Hello all. I played here in the light rain on friday february 5th. It was a great decision to play there. The service is fantastic first of all. The tee boxes, fairways, rough, bunkers, and greens were marvelous. Especially the greens. They are the best in southern cal right now I bet. True and fast. Running at 11 on the stimp. Pace of play was fantastic. Views were to die for. I cant brag enough about this place right now. I would highly highly recommend playing here now if you want a hell of a golf experience. the caddies are awesome too!

Played here today at 11am. Service was awesome. Course was not. Horrible fairway grass with unrepaired divots and horrible putting surfaces that were more like a chia pet than a putting green. The only way i would play it is for free, which i did today. Otherwise, it aint worth your money or mine

played here last week. The course is in fantastic shape. Greens were true and fast runnin 11 or so on stimp. service was awesome too. It is a must play right now.

Played today at 1110am. They are running a special until nov 30. You pay 161.25 with the city tax instead of 286.25. This is due to reecent course overseeding and maintenance. The cool thing is they give you a voucher for a foursome at the special rate good until may 31 2010. Course was playing shaggy and slow and was cart path only. Greens running 8.5 on stimp and that is right on. I played awesome today and would have been better if greens were normal fast and true. The service was spectacular especially nick at valet and john in the shop. I love the course, views, and feel of the place. One of the toughest tests of golf from the tips you will find anywhere. I would play once before nov 30 get your voucher and come back in a few months when the course has recovered and can be shaved down.

Played here today. Course is in magnificent shape. It is a lot cooler here than inland and well worth the money. Nobody plays it seems between 11am and 2pm so i recommend that time slot to have a fast round. Greens were med fast and healthy, fairways were lush with bermuda taking the heat well, bunkers were good. This week is going to be very hot so I will be here all week . I dont care about 250 bucks its worth it. Hope I helped.

UNACCEPTABLE pace of freakin play today. I tee off at 1040 with 2 other guys and we finish the front 9 at 140. So we walked off after 11. I tried to get a 9 hole rate or refund and they said the city wont let them. Thats fine I will deal with the city. They let out all these 5 somes and noone knows how to play this d%mn game fast it seems. If you get 10s on every hole just pick up would ya. The course is in ok shape. Im playin the long beach open here next week. They better get those d%mn greens in order. I wouldnt waste my time playing here unless u tee off early, altho my friend teed off at 830am today and it took him 5hr 40min he said. Pathetic

Played tuesday at 545am. Course is in the best shape i have ever seen it. Fairways are lush and no longer hardpan. Greens were pure and they plug the ball marks every morning my instructor said. Very grainy greens. I missed a lot of short putts due to grain i didnt see. If you are a long hitter with a hot putter, you can really overpower this course. Unfortunately, my putter was not hot. Must play!

Played today at 1pm. Played in 2.5 hours. 20-30mph winds. Course is in magnificent shape. Greens are getting faster like the old days. Its my favorite course. Very difficult test of golf i love it!

Played today late afternoon. I love the south course. Faiways were great, greens were healthy but kinda slow. Greens on no 4 and no 6 are not good. Majestic weather and views today. Once again, the service stands out here. I think everyone should take advantage of how good of shape the courses are in . Its the best since the reopen without a doubt. I think the south is rated 16th best course in the state and the north is 21st according to golfweek. I can see why. I highly recommend the south or north but the south always has a special place in my heart! It has so much character from the tips!

Played here today 545am. Magnificent steal for 26 bucks i payed. Fairways are good enough and greens were spectacular. Probably the nicest and fastest I have played lately. Bunkers are decent and rough is tough. Great design of a golf course. I love it here because its cheap, in good shape, and I can walk. Highly recommend it!

Played today twilight. The course is in outstanding shape. Especially the fairways. The greens are slow but I think that is everywhere it seems. Probably to protect against the heat. The weather was spectacular and the ocean views as well. The staff here is also outstanding. Make you feel special. Tip them well! This course is worth the money now I highly recommend it !!

I love the staff here. Absolutely outstanding. The golf course is not in good shape. Last summer it was prime! This summer it features blotchy fairways and greens that are super slow. They verticut them yesterday before i played and it really does throw off the putts. I think the drought may have something to do with the lack of lushness this course once owned. If you can play it for under 70 bucks, I would do it.
