Los Robles is what it is. The course gets a ton of play. A 4.5 to 5 hour round on the weekend is the norm. Every aspect of the course is good, not great, but not horrible either. You better be straight because there are trees all over the place. I don't play here often because I think there are better options for me locally, but I don't avoid it either and I do enjoy it when I do play here.

This is by far the worst condition this course has been in since I've started playing here. Granted, I don't play here often, but I wasn't impressed this time around. There were many tee boxes that were completely chewed up and uneven. People are doing a horrible job of fixing there ball marks on the greens (in fact, there was a divot on one of them...looks like a joker tried to hit wedge off of it). The fairways were in okay shape, except they were really wet in some places and it made for mushy conditions in spots. The traps were interesting. The fairway bunkers were actually in pretty good shape, but some of the ones near the greens were pretty hard (yeah, I was in way too many during this round). The rough was actually in good shape, but all in all, not in the type of shape you'd expect for this round. On the positive side, the round only took a tick over 4.5 hours on a Saturday, so that was nice.

The course is rounding back into shape rather nicely. I was pleasantly surprised at how green the fairways and greens were, especially on the front. The back side had a couple fairways with some small brown patches and a couple of greens with the same, but considering the heat we've had, the course looked great.
Greens played considerably different on the two sides. On the front, the greens were pretty receptive to high shots and balls generally held the greens. On the back, as it dried out a bit, the greens got much firmer and it was back to chasing the ball to the greens because they were getting pretty hard. I personally like the firm greens on the course, and I was glad to see that feature of the course coming back into play.
Everything else was typical Rustic Canyon. Group in front of us had some walkers, so what could've been a nice 4.5 hour Saturday round turned into a 5 hour round. Also, as usual, stay out of the traps because you never know what you're going to get in there (peebles, ants, etc.).

Played Ridgeline/Creekside on Monday morning. The course is in outstanding shape. The greens, fairways and rough are extremely well-manicured right now. Even with all of the heat, there were very few browns spots on this course at all. The greens were rolling great, the fairways were in outstanding shape and the rough was long enough to cost you if you were too crooked off of the tee. The sand traps were in good shape, but a couple of my playing partners came up with some pretty hard lies in a few. The only complaint about this course is the starters. They are about as short-tempered and as rude as any can get. They were pretty much growling at everyone from the time I got there until I left. Oh well, I guess every course must have one thing they can improve on.

I haven't played Tierra Rejada in a while, and I was not disappointed today. First of all, we played a holiday round in about 4 hours 15 minutes...awesome! The fairways are in excellent condition and the greens were rolling exceptionally well. The two sand traps that I forced myself to visit were in great shape as well. I realize the price is steep (that's why it's been a while since I've played here), but I think this course is well worth the price.

Fairways were in excellent condition. Rough seemed to be longer than in recent memory, but it was also in great shape. However, the greens and the collars were a bit frustrating because there was no consistency from one to another. Some collars were firm (like normal), while others were soft. Greens were the same and some were a bit on the furry side as well. I still love the course, but here's hoping the greens and collars are in better shape the next time I play here.

Played on 3/25. Round was 5 hours long. This course has numerous sets of tees for all levels of play, so it would be nice if players were honest with themselves and played the correct set. The greens were pretty hammered, but the rest of the course was in fine shape.

Played Rustic on 1/7/06. The greens were firm and very fast. The course was in great shape. Play was a bit slow on the front nine, but the pace was much better on the back. Another enjoyable round at Rustic Canyon.

Played the Canyon Crest/Ridgeline combo on 11/25/05. Both sides were in outstanding condition. It was my first time on the Canyon Crest side. Not nearly as tough as the Ridgeline side, but still a nice layout. It moves in and out of the homes going up in a few places. Although a little pricey, Moorpark CC is a course that should definitely not be missed.

My first time out to this course. The greens were firm and fast, but they rolled extremely well. Fairways were in great shape and the rough is just long enough to penalize if you venture into it. They need to water there quite a bit, so some of the sand traps were wet and I unfortunately landed in a few. Wet sand makes for interesting shots. We played (2-some) in 3 hours 40 minutes. Awesome! I really like the layout and I look forward to coming back again.

Finally, all 18 are open! The course was in great shape! The "new" parts of the course stayed pretty true to the original design of the course. None of the changes were huge. The collars of the greens had recently been punched, but other than that, the course was in great shape.

Played #2 in 4:45 on Father's Day...pretty happy about that. Course was in really good shape, and when you consider the weekend price ($62 to ride), Brookside is an excellent value!
