Played here for the first time this week. Got off at 2:30 and got 27 holes in. Great bargin for $42-weekday-twilight. Clasic layout, winding through the hills and trees. Course is OK shape, sand a little thin in a few traps, greens just now healing from the aeriation-little bumpy-medium fast, fairways generally good. The course has "old style" kukuya fairways and poa greens so it will never rival newer courses in terms of playing conditions. It is a gem of a course and should be played at least once. They are not yet in new facilities yet, which will price them out of the local market if they think they can get $170/round. It is definitely worth $50-90 depending on day/time. I recommend you give it a try before the construction is completed.

great course but alittle disappointed today, just aerated greens so they weren't very fun to putt on. rest of course good though.

The whole course is in very good shape. Many trouble spots just a few weeks ago are on the mend and conditions are improving.

The whole course is in very good shape. Many trouble spots just a few weeks ago are on the mend and conditions are improving.
Discounted green fees are available now at about 50 weekdays and 100 weekends makes it somewhat pricey vs others of this caliber around but as the resort portion of the property is completed (which it doesn't look like it will in my lifetime) I'm sure the price will jump back up.
One other downside is that the temporary tees as a result of the construction have only further shortened this already short track. Driver/pitching wedge does get a bit old but a super low score and firing at every pin can be fun too. If you want a bit more of a test try Moorpark C.C. from the back tees, Driver/two iron over and over again is a whole different day especially in a 20 mph wind.

The Resort itself is under construction until the end of summer, so the course is re-routed a little, and has 2 temporary tees. The moved tee on what is now #4 makes it a very interesting hole.

The greens were punched 2 weeks ago, and I was hoping they would be healed more, but they are still overwhelmed with sand-filled holes. It's more distracting than detrimental.
I was only aware of construction noises once or twice, and most of the course is away from the buildings anyway.
This course is truly a jewel, and one of the most beautiful courses in So Cal. There are holes you will find nowhere else but here. At $69 with a cart, it's got to be the best deal around. Apparently when construction is finished, green fees are going to be $180-190, so enjoy it while you can.
