Played for the second time since end October in a very nice 2-man tourney. This is another one of those places where the beauty of the track can distract me from the actual conditions- which were not that great. Bumpy, bumpy greens, inconsistent speed [this was much different in end-October. The greens were immaculate back then]. Several bunkers with wet sand [my partner visited a few]. Fairways+ tee boxes were nice, rough fine. The facility is fantastic- a real dreamland and so is the track. I’m not certain the value is there- at least based on course conditions. Regardless, the layout is a lot of fun and will confront your course management skills- few holes can be simply overpowered.

We played on Tuesday, 11/06/07. The course is in great shape. It took us just over 4 hours to play 18 holes. Although we found out today that the groundskeeper were fertilizing the course. Our clubs and anything else which touched the grass turned white (like our shoes).

The fairways were nice and lush. Though in some spots it was muddy. In addition, the fairways on a lot of holes are very wide where you can grip it and rip it. The greens are in good shape although we found some unrepaired ball marks on the greens. There is no GPS in the carts. I highly recommend you get the yardage book in the golf shop. It will save you the hassle of looking for yardage markers on the course.

The last time when we were here, Ojai Valley Inn was under construction. It looks so nice now with the construction all done. The staff at Ojai Valley Inn are very friendly and helpful. Twilight starts at noon for $79. We will be back here again when we have a chance. It it one of our favorite courses to play.

The course is in very good shape. And the pace of play was excellent. Two thumbs up!

played here superbowl sunday, and i don't think it is worth the green fee. it is a little short, a nice classic course, but the condition was just so so. The greens were nice, and the course played slow, it was a tournament so all the idiots felt like they needed to look at every two foot putt from all angles and take a practice stroke like mickelson. drove me crazy. not bad, but not worth the green fee in my opinion.

Played in perfect conditions. Cleanup from Christmas windstorms is still taking place. Several downed trees are still strewn about the course.

Although the course has its "winter coat", lies in all fairways were good and greens were soft and rolling true. Speaking of the greens....woa Nellie; are they ever fast. Rolling 11.0 means you'd better NOT miss on the short side.

Staff was accommodating and friendly. The renovations have made a positive impact on the entire operation. The $79 twilight rate is what made the round most satisfying. That seemed to be the "right price" for this course at this time of year.

Played The Inn this morning and found lots of debris and many downed trees on the course - in fact, the back nine was closed today thanks to downed trees. The wind held off for us and it was just a beautiful day. There is a lot of dormant grass in the fairways and rough, so the course is a kind of yellowish-green, but it plays great and the greens are in great shape. We found a few greens to be a little bumpy at times but by and large they roll perfectly. They're very receptive to all kinds of shots but not so soft that you feel like you're walking on sponges. I think the best thing about this course is the feeling you have when you finish - it's just so beautiful, and the course is so pleasant to play, that you're energized and relaxed at the same time. True, it's not a long course, nor is it the hardest course you'll ever play. There are great shot values, though, lots of options you can play, and it's gorgeous beyond compare. You owe yourself a visit to this place, and at $79 twilight or with another special, it's an awesome value. Enjoy it - I'll remember each of my rounds there for a long time to come.

I played Ojai Valley Inn on 11/2 for the first time since they re-routed the nines. At $79 twilight, this is an absolutely increcible value. It's not a place where you're going to air it out a lot; at 6300 yards from the tips you'll leave your driver in the bag on a lot of holes. That said, I doubt you're going to play too many golf courses that are as stunningly beautiful as this, and you'll get a good thinking-man's day of golf out of it, too. Though short, it's an incredibly effective design that makes you hit a good variety of shots and that gives ample opportunity to score well OR to make big numbers. And then there's the sheer beauty of the place, which is unsurpassed for our area.

Right now the course is in excellent condition with greens holding shots nicely, running quick and true, and with fairways, rough, tee boxes, and bunkers all immaculate. The staff is helpful and friendly, the course is stunning, challenging, and memorably interesting, and the combination makes for a sensational day of golf. I love this place and can't wait to go back.
