I heard a lot about good reviews on this course. This course has two 18 holes, Vinyard & Victoria Lake courses. With couple of my buddies, we took a day off and went up to play. It was very windy day. I really have tough time during windy days. Had a very bad round... Anyhow, fairways are so so. Similar to other muni courses. May be because I had a high expection on this course, front nine layout is just OK. Bit boring. However back nine layout got more interesting. Greens are very nice. Firm and roll very nicely. Read the breaks very carefully. All of us had a very tough time reading the breaks. It breaks Wrong direction! Don't know why... may be due to the wind??? Bunkers are decent shape. Signature hole #18, par 3 island hole. I contributed two new balls on this hole. 190 ~200 yards with wind factor makes this hole very challenging. With President's Day special rate, we only paid $31 with cart which is great deal! It's a good course. Definitely will go back again. Check out the Victoria Lake course...

Played River Ridge Vineyard this afternoon with the golf team and man the greens are the BEST I've ever seen them. The rest of the course has definitely suffered from the excessive water we've seen recently. Standing water in some fairways and some bunkers, but the greens are OUTSTANDING. Definitely worth the green fees. If Saticoy Country Club has rates a 10 for Poa greens than River Ridge is at a 9 now. Smooth and fast!

Out early Sunday, Feb 15th. Time to play the Ridge. Why? The greens are up to their ‘legendary’ status- absolutely pure. Yes, there are some fungus spots, but they have no affect on how the ball rolls.
The balance of the Vineyard has benefited much more than its little sister [Victoria Lakes] – look, I am not a horticulturalist, but seems an older, more established course would benefit from the rain and up-keep.
I have complained about the sand traps- considerable improvement.
Tee boxes are also in good shape.
No, the fairways are not the consistent grass of Vicky; however, they are actually lush in most areas.
In the end, the greens seal the deal. Deceptively fast, virtually no wobble. With the latest rains passing through, can only image they will improve over the next several weeks [I rated them an ‘8’ on this review].

Played on Sunday 12/28 for the first time. Got in the round in just over 4 hours. Tee boxes were in great shape, greens were awesome and the layout makes for a fun round. My main problem was with the staff. The lady at the starters window was rude and made for one of the most uncomfortable first holes I have ever played. She managed to piss off the whole group. She actually stood behind me while I teed off. I found most of the staff to be unpleasent here, except the cart girl of course.

Out early December 14th. Last time out end October. Walked with 3 others under 4 hours. The Ridge in really good shape right now. Usually pretty stingy with ‘great’ ratings- the greens are great. Impressive for this time of year. True, true true. No wobbles at all. Quick- one guy who has a stimp- figured they were running about 11. Regardless, they held and if you gave up the hole on a straight putt, forget it.
Fairways surprisingly lush. Rough and tee boxes fine for this time of year. Sand traps still need help [more sand]. Either that, or tell the guys to stop maintaining with a small tractor- simply damages the traps by compacting sand into rock.
Between the Lakes and Vineyard, Vineyard in better shape. The rains will do nothing but help. Until conditions deteriorate, Vineyard #1 on my roto.

Played the Vinyard course on 10/10/08. Morning tee time. Pace of play was very good. The course is in good shape. Greens were rolling smooth and fast despite the recent maintenance. Hole #10 is still being worked on, so they have made this a par 3 until the fairway work is completed. Overall, it is a beautiful course with scenic views. The River Ridge pro shop staff were professional & friendly. Cart girl came around a couple times during our round. I used their internet site web reservation service to book our tee time. A good golf experience for the money.

A rarity! I gave these greens a perfect 10. What a nice golf course. It reminded me of the beautifully manicured grass found in almost all golf courses in the mid-western U.S. This is a fairly forgiving course off the tee but, there are trouble spots to keep you on your toes. Number 10, unfortunately is now a par 3 due to fairway enhancements. I would have loved to play that 465 yarder.

Better condition now than the GK rating might indicate. The new holes (#'s 3-6) on the Vineyard (original) course are very well done.

Nice day, decent conditions, and got to watch the Dallas Cowboys practice from a few tees at the start of the back nine. (I swear I saw Jessica and Tony.) Fairways and greens were about what you would expect for the green fees, but I'm getting more and more impressed with the layout and service. (I saw 3+ marshals keeping the pace of play OK even though we couldn't help laughing at the "lurking" they seemed to be doing at certain points on the course...)
