played Boundary Oaks on a Friday June 3 and decided to get up early to walk on. Got there at 6:30 and told the starter that I would wait to join a group. after waiting 30 minutes i went to ask when is anyone coming? No one playing so I played solo. took about 3 hours. You just dont see this in So Cal munis! I think this is a tough track. Plenty long and there are some tough slops on most of the greens. $42 (non resident rate) to walk it on a Friday. A liitle high for a muni but enjoyed the course

played sat. 6/10. Things started out slow. We were behind a foresome who by the 4th hole was a hole and a half behind. They let us play through on five and it was smooth sailing the rest of the round. Very nice course overall. Tee boxes mostly level and very little divot damage. Fairways lush with nice lies all the way around.Traps were a little light on sand in some others were fluffy. The greens were perfect! medium fast and smooth. People here actully fix their pitch marks.
Walked on as a single and got out within 10 minutes with three great guys. Very helpfull with lots of local knowledge. Course was challenging and fun to play.Nice mix of elevation changes and doglegs to make it interesting. A little water to keep you honest. Well worth the rack rate of $57

Played this course on a Saturday back in mid-March. Decent shape at this time, but it was sloooow. We didn't get started until 1/2 hour after our tee time which was 1:30ish. By the time we hit the 16th it was too dark to continue. Other than that the course was a fun play. I would like try it again on a weekday to see if it plays any faster.

WAIT. Aerating began today April 6 on greens. Course is tired overall. Solid design with huge potential and looks a challenge but a tremendous amount of maintenance will be required to bring it up past its current presentation of a goat track municipal. Its pedigree deserves better than it is. Looking forward to other golfers' posts and progress.

This is a great local course, which is well-maintained and fun to play. Good distance, a fair amount of water, sand and trees to waylay inaccurate shots. Fairways give a good rollout, and the course is fairly forgiving. It's a great deal mid-week if you're walking, but just an average deal on the weekends with a cart ($52, I think). Tends to get overcrowded on the weekends as well, and I've had some 5 hour plus rounds here.

Played on Friday at 103+ degrees, so have to take some thoughts here with the heat index...

Very nice layout and for the uninitiated, this course has some surprises. I was out on a demo outing and our group (fivesome) consisted of the course record holder, a single digit HC, a couple mid teen HCs, and me pulling up the rear with a mid 20s HC.

Even with the drought, most fairways, greens and tee boxes were in really good shape. The rough areas are thin in terms of grass growth, but anything near a pond will be deep. Under trees will be grass free, but have lots of mulch/leaves, etc., that won't be fun either. Keeping in in the short grass is always a good idea.

Greens were very receptive to balls and the traps were pretty good. I luckily only hit two all day. We were the slow group going round but other groups were really good about it as we were showing off the product. Met with the Asst. Pro's, course regulars, etc. Cart Gal was always around and was a good thing because of the heat.

I will go back (and play from MY tees, not the tips what so ever!)

This course is nice in the spring and deteriorates as the summer gets hotter. Great mens club however.
