Played 2-12-26 walking as a single for $32(sr rate) early morning in a little under three hours. Tee boxes were mostly in good shape with good coverage and level stance. They had four tee boxes closed for the day, so tees were moved up on 4, 7, 10, and 18. Fairways were in good shape, with minimal roll out and nice lies, with a little standing water on 17 from the previous days rain. Rough was 1-2 inches longer than fairways, playing lush but not to difficult to hit from. Was in one greenside bunker that had a good layer of nice brown sand. Greens were in good shape, rolling mostly smooth with an occasional bump (mostly from poorly repaired pitch marks) playing a little soft and rolling medium pace.

Walked the orange tees this afternoon 2/2/2026 at 12:10pm with my buddy Matt joined by a very nice father and son Gregory and Trevor under perfect weather 71 degrees and no wind. Pop was 5 hrs as it looked like they had a tournament earlier this morning. Great friendly proshop staff as usual. Soule has a nice big putting green that mirrors the speed of the greens along with a nice sized range on mats and a seperate chipping green with a practice bunker just behind 18 green. This was my second round out here after the rains and Im glad to say they have the 5th hole back to playing as a par 5. They have done a good job with what they had to work with. They lost about 60 percent of the green all on the right side. Currently they have a wood fence seperating the green and the huge creek. Of note as well was they are reseeding the whole 10th tee box so they have the tees playing as a 110 yd hole sharing the teeing ground with the first tee box. The greens were in terrific shape rolling medium to quick pace and smooth. We fixed an extra couple ballmarks on each green. Rated 8/10 Fairways were in terrific shape for the most part. Rated 8/10 Rough was in good shape and many holes were being mowed as we were playing. Rated 8/10 Tees mostly all level and lush. Rated 8/10 Was in greenside bunker on 3 and 16 that had perfectly raked beach sand. Rated 8.5/10. I know that as spring approaches the fairways, tees and rough will only get better and closer to a 9 rating. One of the best bang for your buck deals in Socal Highly recommended.

Started my three day golf trip on 1/11 at heaven on earth, Soule Park. My first time here and will not be my last. I chose this course over Olivas Links because of all the reviews I read on Greenskeeper.org and other forums.

10:30am tee time. POP 4.75hrs. The course is in amazing condition right now, weather was ideal all day with high at 75*F and virtually no wind. I walked it along with another single walker and definitely recommend, only a couple hilly parts but overall manageable. No real complaints of playing conditions honestly, this course is a real treat and the worst thing about it is how far I live from it. Staff interactions were all friendly and facilities were clean.

Layout is fun with plenty opportunities for strategic shots, greens were rolling true and had good coverage with few if any ball marks.

Put this course on your bucket list.

Soule Park playing very fine...


Had the pleasure of playing SP once again! Excellent weather and conditions all around today with almost no wind. I note the following:


Tee Boxes: Level and green, no damage. Condition very good.


Fairways: Green, lush, and defined from rough. Grabby with limited rollout. Condition very good.


Greens: Green, medium-fast in speed, on the medium to firm side, and tricky to read at times. Speed about a 11. Condition very good.


Sand: Maintained with heavy consistency. Condition very good.


Rough: Maintained and defined, about 3 – 5 inches. Condition very good.


Waste Areas: Maintained with overgrown nature that offered little to no recovery potential. Condition very good.


Driving Range: Very nice driving range! Same as last review.


Practice Areas: Chipping area present was nice but compact. Conditions was above average. Same as last review.


POP: 4.33 hours – no wait was encountered after the first tee box.


Other: A very nice golf shop, high grade. Service received was excellent!


Restaurant: Zaidi's Restaurant was again outstanding! Again, this is one of the best golf course restaurants you can eat at! The food here is top of the line and a must to enjoy when playing SP! A post round meal here makes for the perfect day! Fish and Chips were very good, but nothing beats the California Burger...


This is a great golf course that requires a solid golf game to score. I loved this track and hope to be able to play it again in the near future. Bring your A-game and putting imagination... Again Fully Endorsed!

