Camarillo, home of the outlet stores... is also home of Spanish Hills CC. Been eyeing this course for awhile and when finally getting a chance to play, we ignored the call of the outlet stores and headed to the hills where Robert Cupp designed course lay.

Check-in was smooth and easy. Staff was welcoming and efficient. Practice facility included driving range, short game and a large putting green to warm up and get ready.
given the course sits atop Camarillo hills, there were some outstanding views of the valley and the mountains.

We started on 7th as it was a shotgun event. As you can see from the photos - this was not the easiest hole to start with. The illusion of a tight fairway from the tee box revealed a much more generous landing area once your ball lands on the fairway. Tee boxes are well groomed and so are the fairways with very few brown spots. Manicured firm greens greet your approach shots and well struck balls will stay on the putting surface.

It was a bit anti climatic to play 18 and having to continue on to finish your round as 18th green is truly the highlight of the course. Water guards the entire front of the green in this short but interesting finishing hole.

#1 hole is a downhill shot with a tremendous view which is such a treat for an opening hole.

They had a snack bar where the driving range was that served bbq and drinks which was a welcome sight to hungry tummy after 9 or 18th.

Conditions all around were great as was the view. Enjoyable course and definitely worth the drive to play here. Highly recommended.
