Played here this morning. They just did the greens yesterday and while they were punched they were very clean. So while putting was not optimal it was acceptable (we even had some birdies). Fairways had all been mowed and provide good lies and nice roll out for the first time in awhile. Tee boxes were all playable. Traps all clean and playable. Great customer service from Adam, Brian and Mike as always. Will not rate due to recent aeration.

Played this AM and not much to report different from last week. I do wish they would regulate their sprinkler system based on weather patterns. Course is way over watered IMO. Biggest issue is # 15 green. Today we were told by the marshal just as we were getting ready to play the hole, it had a temporary green. No notice in the pro shop or starter shack. The green is suffering once more from something? It happened last year as well and seems to be a particular problem with this hole only. The course was built on the Brea Olinda Oil fields and perhaps that has something to do with it as they still pump on the property. In any event the purpose of this post was to alert anyone who was planning to play, check with the pro shop and see if what the current status is. Given the price to play (public, senior, players club) and no discount for this situation, one might want to know ahead of time.

Played this AM. Lots of water as expected with the heat coming in. Tee boxes were all fine and playing from their normal spots after some had new sod put in. No roll on the fairways early, though they provided good lies. By the time we reached back 9 they started to provide roll as they dried out. Bunkers were damp early and much more playable based on my playing partners comments. Rough was all playable throughout the course. Greens were soft/spongy early on, but came alive on the back allowing for some good birdies. Did notice that #15 is beginning to be a problem once again like last year. Check in smooth with Adam in the shop and with Brian as the starter as usual. With the cool weather coming back next week the course should firm up some more and be really fast and furious. One can hope. We have come to grips with the $69 for Sr and really have been hard pressed to find other courses that can match up at present. But we will continue to search. Given economic conditions at present, I certainly hope we don't see fees rise again later in the year or going into 2023.

Played this AM. What a difference cool weather makes. Course is in nice shape everywhere. Tee boxes all clean/level. Redoing sod on # 5 and 10 white tees. Fairways were clean, dry and provided good lies and roll out all round. Bunkers were all clean and playable. Greens were all in good shape. Devoid of divots (saw marshal and maintenance repairing them ahead of us) and chipped/putted great all morning. Great check in with Adam in shop and Brian in starter shack. Recommended.

Played this AM. Very wet conditions made for a long course today. Tee boxes were all playable. Fairways had good coverage but being wet they gave no roll (be glad to see the hot weather disappear). Traps were all clean and playable and no issues. Not much rough to speak of but there is the always present OB, water, small canyons to deal with throughout the course). Greens were in nice shape (except for # 15 which is beginning to show wear/tear again and hope it can be minimized) but they were damp and putted slow, so that had to be taken in to consideration. Always great customer service from Pro shop, starter and cart personnel.

Also the ground crew is not respectful with the machinery when in proximity to golfers. The course itself is in great looking shape other than the wetness. I am sure playing later in the day the course is much more enjoyable. Customer service excellent at check in with Matt and Brian.

Tee boxes were all playable. Greens were wet the entire round and putted very slow. I understand watering when it is hot? But hot the last few days and coming days it ain't. As always great customer service from Adam in the pro shop and the starter (did not get his name) who filled in for Brian today.

Out early this AM to beat the heat. Course is in good condition given all the warm weather. Tee boxes all playable. Fairways had good coverage and roll, even with the early morning dampness. Traps had all been cleaned and playable. Greens chipped/putted just fine all round. Easy and fast check in with shop and starter. As a reminder. Every 2nd Tuesday of the month. The Los Coyotes womens club plays a shotgun tournament, that starts at 7 AM. Even if you start at 5:30 you will be stalled by the time you reach the back 9. Today was not that Tues but I wanted to pass that info along.

Hello, out Friday June 24th for a round at Coyote Hills with a 7:10am tee time joining 3 other individuals that play frequently at Coyote Hills. I will preface my review by saying that this is not one of my favorite courses as I find the front 9 very claustrophobic. The back 9 has grown on me as I have played here more often recently.

Called to the tee before our time and tee'd off a few minutes early. My playing partners should give a clinic on playing ready golf. I struggled at first as I found the start at Coyote very challenging and I was having difficulties keeping up with my partners. Courses conditions were acceptable but for $119 on a Friday, they should be more than acceptable in my opinion. Tee boxes had good coverage and were generally level with a few thin spots, fairways were very nice and provided good roll-out, bunkers actually had sand and were good to hit from, greens were very soft with large divots made when hitting anything remotely high, as a result there were a fair amount of ball marks. Green speeds were not overly fast, but seemed consistent throughout the round.

As I mentioned previously, my partners were ready golfers and we finished the front nine in less than 2 hours. Caught up to folks on the back and did more waiting, but still finished 18 in a little over 4 hours. Pace of play is a big issue with me and these folks showed how it is possible to play quickly without rushing. In fact, the older gentlemen took a lot of practice swings. However, there was no idle chit-chat between holes, if you were ready you hit regardless if you were away or not (and there was no danger to your playing partners). The woman (so sorry, never really got her name) was a Ready Golf Champion, frequently walking ahead to hit her ball but not interfering with anyone. If she was ready to putt, she putted. My hat is off to you folks and I told them so after the round. Well done and thank you.

I recommend Coyote Hills, I just wish the conditions were a little better for the amount paid or for the conditions the rate was a little more reasonable. Go play!
