PLAYED HERE WITH A TRAVELING TOURNAMENT GROUP ON SUNDAY. WE DID GET STARTED ON-TIME AND OVERALL THE PACE OF PLAY WAS GOOD FOR A WEEKEND.
THE OVERALL COURSE IS GOOD, BUT NOT EXCITING. THE TEE BOXES ARE GOOD, BUT SOME ARE ALITTLE SLOPED, AND A FEW HAD ALOT OF UN-REPAIRED DIVOTS. THE FAIRWAYS ARE WIDE OPEN WITH NICE TREE LINES, YOU CAN RECOVER FROM ANOTHER FAIRWAY IF NEEDED. THE ROUGH IS KEPT AT A PLAYABLE HEIGHT. SAND TRAPS ARE STRATEGICALLY PLACED WITH SOME HOLES, AND THER QUALITY OF SAND IS GOOD, NOT TOO GRITTY OF STONEY. THE GREENS COULD HAVE BEN ROLLED-OUT, BECAUSE ON MANY HOLES, THEY SEEM VERY BUMPY, EVENTHOUGHT YOU GET LOW TO LOOK, YOU REALLY CAN SEE THE BUMPINESS UNTIL YOUR BALL IS ROLLING, WHICH IT DOES THROW YOUR PUTT EITHER OFF LNE OR MAKES YOUR PUTT COME SHORT.
I WOULDN'T MAKE THSI A REGULAR WEEKLY OR MONTH COURSE TO PLAY, BUT OUR GROUPS DOES BOOK IT ANNUALLY, SO, ONE TIME A YEAR IS FINE.

Leave your driver at home. This course is extremely short. They have multiple Par 4s in the mid-250 yard range. Interestingly, I wasn't tempted to go for any of them. For one, I didn't want to hold up play waiting for the group ahead to finish the hole. Secondly, the greens are tiny, hard and crowned. Its not really worth the risk or the time.

I have problems keeping my concentration on courses like Meadowlark. If you miss a fairway you aren't punished much, if at all. There are several holes separated by less than 20 yards of rough. You can easily play out of opposite fairways assuming its not one of the holes lined by white stakes. You're almost better off landing off the fairways, which were bare in several spots. The greens weren't in bad shape. They were hard and extremely small with the added challenge of being crowned. Not sure if you would want them to be much bigger though. It matched the course well and added some challenge to the round.

Overall, this is a good course to work on your wedge game but there's not much else to challenge the slightly above average golfer. It was reasonably priced, had a nice breeze and the beer was relatively cheap.

I don't know if I would pay $53 to ride again. But I did have fun.

As usual a 5 hr round but it moved smoothly not too much waiting and the course was in good shape.

Overall, the course was in good condition. I had to look for a level spot on the tee boxes, but they were there. The sand was a little chunky, but I've been in worse. Played early, so I had no pace of play issues. Basically, I enjoyed the course and the round. I had trouble on the back 9, but I checked the USGA web site and found that the slope on the front is only 108, but the back is 122. No wonder I always start strong on this course and fade on the back.

As always, course should be simple but never play well here. If you like this course, now would be a good time to play but be prepared for a long round. My personal favorite here... the $5.25 hot dog combo. Best in OC in my opinion.
