I was out in that area Thurs 12/11/14 The wifey and I decided to play a round out here.

The coolest thing about this course is the history it has, and the Navy or US Armed Forces involvement here. Tiger Woods home course, if you have read his book he talks about this course a lot.

The staff here were great. There was an asian guy who helped me he was really nice. I paid with a hot deal on golfnow, the guy gave me free range balls for me and the wifey and discounted a towel that I bought and a logo ball (I collect logo balls for every new course I play)

They let us out an hour early, the course was in pretty good shape, the greens were challenging. I did not like chipping around the greens. The grass was really thick where your club will just grab every time. There were some holes where there was those black birds (dont know what they are call. Not goose, or ducks) there was bird poop everywhere even on the greens when you were putting the ball would roll through poop. that was only in about 3 or 4 holes.

Great course, it was about 30 bucks not bad for an am tee time.

Played Goose 12/10/14 Wednesday at 11:45am

I have no real complaints about this place. But this are some "issues" that you might encounter.

- I booked my tee time through the phone with them. When I got there they seemed to be having trouble finding tee times on their sheet 9almost like if someone forgot to put them down) No big deal he found my tee time, the guy just wrote down the wrong first name.

-When I booked my tee time I asked the guy how much it was he told me $49 when i checked in he told me $52 SO I had to pay $52. Got a small bucket, to the driving range I went.

- It was prime time... They have a good size driving range but they only had like 15 stalls open. So I had to wait like 15 mins for a stall to open up. again im a pretty patient dude so it wasnt a big deal.

The course was in great shape, greens rolling really good. I have no complaints about the POP or the course itself. Its definetly worth the green fee. I honestly wish it was a little cheaper because I would play here all the time if it was.

(oh they are adding a bunch of stuff to their practice facility like 2 more chipping greens and putting greens)

Other than those 3 minimal things that happened (which is not enough to keep me from playing here) It was a great time

3 things that I actually like sbout this course... 1. Their Range balls are cheap, 2. The layout is fun. 3. The snack bar lady is super friendly.

Now... You can tell a difference between the fairway and the rough (okay im exaggerating but the fairways are bad) Now the greens are just absolutely terrible... If you read a break putt straight to the cup because they are so slow and bumpy that the ball will not break or anything. Their greens used to be better.. I dont know if the summer time is a reason why.. I wish there was a way for them to keep the Ducks, Geese, gooses all king of upland animals off the fairways because sometimes there will be a nice piece of poop on your club face. but yea Greens are pretty bad and the fairways can be better!. Other than that this course is pretty cool. I wish it was maintained better...

Sierra Lakes is a great course!!! Its wide open but fairway hits are a must since their rough are fairly long. The rough is what makes this course difficult. I love all their par 3s over water... They are pretty pricey but its wirth the green fee. Its definetly maintained really well. I really enjoy playing this course. Its a top notch championship course. Their practice green and Driving range are in phenomenal condition. No chipping green which is a bummer.

Upland hills is my go to course if I dont want to drive far to get a round in. Its unfortunate that its so expensive in the am, and twilight... I personally dont think this course is worth the $40, $38, and 25 dollars to play. BUT if you go at twilight or super twilight and pay $18-22 to play its totally worth it. The greens are just not maintained well. Some holes have some decent fairways and Tee boxes but not all of them. Its a short easy course for any level. It is challenging in the fact that its very tight (the front more than the back) houses all around you but it makes the round that much more interesting. Pace is decent there. Not a bad course for $22 and below. I would not pay more than $25 to play there.

I personally love this course. It is a great course for their rates! Some holes are open and some are tight.. its a pretty fun layout and you get rewarded for hitting good shots. Some of their bunkers could be a little better but I have seen worse. Its by far the best course for your dollar if you want a nice round for cheap. Their Driving range is also pretty nice. My favorite hole is the 15th Par 3 over water!
