Inexpensive golf course. A lot of short holes. I hit the driver only 5 times. The rest of the times it was long irons/hybrids/woods (except on the par 3s). Some of the holes were even to short for hybrids/woods. A lot of brown patches in the fairways so your ball rolls forever. Front 9 you have to watch out for the geese sh$t in the fairways and greens. The course is a good back up when Brookside is closed. The last time I played here it was about 4-5 years ago. Greens were in better condition than I remembered. Tee boxes need some work-very shaggy.

I had a tee time at 2:15 on 6/1/06. I was stoked to play until I found out that I had to pay the regular rate (not TW rate). Appartently the TW rate is not 2:00 pm but 2:30. I was pissed because if I had paid the regular rate, I would of paid an extra $25.00 to sit in the golf cart to wait to tee off after 2:30 pm. There was a tournament going on course 1, so course 2 was backed up. I know its not the starter's fault (or is it?), because he said everything is computerized in terms of the register. I mean Brookside is a good deal and all, but to get charged $25.00 extra to sit in a cart for 15 minutes and then tee off during Super TW is ridiculous. The guys who make the decisions need to re-think this policy. Other than that, course was in great shape.

Me and a friend played ANGC for the first time today. I have mixed emotions about our experience.

Pros: Can't beat playing for free on your birthday (it was my bro's birthday today). Greens/Fairways in great shape. I hardly saw any divots. Greens were fast. Service was good. Impressed with the food. Excellent chicken sandwich in the grill room. GPS was accurate. Our threesome saw a deer run through the fairway.

Cons: A little pricey for the area. I can't see paying a $100 on the weekend. I was not really impressed with the lay out. After awhile all the holes looked alike to me. However, I am impressed what they did with a dried up river bed. Which leads to my next comment-the natural habitat areas. There is not much habitat in those areas-its a dried up river bed. Greens were so firm that anything over a 9 iron has a tough time staying on. You have to play below the hole and allow for some roll. Not many bail out areas. My bro lost 13 balls today.

First of all kudos to Brookside for not using the course for the Rose Bowl game. With all the rain we had it would of destroyed the fairways. I thought the course was in pretty good shape considering the time of year. Ruff was pretty long plus with all the leaves falling, looking for you ball is like looking for a needle in the haystick. Teed off at 3:00 and got 13 holes in-not bad for a Friday.

Played on 12/01/05 and the course was in great shape. I went out with 2 bros and another single and had an awesome time (even though my score wasn't awesome). The starter was cool...comp me and my friends buckets of balls. It was a beautiful day and I thought the fairways and greens were in great shape-no complaints. Maybe one complaint...some of the bunkers have different textures..some soft...some hard...some with a lot of rocks. The last time I played this course was 3 years ago and today I had to ask myself, "why don't I play here more often?". I wished I could of played another 18 today. One last note...cart girl came around more than once. The second time I saw her was perfect timing-I was hungry and she had a great selection of sandwiches/snacks/drinks. All in its a good value and I can't wait to play again.

Played STW and got 16 holes. Course looks likes its holding up considering its used for parking/tailgate parties for UCLA football games. Greens have improved, I didn't notice that many divots. My only compliant is that the divot mix containers on my cart were empty (this is the second time). Other than that, you can't beat the price. You get alot of golf for little money (during STW that is).

Course was in pretty good shape considering the aeration. A few greens were alittle bumpy. I was suprised to see that some of the bunkers actually had real sand...not dirt with rocks. I just hope Brookside keeps up with the improvements.

Course 2 was in pretty good shape considering Course 1 has been closed. Fairways had some brown spots, but since its Fall, it actually gives the course a cool look. However, it sucks when your trying to hit a pitch shot from 15-20yds off that. Greens were pretty good too. I didn't see to many pitch marks, but it looked like the greens had not been mowed for a couple of days. They were alittle slow-but nothing to b$tch about. Kudos to the beverage cart girl. After I had putted out on hole 2, I noticed that I left my wedge on hole 1. I asked her if she would mind getting it for me (I was walking) and she said no problem (even with a smile). I felt bad that I didn't have any cash to tip her, so next time I play, I'm gonna make sure I do.

Played super twilight...teed off at 5 p.m. and got 14 holes (could of played more-but I wanted to catch the second half of Oak vs KC). Course was in pretty good condition considering there have been two UCLA games the last 2 weeks. I saw alot of beer bottle caps and charcoal (grills) in the fairways...still fairways were in good condition. Greens were ok...some greens there was alot of divots and others just a few. You still can't beat the price of twilight. I just hope Brookside tries to maintain the course during the course of football season. It would be a shame if they spent all that money and let it get torn up for the next 3 months.

Course was in good condition after first UCLA home football game. As I was walking down the 10th fairway, I saw a bunch of free passes to a strip club as well as a condom (unused...no love after the game I guess). It will be interesting to see how the course holds up with the parking for the games. Anyways...greens looked and played good..I didn't see that many divots...there were a few bare spots in the the fairways...but nothing to complain about...a good course for a great price (twilight or Super).

Had a fun time at Santa Anita...I played 18 holes in 3 1/2 hours during TW. Course has generous fairways. I wished the greens were alittle faster. They were in pretty good condition...just wished they would of rolled faster. They were slooow. I prefer Brookside its a better maintained course because its able to accomodate more players with 2 courses...overall it was fair...I would recommended S.A.G.C if you can't get a tee time at Brookside

Its a good course...I just wish people would fix their divots...course would be in better condition if people took the time.
