Teed it up with GK'er Nickequire to try this course for the first time since I was in area. We got out around 5:00pm and finished in 2 hours. Fun, interesting and in fact challenging executive 9 hole course. 5 par 4’s and 4 par 3’s evenly spaced. I thought the course was in great shape. Greens, although with a few scattered thin/bare spots putted well. Mostly smooth, held shots and medium speed. Fairways, lush. Rough, mostly lush. Bunkers, excellent with high quality sand. Tee boxes a little chewed up and some not very level but to be expected for an executive course in a canyon. I thoroughly enjoyed myself on this short track. Some of the par 3’s required mid to long irons while all the Par 4’s were open enough to give it a smack (beside hole 1) and then hit a short iron in. I hit many more clubs in my bag than I originally expected too. My only issue and I’m not sure the golf course can do much about this, is they need to trim down the over growth in the creek. On 4 of the holes the creek significantly obstructs your view of the green or fairway. Once trimmed down, the sight-lines overall will be beautiful. Would really enhance the experience. As it stands, even with some obstructed views, it’s still a very fun course to play. Wish it were local to me. Highly recommend if in the area and need a quick round.

1st time playing here, played the Blues (2199/30.8/114) with JohnnyGK twilight in around 2H on a very busy Thur. evening. Weather was excellent, fairly hot with a little breeze, thanks to Jim & Nick for having us out! Interesting & fun short course tucked away in a canyon. Five par 4's, four par 3's. Odd holes are par 4's, even holes are par 3's, nice to rotate every hole on a short course. Longest hole is 318 yards, but there is plenty of trouble with a creek that runs down the middle of the course that can come into play on all 9 holes plus deep native areas off many fairways. 2 of the par 4's are layup holes, the other 3 longer hitters could take aim at driving up close to the green. All the par 3's were interesting holes, the overall layout was among the best I have ever played for a short, executive course. The tees were average, tough to keep them in good shape when many players may be using an iron off nearly every hole. An interesting concept they have implemented that I have never seen elsewhere is practice mats beside every tee. Rather than taking divots on multiple practice swings, they offer mats for your practice swings to keep the tee boxes as lush as possible. Both the fairways & the rough were mostly lush, occasionally thin with good coverage. Very playable. The sand traps were very good, nice quality sand. Some of the better traps I have ever played on a shorter course. The greens overall were very good. They putted better than they looked since a couple had some bare spots. Firm, fairly smooth and medium fast. Short course where many people are going to be hitting lofted clubs into greens, so the normal issue of too many players not fixing their ball marks was an issue. Very well stocked pro shop and the customer service was excellent. $22 to walk 9 holes twilight is high by my standards but probably not high for this area. A couple of the par 3's have almost blind tees shots where the green is located just on the other side of the creek. The native brush is high around the creek, which obscures the tee shot view. If the course could trim that back (not even sure it would be allowed from an environmental perspective), then the par 3's would be very aesthetically pleasing here. Overall, loved the experience, would not hesitate to come back if I were in the area and wanted to get in a fun 9 holes.

Played here on fathers day with my daughter and couple of friends and it was packed . The course is in better than usual shape for this place and the new landscaping plan to remove some brushy areas seems to have worked out nice the greens are in good shape and the sand is of good quality. The tee boxes are still a bit rough but that's a small thing.
Im considering playing here more often ever thou it kinda expensive for nine holes . The pro shop its well stocked and the outdoor bar and restaurant seem nice

I was pretty tough on this place last time I reviewed it and the attitude has gotten better the course is still unique and fun but still way over priced. The conditions a fair greens are decent and fairways are average. If you got the e mail about th r redesign don't believe it the tee boxes still pinot all over. Its a fun 9 holes but not a great value so give it a try if you can get as deal

