This is the best muni golf course in southern Cal, for the price and quality of golf course, well maintained from tee to green. This golf course suits to only advance and low handicap golfers. If you are beginners this is not the one, you will hold up group behind you for sure. Undulating fairways on every hole and a lot of blind shots, quite narrows fairways due to course location in the middle of the city. I will return for more. Started 2:45 and not finish 18th...is a ashame...

This course has a little bit of everything to challenge all levels of play. Dog legs, uneven lies, elevation changes, uphill/downhill lies and elevated tees. There are no water hazards on this course but trees line every fairway. There are also a few holes where positioning is key off the tee to play clear shots into the greens.

I live just minutes away from the course and I have never seen it in such great condition. This course is green right now!! Aside from a small 'ground under repair section' in the middle of the 10th fairway, the fairways and areas around the greens were lush. Your putts will roll true on the greens cuz they are smooth n fast with very little ball marks.

The time window I mentioned above is the way to go and if you're in the area around before 4pm(any later and you'll be teeing off in the dark on the 18th), and if you have your bag in the trunk like I know you do, then you need to get to Rancho. A course in this condition is an exceptional value.

We had a 9:30 tee time but still managed to play in about 5 hours. Which is not bad on a Sunday and at Rancho Park. I always enjoy this course and I think it's one of the best if not the best municipal course in LA.

GREENS ARE PRETTY FIRM AND DECENTLY FAST(FOR A CITY PUBLIC COURSE). FINISHED THE ROUND IN LESS THAN 5 HOURS DUE TO HAVING A TEE TIME RIGHT AFTER A SHOTGUN TOURNAMENT. ALWAYS ENJOY PLAYING HERE, SINCE IT HAS A SOLID LAYOUT. CONDITIONS WERE DECENT. NOT AS MANY PEOPLE ON THE COURSE LIKE THEY USUALLY DO. IM NOT SURE IF ITS BECAUSE OF THE INCREASED GREEN FEE. THEIR IS NOW A RESIDENT AND NON RESIDENT GREEN FEE.

Played on Wed 6\25 at 8:00am. Golf course was in great shape. If you want to play the best municipal course, play here. Play was a little slow but is worth the wait.

Played on June 21. Good conditions, pace of play wasn't too bad. Just over 5 hrs (tee time 7:30ish) Greens are in good condition. Not fast but rolled smoothe. Hard to get a tee time so I am always thrilled to play here. Wilson and Rancho are by far the best LA City courses.

Played Sat, June 14th. Had not played at Rancho for about 10+ years. Must say that the overall playing conditions were in great shape. Greens were putting true. Fairways were very respectable. Tee boxes, except for 2-3, were kept nicely. HOWEVER, spending 5 hours 45 minutes for a round of golf is RIDICULOUS! The front nine took over 3 hours to play. Some holes (2nd & 3rd) had 3 groups just waiting to hit off the tee. It sucks when you can't get into any groove waiting that long between shots. Hate to say, but it might be another 10 years before I come back.

Played on Tuesday June 3rd as the 2nd group out at twilight and finished all 18!! The course was in great shape...the greens are rolling well and the fairways actually look good right now....wouldnt know how the bunkers were as I didnt end up in one. The teeboxes are in good shape....but overall I am still in awe at finishing before dark and without a wait on ANY HOLE!!??!!! I am only playing twilight here from now on!

Great track, always a pleasure to play here, must shape your shots to score. I was surprised how fast the greens were running today, i know you might not believe me; but it was rolling like a 9 on the stimpmeter.

As usual there were a few idiots on the course who didn't belong out there. Honestly the county should start screening people and not let people out until they've put their time and practiced at the range.

all in all a fun place to play if you have patience. very difficult to get any rhythm.
