Played 8/21. Good conditions as usual. Sure, some brown spots, but hey, it's summer. Greens were very smooth. Not a lot of people out there. Worth it.

Conditions are fine for this time of year. Greens were a little beat up. Some greens had ruts in the them on the edges from mower wheels...

We made a tee time for 10:23am, but when we arrived they had us down for 6am! I thought, uh oh, as the gentleman behind the counter huffed and tossed his pencil down. But, they got us right out. Very accomodating.

It's worth the money, as always.

Played Friday, June 1st. Conditions are okay. Nothing incredible in either the positive or negative. Greens rolled fairly true. Were pretty quick. Fairways are a little hard, but not bad. Very slow play. A little over 5 hours. Course was packed.

Played 5/29. 4 hour pace with a 9am tee time. Front nine was a little ragged. Tee boxes hadn't been mowed in a while, nor the fairways. Back nine was a little better maintained in those regards. Must have been mowing back from 18. Lots of standing water on the course. Left and back of green on #2 was a swamp as was path from cart path to green on #10. Balls would just plug. #4 was cart path only, as were a few other holes. Greens rolled true and were in generally good shape. Honestly, San Juan Hills is in better shape. Customer service was great. NOTE: THE RANGE DOES NOT OPEN TIL 9am on TUESDAYS! They should put that on their website. But, since the range was closed and we'd all arrived early to hit some balls, they did a good job of getting us out about 15 minutes before our scheduled time.

Greens have healed from aeration, but still kinda bumpy. Everything else was in good condition. Some bare spots here and there but still a great value. Wonderful customer service.

Played 4/26. Walked right on. Great pace of play. Conditions are consistent with what they usually are here. Greens were bumpier than normal.

We play this course once or twice a year (Golf Extra and Birdie Card discounts). I'd agree with GK's assessment that for wanting to be a high end course (the fees are high), it doesn't really meet those high expectations. It's a beautiful setting although more homes are being built on the surrounding hilltops now. Lots of variety in the holes. Back nine plays tougher than the front with many blind approach shots either severly uphill or over ridges. The finishing hole doesn't reward decent shots. You hit a drive down the middle 220 and you still don't have a clear shot into the green. Tee boxes were mostly ripped up. Greens rolled true and were quick. Fairways are okay, but there's lots of yellow "weed" type grass mixed in with the green. Here's my biggest complaint about our experience on 3/26...we drove 70 miles to play the course and were using our "Birdie Cards" purchased through Roger Dunn. 40% discount. Well, there are three columns on the cards listing the participating courses. At the bottom of each column is an empty box with a number in it. Column 1: 20. Column 2: 30. Column 3:40. Well, Crosscreek is listed in column 1...so, the dude in the pro shop says it's only a 20% discount! It states "40% discount at all participating courses" on the card. This yahoo was claiming the number at the bottom of the column determined the percentage of discount, so therefore it was only 20%. Nonsense. We argued our point and he finally said "okay, I'll give you the 40% off, but I'm gonna get in trouble." Darn right you will, cuz I then proceeded to call the 800 number on the Birdie Card and we were right. It's 40% at all courses and Crosscreek has a signed contract with the Birdie card folks stating they will give that 40% discount. Birdie card guy was calling Crosscreek to set them straight. Guy who hassled us should get in trouble...for trying to rip us off. Also, their computers didn't work so you could only pay cash; there was no hot food in the snack bar. Not a very high end experience. I don't think we'll go back. Too far to drive to be told you're wrong when you're right.

You can take the aerification ! off. Only signs of aerification are the greens were a tad bumpy and slow. Great conditions and value for a muni.

Played 3/20. Walked on immediately. Always great customer service. Conditions are fabulous. Thick rough. Greens rolled real true. Now, if they could just get the bunkers consistent here (it's either hardpan or that overly fluffy beach sand) it'd be great. Also, tee boxes are unlevel in many places, but that's nothing new. Great place and conditions. They were painting the clubhouse and the restaurant was closed so if you're planning to eat there I'd check ahead of time.

Played Monday, 3/19. It's a great course. Rough was thick and lush. Lots of poa ana (sp) in the greens which made them slow and a little bumpy. Play was slow on the front, but sped up on the back. Great course and conditions (you all already know that!).

All I can say is...drag they're punching next week! The course is in great shape! Thickest I've seen the rough here. It was not good to be in it! Wonderful conditions. Very lush. Everything in great shape.

Played with the course superintendent today. They will aerate the greens last day of April, first day of May.