I have been playing here for 30 years and the course is in pretty good condition and by cutting back some of the trees they have made it a bit easier. I enjoy played here and hope to do so in the future as its a good test of all parts of the game and the fact its 9 holes with no par 5s means it goes pretty quick yet always seems to be enough to satisfy.
With this said I will tell you customer service and the cost to play here is insulting. I know they stopped any kind of smoking on the facility and parking lot and thats gonna piss a few people off but they also dont let carts out for twilight at a ridiculously early hour and the food beverage service is expensive as hell and bad. I know this should be a review of the golf course but many a day on the course can be ruined by poor service and this is the worst I have ever seen . I dont care how good a course is it wont make up for the poor treatment the staff dish out . For example expect to find a dance floor within INCHES! of the first tee complete with live music and guests on some afternoons. Also I know they dont have a driving range and a net and mats are provided and traditional they have charged for its use but at over 40.00 bucks for nine holes and over 30.00 for twilight walking they could throw in a small warm up bucket in . I was told by the marshal who now carries a badge like he is a park ranger or something that they dont care whether non hotel guests play here or not. I was also told that in the near future joggers and campers will given priority over golfers. I will certainly play here a lot less in the future and unless something changes here may not play at all . If the people that run this place now prefer drunk couples in street shoes with rental clubs to golfers that have given it steady business during all its many ups and downs then best of luck. I can no longer recommend this golf course to any real golfer and the folks that run this place now should remember the are one good flood from a wrecked property and the locals may not be around to bail them out with green fees and tax dollars

Despite living within 10 miles of this course for the past 33 years, I'd never played here until yesterday afternoon with sixpez. His review seemed a little harsh to me, but then again, I can't take executive courses all that seriously anyway, so maybe I wasn't paying all that much attention. For the whole course being aerified, I didn't think it played too badly tee to green. The greens were VERY sandy, however, and also punched with large holes. To the course's credit, they warned us it would be like this when we made our tee time earlier in the week and also reduced the green fees because of it.

Aside from the aeration, this is a little gem of a course. Because it's tucked in a canyon, it got dark early, which diminished its beauty in some places. I look forward to playing here again sometime, hopefully earlier in the day. The par 3s are quite demanding, especially #8, which, from the blue tee, required about a 200-yard carry over the creek to a slightly elevated green. The par 4s are all short, so it's just a matter of keeping the ball in play on those on this tight little course.

Played here this evening with itslikeimsayin and his son. We knew the course had been aerated earlier this week, but it was in very rough shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are all punched. Fairways are very dried out and brown. Rough almost non-existent. Greens heavily sanded and punched. However, they were very soft and receptive on approaches. The course will need at least a few weeks to recover I think.

We teed off about 5:00 and finished just barely before it got too dark. Pace was slow out there as it was much busier than we expected. They did charge a slightly reduced rate ($15 to walk) because of the aeration, which was nice even though the course was in much rougher shape than we hoped.

I know this can be a beautiful little course set back in a canyon with Aliso Creek running through almost every hole. All the par-4s are short and relatively easy as long as you don't try to be too aggressive off the tee. Three of the par-4s play very long and tough from the blue tees (over 190 yards with plenty of trouble in play). One par-3 (#6) is short, but is a beautiful and fun hole over the creek. I look forward to coming out here again when the course is in better shape.

Played May 1 and course conditions were great. Well maintained course, nice pro shop and good food service. It is a fun place to play for all levels of handicap. The par 3 eighth hole at over 200 yards requiring a 185 yard carry over Aliso Creek is a real test.

What a pleasant surprise to find such a jewel tucked back in a beautiful canyon.

I have actually played this course several times over the last 20 years and enjoyed every single one of them.
Only 9 holes but a nice mix of tight and open fairways. Green speeds seem to vary from a little slow to a little fast so learning them helps to improve the score. Most roll pretty true.
Fairways and bunkers (I try to avoid them) are usually in very nice shape.
The scenery is such a pleasant change from what we usually see.
Regardless of how well I score or don't score, I always enjoy a round of golf here.