After posting my negative review of Rustic, I felt I needed to come here and drop another review for SP -- also it seems its been since July someone last did. I play here often, several times a month, so I have built that bias of loving my "home course" (even though I live in West LA). Its worth the drive to come here -- it takes about an hour for me to get anywhere else any way (any LBC course, or Pacific Palms or Oak Quarry or Goose Creek), so an extra 20-30 min to get to Ojai is worth it. The course is cheap -- almost a steal -- and they put a lot of work into maintaining the course. The improvements that have been made in the last 5-6 years makes this course one of the best public courses in the Ventura/LA area. Add on to that the great food they have at the course, as well as all the nice place to enjoy in the town, this is a destination that y'all should consider to be a habit and not just an occasional treat.

Walked the oranges Monday 7/8/25 with my buddy Matt under balmy conditions with just a light breeze. 2nd twilight group out around 110pm behind a packed tee sheet of late morning golfers. Pop was 4 hrs 45 minutes. Super friendly proshop and range staff. We ate at their resturant after which is a must...great food and views.

The summer heat is starting to brown out some small portions of most fairways but would state that all fairways still provided nicely padded turf in just great shape. Always a pleasure to hit from these beauties. Rated 7.5/10

Greens were very healthy about medium speed. We fixed an extra 4 ballmarks per green. They rolled medium pace and were very soft on approach. Rated 7.5/10

Rough was nice and lush and green just off the fringes and fairways. Very good shape. Rated 8/10

Most all tees level and lush and in nice shape. Rated 8/10

Was not in any greenside or fairway bunkers but my buddy described them as their usual nice thick beach sandy self. They all looked raked and groomed well.

Always love our Soule Park rounds. Recommended.

Again had the pleasure of playing SP! It was an awesome day! Great weather and conditions all around today with a bit of 10 mph wind late on the back nine. I note the following:


Tee Boxes: Level and green, no damage. Condition very good.


Fairways: Green, lush, and defined from rough. Grabby with limited rollout. Condition very good.


Greens: Green, medium-fast in speed, on the medium to firm side, and tricky to read at times. Speed about a 11. Condition very good.

Rough: Maintained and defined, about 3 – 5 inches. Condition very good.

Driving Range: Very nice driving range! You are hitting off matts into an incredible mountain backdrop. This range was as good as it gets for the location and ran out at over 300 yards. I noted classic yellow range balls that flew well and were in good condition. Love the Driving Range experience here!


Practice Areas: Chipping area present was nice but compact. Conditions was above average. Practice putting green was ample and consistent in speed with the course's greens. Conditions was also above average.


POP: 5 hours – wait was encountered on 6 holes on the front nine and on one hole on the back nine. It was a busy day.


Other: Noted a nice golf shop, high grade. Service received was excellent!


Restaurant: Zaidi's Restaurant was epic! This is one of the best golf course restaurants you can ever eat at! The food here is top of the line and a must to enjoy when playing SP! A post round meal here makes for the perfect day!

Walked the orange tees today 5/27/2025 with my buddy Mark joined by Jim Sr and Jim Jr. Very fun 4some. Our Pop was 4 hrs 40 minutes. We paced ourselves comfortable teeing off at 12 noon never having to wait and nevoer letting the group behind catch us. Weather was perfect about 72 degrees with maybe a one club wind. We ate after the round, cant go wrong with the fish and chips, burgers and drinks at their grill. Soule park is rounding into beautiful peak season shape. Am I really walking these emerald green fairways with perfect lush carpet lies for these green fees?? Rated 9/10 highlight of the course. Tees were in great shape, perfect lush and level teeing grounds 8.5/10. Rough lining the fairways beautiful condition left just higher than the beautiful lush fairways. 8.5/10 Was not in any bunkers but they always have an ample nice amount of thick quality beach sand. The greens were actually the weak part of the course. Dont get me wrong they were in great shape health wise rolling pure. They were just super slow and long and grainy from what Im used to here. Maybe a slow 9 on stimp. Probably keeping them watered and longer for the hotter upcoming ojai summer. Rated 7/10. Rating should come out to above an 8. Such a pleasure to play one of the better public's in the area. Highly recommended!

This is another of several very recent reviews of Soule so all I really have to add is they are spot on. The conditions were all around very good, the place is well run and the setting is awesome. After not having played the course in about 30 years, I found an excuse on Monday 5/26 for my second trip back in the last few months. If you are headed up the coast from LA to Ventura and points North, it is worth the diversion to Ojai on the way to play this course. Plan on a drink and bite afterword to get the whole experience.
