Check in was easy. Sam has a great staff working for him.

Up visiting the family this week and as I often do, stop off to play Boundary Oaks. Early on very cool and foggy morning on Friday 12/9 and was second off. I guess they charge weekend rates for Fridays and holidays. $46 non resident rate to walk is a bit steep for a weekday. No one out there so ended up paying solo which is fine by me.

The course is in very nice shape right now. Fairways are in great shape. Some hard pan on the fairways but not much. The greens are really nice and are rolling pretty fast, particularly downhill. They were really holding but I attribute much of that to the couple of days of rain that hit here.

It is a very challenging course with a good mix of dog legs, long and short holes and plays over 6700 yards from the blues. Fairways have generous landing areas but bunkers, which are in good shape, guard just about every hole so you need to hit it straight. I really enjoy playing BO and if you are ever up in the Walnut Creek area, its definitely worth the stop.

Post Thanksgiving Day round at the home track. Course continues to be in great shape and holding up well with the rain, moisture, and colder temps. Greens are outstanding and playing faster.

Weather was balmy, bit of humidity and moisture, around 60 degrees when we tee'd off. Lot's of moisture on the course, and fairways had been recently cut.

Course is in great shape from the tee's to the greens, the bunkers, and 2nd cut.

Recent bunker upgrades are visibly noticeable and the sand has leveled out.

Greens were a bit slow w/ the moisture, but ball was rolling well.

Course started drying out around 11:30, and it was 75 and sunny as we finished.

POP was 4hrs.

Played Boundary 7/22 & 7/23. The Course is hosting a Web.com tour event today (7/25). Course is in excellent shape. New sand in the bunkers has leveled out. Greens are true and fast, especially after 11:00AM in the Diablo valley heat. Some burn spots short of the greens but doesn't effect you unless you are short, however they tend to help you with rolling it up and on.

The tee boxes have had a lot of use and some are a little beat, but with amount of play the place has been getting, coupled with tournament prep, they should be back to normal soon.

Overall the course is in great shape and a lot of fun to play. Definitely a great value in the East Bay.

Usually play B.O. at least twice a year as we go to visit the in-laws. Got there early, 6:30 am to walk on as a single. There wasn’t a car in the parking lot when I got there and the starter sent me out as a solo as soon as it got light enough to play (about 6:45), $26 walking rate and finished in about 2:45. I asked the starter how is the course playing and he said it was in perfect condition. Boy was he wrong. Although it has always been a course that has been in good shape, they are doing some maintenance out there. First ALL of the fairways had a lot of bare spots. It was tough playing the ball down on these fairways. Second, the greens were recently sanded and were not rolling well. Surprised to see this, I asked one of the maintenance guys out there why there were sanding the greens now. He said they were sanding every couple of weeks because they have had some frost. ???? Oh well.

Tee boxes were ragged. The rough however was lush. Sand traps were in good shape but some were very damp. I really like this course and was disappointed to see it not at its best. They have had a lot of rain up here and where there is grass, it was nice and green. The layout is fun and plays tough from the blues. Best rate is to play this course on the weekdays. Fridays and weekends are a bit steep for a muni.

Very Good municipal course. The course conditions up to the green were about average, but then again we're in a drought and it's a city course. The greens were excellent though. Ran smoothly and fast with a ton of slope on every hole...ate me up with 6 three putts.

Played today 11/20/14. Got there early about 6:00 am. Interesting that there was no one there waiting to play. Starter said I was on my own so I teed off at daylight, around 6:30. Had the course all to myself. It rained the night before and the course was damp. Didn't affect play though as it seemed to drain very well. Overall in great shape. Greens are exceptional. Rolling very true. For a muni, they really put a lot of TLC in this course. The customer service is exceptional as well. Great guys in the golf shop. Great service also in the bar. Definitely coming back.

Course is in great condition overall. Really no complaints. Like stated previously the greens are EXTREMELY fast and firm. They roll fairly true but some had me scratching my head wondering what the hell just happened. A few "donuts" around the holes made it maddening seeing your ball do the 90 degree turn at the hole and roll 8 ft away. Sand, Rough, Fairways all in great condition. Decent driving range (mats only), chipping and putting greens very nice. Overall great course and would love to go back.
