Played this morning in a great leisurely time of 3:15. Course is in good condition. Maintenance was out cleaning the greens and course (much appreciated). Tee boxes were all cleaned, as well as the fairways. Bunkers appeared clean, but still wet from the rain. Greens are in great shape, all except # 7 and # 17 which have some areas (does not effect putting) that appear to be fungus related? Marshal was out keeping the groups moving and customer service in the shop was spot on.

Off the tee at LV early. Got around in 4:20 with some waiting on the front but zipped through the back. Greens were lightly sanded today, rolled a tad on the slow side. Bunkers and tee boxes in nice shape. Fairways mown and most of the time we had good lies. Rough is patchy. Not much more to add.

Played today with a POP of 3.5 hours. Course was very badly beaten up from Veterans Day golf. Tee boxes were good but fairways were damp and muddy. Sand traps were being raked and appeared OK. Greens ... Continue »

Played today with a POP of 3.5 hours. Course was very badly beaten up from Veterans Day golf. Tee boxes were good but fairways were damp and muddy. Sand traps were being raked and appeared OK. Greens were a mess. Lots of damage from unrepaired ball marks. Weather was cool and damp helping to keep the course playing short. Customer service from coffee shop; pro shop and marshals was great as usual. Course needs some sunny, dry days to get itself back in shape.

And the reason he got done so early was because we were in front and we were done 30 minutes before him. You are very welcome (lol) And I hope you get better weather than this next month @ BD.

What I was impressed with was we had a 6:18 tee time, got off about 15 late and still was able to finish the round by 9:45. For Los Verdes, that is wonderful. Great weather, overcast, but pleasant, no wind, very calm. Just a nice day to stroll the links. Sure would love it if I got that weather next month when I go to Bandon Dunes. (Wishful thinking)

Played today in a great time of 4 hours with fantastic weather. You could actually see all of Catalina and the islands off of Santa Barbara. Course is in good condition. However, I did notice some very bad brown areas on # 8 and # 17. Hard to tell what it is or what caused it, but it does affect putting. Hope they can get that under control. They must also be watering quite a bit because the greens had many footprints around the hole, that where less than pleasant to putt through. Customer service from pro shop, restaurant and marshals was great.

Played Los Verdes early Monday. Mike from the pro shop got me out before the crowds so I was able to play alone and did not catch anyone until I caught a fivesome on #17. Even with that delay was able to zip around in under 2 1/2 hours, which for this course is unheard of. (Normally I anticipate 5 hours to play here )

I was impressed with the greens. They were excellent. Rolled true and were receptive to well struck shots. Lots of bare areas in the rough and adjacent to the fairways, which should not really come into play. Fairways were good in spots and no so good in others. Just fun to play this course, particularly when the pace of play was so good and the weather was near perfect. Makes me happy to be living in So Cal.

Blistering front 9 POP of 3 hours. Allow that to settle in folks. Only played the front 9 because of time of day I started. Starter was kind enough to mention to me that I wouldn't be able to finish given the tee time start but for me 9 was fine. Greens getting better. Tee boxes are level and flat; they rotate them well. Fairways are lush but bare in some spots especially around slopes. Rough is very deep and punishing. Bunkers are well stocked. Loads of wet spots on the course so mileage may vary with the shots you choose and the locations you want to hit. It's ironic that the group ahead of was complaining about slow play but as it turned out they were slow. We were a foursome (me walking) and they were in carts yet we were the ones pushing them. No matter. POP was expected to be slow and we were not disappointed. Play here again? Of course. I may complain about the pace of play but the conditions here are improving and the views are second to none considering I paid $36.50 to walk on a Saturday.
