Course still in great shape. The rough was thick and high. Really defines the fairways which were lush and in great shape. Awesome.

Played 2/26. I'm not a fan of this course, but got invited by my neighbor who loves it cuz the fairways are dead and so his drives roll a country mile. Fairways were just that; hardpan and dead. Greens were thin and hard. #5 was covered in an inch of sand; a crew of six workers were working on green #6, standing in middle of green as we hit approaches (hit one of them, ooops) and chattering and still working as we tried to putt. The only redeeming quality of this course is the pulled pork bbq afterwards. It is a nice setting with no homes on the course, but the conditions DO NOT warrant the $65 fee. And, everywhere you go there's somebody lookin' for a tip. They wanna carry your bags from the car. They jump on you before you even stop the cart at the end to clean your clubs, then they do a worse job than my 6 year old would and grimace when you only give them a buck. C'mon folks, it ain't pebble beach. As I've always said, Tijeras is in better shape (and cheaper with Creek Card) and San Juan Hills is in even better shape than here and half the price. No sour grapes. Just dont' think it's worth the coin.

What a difference six weeks makes! Six weeks ago this place was in some of the worst shape I'd seen (and I've been playing here for 6+ years). Walked on today and the course is lush and immaculate. Great job SJHills! Greens were a little bumpy, but nothing major. Fairways were incredibly lush. Rough is growing up. On some holes it defined the fairway very nicely. A little wet from the rain and it was cart path only, but I'm glad cuz it'll keep the fairways perfect (plus, I walk!). For $35, the best deal around. Too bad it couldn't play another 300 yards. At 6300 from the blues, there are really only two legitimate par fours at close to or just over 400 yards. Majority of par 4's are in the 340 yard range. Greens and elevation changes are what make this course tricky. With current conditions, a must play!

I had not played Chino Creek in maybe two years. I wasn't expecting much. I gotta say, it's in pretty decent shape. They obviously overseeded fairways this year. They were very green and playable. The greens were bumpy and slow, but in good condition. Not much rough to speak of. It's an interesting course with some elevation changes and some holes were you have to think (#17, downhill short par 5 with a creek running through it 250 yards from the tee; we laid up). For $27 to walk, it's a nice bargain and a decent day of golf. Nothing fancy, but not horrible either. The stats listed for the scorecard on this site are wrong. BLUE TEES are 6763 yards, 72.0 rating and 124 slope. WHITE TEES are 6296 yards, 69.9 rating and 120 slope.

Played Saturday before the superbowl. Cold and windy. Average conditions. Very slow play. It's an okay course...but, it's run by american golf so beware! Some good, tough, uphill par 5's.

Played 2/1/07. Good conditions considering the traffic it gets. Everything was in decent winter shape. Great customer service. Third time in a row I've walked on in less than 10 minutes.

Played 1/23/07. I'd say conditions aren't what we're used to here. It's been a rough, dry, cold winter and I'd say that is adding to the poor conditions. Greens were okay. Everything was just okay. Customer service is always very good here.

Played Monday, Jan 8th. Single walk on. Got out in less than half an hour. They're always great about getting singles out. Course conditions are usually very lush here in the winter and spring but I think the unusually dry winter is taking it's toll. Fairways were mostly hardpan. Lots of very dry, parched rock hard areas. Great for roll on drives, but like playing on concrete. No real rough to speak of. Bunkers, as always, very inconsistent. Either too fluffy like quicksand, or hard as a rock. Greens were in decent shape. Rolled very fast. Hard. Some ball mark problems, mostly on par threes. They're doing their best, but conditions not up to par with what normally are here. One minor complaint...started sent out a fivesome of women two groups in front of us. It took us three hours to play the front nine on a monday! The women were three holes behind the group in front of them. The marshall did scurry them along on the back. Nice of the starter to get that group out together, but it really backed up the entire course.

Conditions are fine. Greens are fairly fast and hard. Some areas were overwatered; some thin spots on fairways. But, overall, nothing to complain about.

Well, we made our annual trek to the scga. i dunno what to say. one would think the signature course of our golf association would be more presentable. entire course is dormant. dead fairways and rough. only positive was greens and traps, and both were perfect. these were the best greens i'd ever played. firm. smooth. perfect. but, sad that rest of course is very roughshod in winter. so many courses overseed and are beautiful because of it (goose creek comes to mind). i think scga should do the same. it's supposed to be the crown jewel of our golfing association. greeens were; everything else wasn't.

Thursday, 12/14, they punched the fairways. Not too intrusive.

Great golf course. Some of the greens were the worse for wear. #5 green was really beat up. But, it's a fabulous place to play. EZ to walk. Cheap. Great conditions.
