Played this morning in a POP of 3.5 hours. Course is getting ready to aerate the 1/2 of the greens that were done two weeks ago. The half already done is healing very nicely, but the greens are slow (currently not cut short) and soft due to upcoming aeration. Tee boxes were all fine. Sand traps appeared fine. Fairways are looking like a patch work quilt (brown/green) no doubt due to the watering restrictions course is facing. But they are giving good roll and lies (some thinner than others) and causing no problems. Rough off of fairways is a problem as the grass is like wire when you are in it. Customer service was excellent at all levels. Be advised that 4/27 course is having a tournament and no tee times available.

Played this morning in 4 hours. Would have been faster but the group in front of us, would follow the marshals input then forget about it when he left. 1/2 of the greens have been punched and the second half next week. Actually the punched side is healing very fast. But they need to keep the greens wet, so they are somewhat soft, but playable. Rest of the course from tee to green looks great. I hate to see what will happen when the watering is cut back like the state has mandated? As the fairways (IMO) are looking very nice right now. But I believe, L V has the right superintendent to deal with it (go get em Scott). Customer service was excellent. And we thank the marshal (Russ) for trying to move things along. BTW: shotgun tournament on Friday the 10th and no tee times available.

Played on Saturday, 8:20 tee time, 3/28/15. Almost perfect weather greeted us at LV, where I had never been able to play in the morning. I got lucky with the tee time, and our foursome enjoyed a course with more than lush enough fairways, medium speed greens, and level tee boxes. Compared to my few prior rounds at LV, I was not waiting on every shot, and we finished in 5:10. Unfortunately, I found the sand more than a few times, and I had a terrible time in them; I don't think it was the quality of the sand but my hesitant bunker shot. Thankfully, the tee shots generally fit my eye, and I cranked some good ones out there. I hope to play again when a morning tee time can be had.

I just can't get too excited about the conditions at LV right now ... greens are real tight Poa in desperate need of aeration, they're super firm. Usually, Poa will grab any decent iron shot but not right now. Otherwise, they're rollin' semi-true (aeration schedule the end of March). Fairways are green so they are watering which is good to see, but there are some thin areas to play from where you can't take too much of a divot or risk breaking your shaft or your wrist. Leave the fairways and good luck ... it's all hardpan or strange looking grass/weeds/whatever to hit from. The drought again, wreaking havoc on our So Cal golf courses. PoP on a Sunday was 2 hrs front and 2.5 back. They just let too many glow ball groups out and back-niners. We had the second tee time but we were the 8th group out on the course. That means these people are teeing off almost one hour before sunrise .... crazy! AmGolf = gotta maximize that $

Friends in town and was able to secure tee time today. Not sure I wanted to play at that time (right after 9 AM) but that was what was available and they wanted to play. After yesterday's weather and course conditions, did not know what to expect (other than the weather which was fantastic). Course was cleaned up (top - bottom) and looked like a different place. Everything was green and in top condition (what a difference a day makes). In addition to great course conditions, we got around in 4.5 hours and that made the day, as well. Great customer service and hats off to the grounds crew for their course preparation. Every now and then life provides some good surprises and that was certainly the case today at L V.

Out today in a POP of 4 hours. Weather made it seem longer, with the wind and fog. Seemed like it was hard for everyone to get going this AM? But the marshal made sure the groups moved along and that was very helpful (thanks Craig). Course is playing well, but the greens today seemed to take on the mood of the weather (slower than normal and showing wear/tear). All other aspects of the course (tees, bunkers, rough, fairways) were in good playing shape. Again, great customer service at all levels.

POP today 4 exactly. Would have been faster, except I am sure we had some $$ games in front (either that, or they are really bad putters). Course is in great shape (IMO). All tees in great shape. Fairways clean and providing great roll (just keep it in the fairway, or else). Some rough, but you needed to be way off the fairway to find it (some did). Bunkers clean and playable. Greens were in just great shape. Holding shots, chipping well, putting fast (in all directions). Now is the time to play, before they punch the greens (shame they have to touch them in their current condition). Customer service excellent in all areas.

POP today 3.5. Nothing much different from last week, other than many of the tee boxes have been moved up (acceptable) to allow repair to occur on those over used tee areas. Overcast conditions only proved to be visually annoying but did not effect play. Not much maintenance going on today, so I did notice many bunkers still with footprints from those who played yesterday and never learned to use a rake? Greens were in good condition and providing good chipping and putting on all 18. More and more fairways are filling in with the warmer days. Customer service excellent at all levels.

POP today 3.5. Very windy on back nine but made playing 14/15 that much more enjoyable (downwind). Course is coming along nicely, now that cold weather is gone and the grass is growing in the fairways... Continue »

POP today 3.5. Very windy on back nine but made playing 14/15 that much more enjoyable (downwind). Course is coming along nicely, now that cold weather is gone and the grass is growing in the fairways. Customer service excellent at all levels. Tee boxes are still level and clean. Fairways are providing good roll out and better lies. Greens are in great shape and fast (especially today with the wind). Rough is available and gnarly in some (not all) areas. With the wind today, the views in every direction were outstanding.
