only played the front nine, this course is in really bad shape, the fairways are terrible, the rough has ten different types of grasses. The bunkers were pretty good, the greens were undulated and slow, and a little bumpy. Layout of holes dictates slow play. Overall, there are many better choices out there. Not worth the green fee.

WHAT A DUMP !!!! I haven't played this course in over a year and I won't be going back. The Tee boxes are destroyed, the fairways are bald in many spots, the greens are way to soft. This should not be a difficult course but the fact that it is in such bad shape makes it difficult. If you smash a drive right down the middle you would expect to have a good lie for a second shot to the green, but instead you find your ball on a bald spot or on one of the ten different types of grasses. The only good quality is the pace of play and that's because nobody else is on the course because they already heard what a dump it is.. STAY AWAY !!!!!

Decided to play RSJ on a whim since they lowered their rates and twilight time. Staff at shop was nice. Haven't played this course for some time and it was pretty much how I remember it. It's a walkable course. Thin/patchy fairways and decent greens. Pace was surprisingly good for the front 9 and slowed down on the back. The layout is interesting and wind can be a factor but because of the greens fees are a little high I don't see myself comming back that often. Also, I noticed the course marshal doesn't have water. It was a cool day but just an FYI if you're here on a hot day.

Back playing Rancho again after a knee injury. Booked my tee time at the course's web site and got a great deal. Course was mostly in good shape. The greens were smooth but not terribly fast. Fairways are looking much better than before, it looks as if they have done some work on a few of the holes like #10 and #9. No more bare spots in the fairway, which is great. Irvine must have the best weather, late afternoon is a great time to play here. The sunset view is beautiful from the bar but they need bigger TV's. Employees were friendly, helped me change my cleats.

Have not played here in over four years, and now I remember why. The fairways were not good!, bunkers very inconsistant and the greens were decent but not good. The staff was tremendous, but very crowded - lots of people out there. I guess because it is one of the more economical course in south OC? There is nothing really bad about this place, it's just there are so many better places to play!

Played the course on 05/01. Course conditions were good with the exception of the greens. I'm not sure whether it was because it was late in the afternoon but the green surfaces were like golf balls. Putts were definitely not rolling true. I enjoy this track and pace of play was good, finished in 4.5 hours. Some bald spots on the fairways but its to be expected on a high mileage public course. Overall it was still a fun day, just need to roll those greens flat.

Hi everyone. I played the golf course today to get a feel for what the customer will experience. Tee boxes are in very good shape, fairways in above average condition for the time of the year except for our usual trouble spots. Greens are coming back from the first half of aerification nicely. All holes will be cut on the smooth portion of the green so that you never have to putt anything close to the hole through sand and bumps. In fact, there is very little sand left on the greens at this point.
