Extremely nice staff, starter let us go 45 mins early also gave us range balls for free(I don't know if they were included in the price or not)Course was very different from what I am used to playing. Lots of mounds or dunes as they would call them and super-fast greens. Difficult to make a ball mark with any type of shot. Greens were also two tiered. This one of those courses that you have to play a couple of times to get the hang of it. Will definitely play again. P.S. That jocko's is great place to get a steak!

Customer Service in all area's is exceptional. If you live in the area the Royals Reward program is a great value. Check it out on their web page monarchdunes.com Twilight fee's during the week is $21, $28 on the weekends. The golf course will test every area of your game, especially your short game. I suggest you pay attention to pin placements as you have options where to hit your shots. Be prepared for lighting fast greens!

Great experience overall. Very polite, helpful staff inside. Outside staff left something to be desired. Weren't helpful, didn't get a cart ready for us, didn't help us with our clubs (before or after round), and seemed more intent to talk amongst themselves.

Great, well-designed course. Someone knew what they were doing.

Splendid. Just a splendid course. Never played a true links course, but I would have to surmise that this as as close as you'll find in the States. Should you try to fly your ball to the hole and hope it checks up, you're in for a long day. You HAVE to be creative in all your approaches. The problem lies in that you'll have to play the course at least a few times to really know how far to carry your approaches, to where, and how best to take advantage of the undulations. #11 serves as a good example; about 200 from the tips, downhill. Carry your ball about 150, to the right side, and let it feed to the green. #9, if cut front, paly to the right side on your approach and let the green naturally run it to the left, to the pin.

The fairways are still a bit thin. Some of this is due in part to the cold weather Cali's had of late. It will take a good 3 years before they fill in and mat.

Personnel are very polite. Superb course.

One of my new favorites...worthy of its recent accolades. Wind will always be a factor on the course. I can't help but feel the overall experience will be greatly diminished as the empty home lots are replaced by rooflines and patio furniture.

Played on 11/06 with a 9:30 am tee time. We were able to finish in just under 4 1/2 hours. Greens were rock hard and roll true. Not used to fast greens. I can still see punch marks from aerations ... Continue »

Played on 11/06 with a 9:30 am tee time. We were able to finish in just under 4 1/2 hours. Greens were rock hard and roll true. Not used to fast greens. I can still see punch marks from aerations on the green. But it does not affect play. I really liked the layout of the course. Course can get difficult when wind comes up. Course is a little difficult to walk. Some holes are a little bit of a walk from the green to the next tee.

Played on both 10/21 & 10/22. Excellent layout. Some very challenging and really beautiful holes. Pretty new so the fairways are a little thin and the greens are very hard. Staff was very friendly and the pace of play was about 4.5 hr. on both days.
