We played El Dorado Park last Saturday, 29, 2015, had a 6:52AM but actually had the tee at 7:03AM. There was a fivesome in front of us who kept a good pace- never a problem. We finished pretty close to 11:20AM.

We were pleasantly impressed with El Do's conditions. The greens were good, softer than I've been used to, but rolled well in a smooth but not so fast- very enjoyable to putt on. The fairways are okay. I don't remember being in any bunkers, but it looks like it had good sand quality and application.

All in all, we had a great time here. Will be back again...hopefully.

Back to El Do for this Friday's round with a bud who likes to sleep in, so we went off at 8AM (on time) and finished 4.5 hrs later with a bit of waiting, mostly on par 3's. Greens rolling nice and in very good condition, no issues other than a few poorly repaired marks. In 3 bunkers today, all maintained and very playable. Fairways holding up during this drought and heat, and man it was hot today. Never had a bad lie, but venture into the rough and it's hit or miss. Walked it, but drank a lot of fluids.

I know El Do get bashed for slow play cuz they let 5-somes go out, but not much we can do about that ... it just feels better after we let off some steam. There are many clueless golfers out there, too, gotta roll with the punches.

Nice track in good condition. Recommended.

If you are headed out on a weekend, realize you might get caught behind a 5some or two. I like the layout but have never been here when we got out within a 1/2 hour of our scheduled tee time.

POP excellent for 12:52 tee time on a Friday ($30 on GN), just over 4 hours! Greens very soft and tons of unrepaired ball marks, very bumpy, but conditions in general very good.

Teed off at 8:30am on Tuesday 7/28 and finished in 4.5 hrs. The Greens are in good condition. They rolled smooth at medium/fast pace and held shots. The fairways are in good condition with a few thin spots. The rough is in good condition with some thin spots. The bunkers were in good condition with plenty of sand. I was impressed with the overall condition of the course considering it is a muni that gets a lot of play. Eldo is a flat course with large mature trees lining the fairways. Water comes into play on several holes. If riding in a cart there is basic GPS with yardages only. The staff was friendly.

El Dorado can play slow if you're not able to go out early. I got my tee time thru the SCGA website for $36 non-res on a Friday, 6:52am. With minimal waiting we got around in 4:10 ... not too shabby... Continue »

El Dorado can play slow if you're not able to go out early. I got my tee time thru the SCGA website for $36 non-res on a Friday, 6:52am. With minimal waiting we got around in 4:10 ... not too shabby. When we walked off 18 the place was packed. Conditions are about as good as El Do can get, tee to green, no kidding. The Poa greens are soft enough to hold about any decent shot and rolling ever so true and quick ... very few ball marks other than our own. From #8 to 18, they are near immaculate. I've found that Friday is a good day to play here as the maintenance crew was out in force: everything was mown and bunkers were looking real nice ... was fortunate to not be in any today so cannot comment on playability but my playing partners were getting out and saving par, so they couldn't be too bad. If you can get out here and play, it's worth the effort. Just remember, early time = good conditions and PoP. Later times = slower PoP and spike marks. Recommended ... cheers!

Conditions were about what to expect at all times, really. Tee boxes and fairways are nice and green with some divot damage. Rough was sort of all over the place with greenside being mostly thick kikuyu and next to the fairways being lots of different things. Greens were rolling well with too many ball marks. Bunkers were American Golf dirt-scape/dried catbox sand or whatever they use. POP was a sleep inducing 5.5 hours. Love the rate of $38 and you're getting a good course for the price. If you HATE slow play though... well you're going to be disappointed.

I didn't think it deserved >7 "great" though.] Decent place, I probably should play here more and skip Skylinks. I think its a bit overrated based on the scores others have posted. I'd only preface those ratings as saying "based on comparable priced muni courses". I was a bit surprised how green it was. The El Dorado Park area has plenty of reclaimed water, and its being put to good use not just here, but the surrounding park area. Its rather nice - lots of trees, decent grass. Greens are very muni like though. As for the course itself, its seems pretty pedestrian to me. But its a great value, and the pro shop staff is nice.

Had to get out to El Do again since the conditions are very good ... and it's HOT inland. Greens are as good as Poa can get, soft but rolling medium / fast. Very few bare areas in fairways, mostly green and semi-lush ... always had a good lie. Rough can be deep and penal the farther you venture from the cut. Bunkers that I visited were excellent today but some looked wet/thin at the lowest points. Slow play can kill this place though ... 5-somes allowed, we got around in 4.5 as a walking five but we teed off at 6:45AM. I'm sure it was much slower later in the day. Highlight of the day: no coots (thanks Mark & Callaway!). Recommended.
