played on monday may 6th at 1123 am for a golf now hot deal of 17.00(rack rate of a non dye county resident was 72.00)course was better than advertised...fairways very nice carpet of grass(a little on the narrow side)...rough very healthy 2 to 3 inches...greens rolled well and very similar for the whole course...very pretty course/lots of water and bunkers...overall well worth the 5 hour drive time form san diego/nice practice area, grass driving range/two seperate chipping areas and 2 putting greens....now for the negitives, really only 2, bunkers...because it gets very windy most of the bunkers have pebbles and sand and the fairway bunkers and waste bunkers have really dime size pebbles...the second item for me as an out of towner was the flag situation on the greens...all flags had the same color flag(yellow)but had a smaller flag on the the pole to indicate front/middle or back...from the faiway it was hard to be sure of the hole location, but overall I'd give 5 stars!!

Played here as the back half of my mini Vegas golf trip this week. Had an 11:53 GolfNow Hot Deal time on Thursday. Outside services attendant pulled up with my cart as soon as I parked, which was a nice touch. It was a beautiful day and the course was very busy, but I started just about on time. Total POP was about 4:10. After looking up at snow-capped Mt. Charleston from Paiute the day before, I got great views of the back side of the mountain here.

Conditions are great. The greens were medium fast, mostly smooth (one playing partner had a few bumpy putts) and very firm. Fairways were excellent: lush deep green coverage from edge to edge. Rough was very good as well, cut pretty short. Bunkers were the low point. I was only in two and they were fine, but one of my playing partners is a member who said they are inconsistent and many are hard. Tee boxes were pristine.

This is a nice, resort-style course and a good value option in the Vegas vicinity (although nearly an hour drive). With the two nines built at different times with different architects, it's a little bit disjointed. Ironically, the nine that runs through a housing tract is more interesting and memorable than the undeveloped one. I really enjoyed most of the back nine.

Played Mountain Falls as part of a tournament and had a great time. I love this place. This course is in great shape right now. Greens are not real fast but rolled true. There is poa anna growing on the greens and it slows them up a bit; some greens more than others but the fairways are excellent. Not a bad lie out there. There is a penalty for not being in the fairway however. The rough is thick. Its rye grass and is very sticky. You will need to muscle the shot and not decelerate or you won’t get through it. Tee boxes are in great condition.

Sand traps however are a different story. They are poorly maintained. There are very hard and really unplayable in my opinion. I guess the recent rains they have been getting packs the sand but this should be addressed by the maintenance crew.

The guys in the clubhouse are great. The food in the restaurant is also very good and every evening they have happy hour and you can’t beat the price both on drinks and food.

The course is challenging and plays reasonably long from the blues. Nice views and is very quiet. If passing through you need to give it a try.

Played Mountain Falls the last weekend of April in a tournament. We come here every year to play in this tournament and its always a good time. Love this place. Its always in great shape and the people who run the golf shop are so accommodating. We caught this place when the greens were recovering from aeration but they still rolled ok. Fairways were great. Sand traps were a bit hard because of the rain that came through but still playable. The rough is very sticky. Its rye grass and it grabs the club head but still the rough was not too deep.

Its clear they put a lot of TLC in this place and it shows. The downside is we also caught MF with heavy winds. 40 mph gusts which made it very difficult. We have played here before however with little or no wind and had a great time. If you can handle the heat in the summer, they have some great deals. Put it in your list of location to play if you are passing through.

Played Wednesday 4/29/2015 after driving from Primm in the morning. It's been a few years since we played here and if anything it has become even better. There was still some sand on the greens from 3 weeks ago so it appears that the thicker sand doesn't settle in quickly. Lakes were beautiful with several waterfalls. Bunkers were MUCH more forgiving than Primm Valley the day before (a very welcome change) and conditions were great. No water shortage here. Even tho it was a little windy, it helped to make the heat more bearable.

One caveat is to play well right on the #18 approach to avoid the lake that runs in front of the green and may not be visible. This will remain on our play list any time we can find ourselves in the area.

A hidden gem. Well worth the drive from Vegas. Been here numerous times and never disappointed. Never crowded. Always lush. Water is not a problem here. A nice change from typical vegas courses. Course isn't overly difficult, nor is it easy. It plays fair and good shots are rewarded. Staff is always pleasant and food in restaurant is good.

Played two rounds this weekend -- 10/18 and 10/19. No wind temp in 80's. This is a good course and more challenging than would first appear. Front nine is very open since there is no housing currently being developed. Back nine is tighter and mostly surrounded by housing. Greens are quite smooth, but on the slow side (around 9). Quite receptive to approach shots. Each green has two or more tiers, so distance control is important. Bunkers are OK -- a little thin of sand and some are muddy. Fairways have more bare spots than I have seen before, but they are playable. But the rough is good and long enough to be annoying. Course on the soft side -- not much fairway roll and ball picked up some mud. Good tourist rate around $65 and local (Clark and Nye counties) around $45. Range balls are extra -- and very hard (like hitting stones). But they probably last a long time. Nice grass range with chipping areas, bunkers and large putting greens which are the same speed as the course greens. Electric carts with ice chests and functional GPS -- just yardage, no pictures. Damp towels are also provided. Beverage service was friendly and regular and water jugs and ball washers are plentiful. Good place to play. If your swing is working, you can shoot 84 fairly easily. If not, hello 92. Not very crowded, even on a Sat and Sun.

Played a tournament here 3/28-3/30/2014.

The course condition was excellent. Fairways and rough were totally green and lush. Never a bad lie. Rye grass year around -- so no overseeding in the Fall. Playable year around.

Fairways are medium wide, but vary. Narrow down between the bunkers so direction off the tee is important. Lots of fairway bunkers so you have to plan your tee shot. On some holes, the landing area is hidden by mounding with bunkers that you cannot see off the tee. None of the holes are really straight -- some gentle and some sharp doglegs. Rough area on both sides of fairways is quite wide, but slopes up hill so the farther you are off-line, the less of a flat stance you have. There are trees lining every fairway.

Greens are large and generally flat, but not level so up hill and downhill putts are frequent. Poa annua grass on greens. Very, very smooth with no balls marks because greens are so firm. The greens are slower than they look (I'd guess about 10). Lots of bunkers around the greens so sucker pins abound.

Still no housing being built around the front nine, so not much to look at. Back nine is the original nine with lots of housing (well back from the course so they don't come into play). Much sharper doglegs on the back nine and water coming into play on a few holes. Greens on back nine are more elevated, so club selection is a challenge. And don't forget the fairway bunkers that you can't see off the tee.

Highlight was Patty holing out from fairway from about 150 yards on the par 5 for an eagle. Major money shot of the tournament. Not bad for a 25 handicap.

Course doesn't play very long from either the Blues or Whites. Plenty of roll in the fairway, none in the rough. But required accuracy and bunkers make the course challenging. Too bad it is an hour drive from Las Vegas. But it is not very crowded. Plan for a full day and play 36.

Side items: Great practice facility. Full service restaurant. Beverage service on course. Water jugs about every 3rd hole. Bathrooms at middle of each nine and both nines end at clubhouse. No negatives -- except for hidden fairway bunkers.
