Played here first time Dec 19th in afternoon. I'm from NorCal so was anxious to do a little compare. First off, staff was excellent from shop, to range, starter & cart girl who we saw 3x which was sufficient. Much has already been said about conditions which are what they are but I really like the layout where I don't think any hole is the same, it's a thinking golfer's course. Value was not there for me as a non-member. I paid $150 w/cart to play in the afternoon and on Tuesday I had played Poppy Hills in Pebble for $125 with cart (afternoon rate). Poppy is many tiers above Coyote Hills, no where close. POP was slow too, much waiting on most holes.

Played Coyote Hills on 11/5. Fun layout and good customer service. First time getting to use the all-in Senior deal which is nice.

Conditions leave me shaking my head though. Greens are pretty good, a little shaggy but still roll pretty well. But with the shaggy, footprints are a problem.

I hate the fairways. Yes, it has grass on it, but they are hard as rocks. It is like hitting off the worst possible range mats. And I still hit 16 GIRs, but maybe only because I practice on awful range mats a lot.

Tee boxes are pretty bad. Just not enough grass at all. Looks like they have done some recent maintenance, so maybe it will improve.

Sand traps look very nice, but I was in 2, and both times there was about 1/2" of nice sand and then it bottomed out

I'll give it a slight recommendation. Fun course to play, but enough issues to make me hesitate.

Played this AM. Course is and has recovered nicely from aeration. The greens have healed nicely and are about 90% but they chipped/putted just fine. They have done the tee boxes since I last played on the 17th but we found no issues with them. Fairways damp when we started so not much roll but by the back 9 they were rolling out just fine. No issues with the bunkers they played just fine. Same great service in the Pro shop from Esther and starter Brian as well as the staff in the restaurant.

Played this AM in a great 2:45 POP. Greens and tee boxes were done this past Monday but the aeration and clean up was some of the best I have seen. The tee boxes were clean and though you could still see the punch holes there was no problem finding a good spot to tee from. Fairways were clean, firm and gave great roll out in addtion to clean and good lies. If one kept it in the fairway the rough was never an issue. Traps were all clean and very easy to play from. Greens had been punched but they were exceptionally clean so chipping and putting was good though they were slow. They were also soft so you could go flag hunting w/o fear which was nice. Great service at check in and with the starter. I have said in the past that the cost for Sr's seems high but with the prices I have encountered at the many courses I have played in the past 3 weeks with those courses raising their prices the $70 w cart for a course in this condition is not totally unreasonable. Let's just hope they don't go any higher?

Out this AM early to beat the heat. POP 3H and it was getting warm. Course is in protection mode from the heat keeping the course really wet. But really the only issue was the fairways did not roll out as much and the greens putted slow. So you could take greater chances with your driver on many holes and really fire at the pins with the greens being soft. Tee boxes were all playable and so were the sand traps which were clean and groomed. Customer service in the shop, starter and restaurant were terrific. I will be back next month when hopefully the weather has cooled down and the course is playing fast and loose.

Played here on the 8/15/24, first time playing here. Probably the toughest round I’ve played outside of certain weather conditions. Not too long but pretty narrow, never a simple lie. Ball is always above or below your feet, fairways were pretty soft. A lot of elevated tees that are pretty fun, just don’t miss the fairways. Sand traps were a little light on sand but I feel most public courses are. Maintenance crews were seemingly on most holes so I know they’re putting money back into it. A lot of tee boxes were being repaired, only one green was punched/sanded. For $100 I was happy with what I got other than the score. All in all the staff was good and it’s a pretty awesome course, hope to play it again when it cools down a bit

Played yesterday. Course is in good shape from tee to green. A little wet early with all the warm weather but the course drains really well, and we had no issues. Tee boxes all playable. Fairways clean and good roll out. Traps are nice and playable. Not much rough to deal with but some OB, streams, culverts and hillsides can cause some issues. Greens were all great to putt on and pretty much devoid of divots or divot damage. As I have said before $70 for a Sr rate is IMO high but customer service and course conditions are excellent so once or twice a month does not hurt too much. Great service from the starter Brian and the Ambassadors/Marshals who keep things moving for great POP.

Played this AM. While the course was very wet from watering it played just fine. Tee boxes playable. Traps all clean and playable. Fairways still had good lies/roll. Greens dried out really fast and had good speed and good putting surfaces all round. POP was right on 3 hours and we did not rush. Even had time to take advantage of the $7 breakfast special.
