Played the course in a tournament Sunday, July 2nd. Expected a slow round and got it! 2 hours, 40minutes for front nine-and it got slower from there with waiting on virtually every hole. I always try to get out on Brookside around 7:00 AM to get in a good round. Anything after that has always been torture. A fun course to play, though. One of the best City/County courses around-but just too slow to fully enjoy. Course was in very good shape for the amount of play it sees.

Played #1 Sunday June 25 twilight. Started at 3:30 and finished at 8:10p. Greens were even and nice. Pace was average but could have been faster if the threesome infront of us used common sense. Please do not play from the blues if you can't drive more than 180. And then please do not wait on your 200+ yd "approach" shot, if you can't reach it off of a tee, then your not going to make it with your 100 yd shanked iron shot. Overall the course was nice. One tip: Bring "Bug Off" or some sort of knat repellant if you are there a dusk. I spent the last three holes with a cigerette in my hand to keep the knats out of my face, and I don't even smoke.

Played course #1 Sat. Fairways are in good shape. Greens are slow due to aeration - not bad... playable. Overall course is not that interesting... just bid longer than other public courses. Comparable to Diamond Bar. Didn't play at this course for long time since they raise the green fees. Green fees are too high for this course - $48 to walk. Too expensive for this course! I will pick Diamond Bar anytime. A hotdog with a drink cost me $7.00. What a rip-off! Gave me reasons again why I didn't want to play at Brookside. One thing good about the whole experience was, Chi Chi - the starter was very nice and courteous. Thumb up for Chi Chi!

I had a tee time at 2:15 on 6/1/06. I was stoked to play until I found out that I had to pay the regular rate (not TW rate). Appartently the TW rate is not 2:00 pm but 2:30. I was pissed because if I had paid the regular rate, I would of paid an extra $25.00 to sit in the golf cart to wait to tee off after 2:30 pm. There was a tournament going on course 1, so course 2 was backed up. I know its not the starter's fault (or is it?), because he said everything is computerized in terms of the register. I mean Brookside is a good deal and all, but to get charged $25.00 extra to sit in a cart for 15 minutes and then tee off during Super TW is ridiculous. The guys who make the decisions need to re-think this policy. Other than that, course was in great shape.

Played 6/3 (Saturday) tee off at 7:15 finshed at fricken 12:30. Big gaps in course. In one case one group was TWO holes behind and the group behind them was ONE hole behind. Come on Brookside (American Golf) send a marshall out on the course. We did not see one all FIVE + hours we were out there. What a shame, just so thay don't piss off some SLOW group by telling them to speed it up, they have the hole course behind the slow group PISSED OFF. JUST KEEP UP WITH THE GROUP IN FRONT OF YOU!

Played here Saturday 6/3: Course is in good shape but I was a little underwhelmed after reading so many people saying it's in the best condition ever. It's in good shape, but I think it looked more lush last time I was there for a UCLA game last November. There were big sections of grass clippings sitting around in certain areas just off the fairway. I thought the greens were a little slower than they look, although they still rolled pretty good.

Oh my god!!! I can't believe how many gnats there were constantly flying in my face and under the brim of my hat. The fairway clippings were blown only about 5- 10 feet off the fairway, and in some cases the clippings were still on the fairways- very sloppy. We teed off at about 6:40 (although my tee time was 6:52- I barely pay and they are already calling me up to the tee box- I had to scramble to put on my shoes and sneak in a few practice putts). It took about 4 hours and 15 minutes to play on a Friday morning. The greens are soft on the approach shots, but the putts play like glass. I liked the snack shop before hole 12 (it allowed for a quick bite without running into a clubhouse). There isn't much water and only a moderate amount of sand traps. All-in-all, Brookside #1 is an attractive course, but the distractions and sloppy clippings totally distracted me.

The best condition I've seen the course in years! Nice to see that some effort is being put into this wonderful old style course. Too bad that too many people play from the "tips" which doesn't help to speed up play. For most of us, 6732 is all the course we can handle, yet I see 20+ index players playing from the tips? No problem provided that they keep pace.

Played Thursday 5/18, walked up to put my name on the list and starter said there a threesum on the T if you want to go now, so I did. A great day for a walk and all of the course is in great shape. Took a little over 4 hrs. to play, not bad for course #1.
