It was alot better than i thought, and better than the on line pictures show. this was my first and hopefully not the last time. Well worth your $ and your time. Some of the fairways were roped off from the cart, didn't care for that part. The 10th hole is all up hill, narrow,trapps left & right. blind second or third shot to green. This hole took my lunch money.

Excellent course that can be very tough when the wind blows, as it did when I played there. Greens are firm, fast, and fair. If you live within 3 hours of here, you should make the trip.

played this course last year the week I also played Cypress Ridge, monarch is an outstanding course , thoughtful design with lots of slope, elevation changes and framed by water and giant eucalyptus trees...very good, fast greens that were consistent from hole to hole, I would have to say a 'must play' if youre in the central coast area

Played two days here 12/27 and 28. Course is about 2 years old. Severely contoured greens and target golf off the tees make this a demanding course. The greens rolled like an 11 and were very firm. Fairways were thin but playable and the sand was not compacted. Lots of water and some blind shots make you think before you hit. Service was excellent. Would definitely go back in warmer weather.

Had a good time, although as a beginner I had some trouble staying in the short grass.

We played this course on Tuesday, 10-9 on our first annual golf and wine trip to central California. We also played Cypress Ridge, Hunter Ridge Ranch, and La Purisima (see those reviews). We were told that the greens were running a 13 on the Stimpmeter, and I believe 'em. Fastest greens I've ever played by quite a margin, but they seemed to roll true. Now I know what the pros putt on. The course was in great shape, but the newness of the fairways means you'll have a lot of tight lies. We walked this one, and if you don't know the course you'll get lost, because signage is only on the cart path. Lots of up and down with a number of blind shots, which leave you scratching your head before, and after, the shot. The staff was friendly and we had a good time. We'll probably keep this one in next year's rotation, especially now that we know the course.
