Played on May 30th. Great condition through out ,Outstanding customer service, BUT, I don't think I want to play there again because of the roller coaster greens.I never hit so many greens that the ball rolled off in all directions and 3 putts were something to look forward to.Again the service and staff were awesome.

Played 36 on an underpar voucher on 5/21. Overall, the course is in nice shape. Greens were far more receptive than Indian Canyons the day before but still released a bit. They also rolled on the slow side but were consistent. My entire group had a heck of a time getting putts to the hole all day. Fairways and rough were solid with the occasional thin patch. Greenside bunkers were great as were the tee boxes. This layout continues to grow on me the more I play here. Green complexes can be a little crazy, but with the speed of the greens this time around, it was quite fair.

Found a deal on Groupgolfer for $39 so it was worth the drive. Friendly staff and very helpful. Practice area is large with plenty or putting greens and chipping areas to work on your game. The course was in fantastic shape and the weather was perfect. Fairways are just like carpet and the ball sets up perfect. There are a couple of par 4's that are reachable for the long straight hitter. A few hole don't require a driver, but a well placed tee shot with a hybrid or a long iron to set yourself up for a good approach to the green. Bunkers are well maintained and plenty of sand to hit out of. The greens are smooth and roll medium to fast with plenty of undulations and multi tiers. Greens are well bunkered and are very large. Not rare to find yourself with a putt of 80' or longer. I recommend this course to anyone who is looking for a fun and fair layout.

Picked a gorgeous day to get out to Marriott's Shadow Ridge today after snagging a GolfNow hot deal for around $99 at noon-thirty. There's a really nice range to warm up on and the pro shop and other amenities are really spot on to start the day. The course itself is simply perfect right now. Literally not a single complaint from me about any single aspect of this great, fun and challenging track. The fairways have excellent coverage from tee to green - never had a bad lie all day. The rough is very consistent and just challenging enough to know you need to do better on the next hole, but not overly penal. The tee boxes are all flat, level and perfect - great variety of tee boxes as well for every golfer. Bunkers were in very nice shape, both the fairway and greenside varieties. A joy to hit from every time. And the greens? Wow. Glassy and quick, but very receptive to shots and flawless rolls. Ball marks? None to speak of at all. And the greens are super fun - a big challenge but in no way gimmicky or overly dramatic to make you suffer. They're just phenomenal. It's an incredibly varied layout at Shadow Ridge and every hole is unique and Faldo's design offers many different options on a number of holes of how to attack the green. We also saw the cart service numerous times throughout the day and simply couldn't find a single thing wrong overall. Also helped to shoot a pretty darn good round once again at this fun destination. If you're planning a trip to the Palm Desert area anytime soon, and have the option to play anywhere you want at a reasonable price for great conditions, don't think twice about playing here. Just do it. You'll come away with a serious smile on your face, unless of course #18 messes with you to end your round on a sour note! It's a tough one, but the rest of the day will still keep you in a good mood no matter the result.

WOW, played here for the first time on Saturday January 14th in perfect weather. I have nothing bad to say about this course. I love the layout with short holes, long holes, dog legs, risk-reward, and undulating greens. You just stay engaged when there is such variety in each hole. On this day we teed up at 8:00 and finished in 4.5 hours whish was expected for a Holiday weekend. We tried to get a replay but the course was just to busy so we went to Desert Willow. We all loved Shadow Ridge due to its outstanding conditions. Everything was in the right place and service was outstanding as well. Everything gets a 9+ in my book.

Had a wonderful round at Shadow Ridge on Saturday, playing the green tees with a 9:36 tee time. The course has just come out of overseeding so technically it's still not in top shape, but from a player's perspective there's very little to complain about if at all.

Okay, one thing - cart path only. But it's clear why so while it's a slight annoyance, you know it's what to expect for a few weeks and you just get on with it. No worries.

As for the track itself, the fairways look fantastic. Never had a poor lie all day. The rough was very nice and consistent when it was grass and not the tree line or water hazards. Very consistent length that made you work for good contact, but rewarded it when found.

The bunkers were in nice shape - totally playable. And the tee boxes were excellent.

The greens were a tad bit on the slow side (which is to be expected just days after re-opening from what I understand), but they were in very nice shape and rolled very true. There are some fun green complexes at Shadow Ridge to navigate and the slower greens took away some of their teeth, but you still had to judge the extra push just right.

We had the cart girl come by at least 3-4x which was great, and the POP, despite a fairly slow group in front of us (credit to them as they did get off the greens quickly each time), was at around 4:30 which was totally acceptable on a gorgeous day.

So all in all, while of course in a few weeks it's going to be even better going to play the very fun and challenging Shadow Ridge, you won't be upset if you find yourself on its green fairways before then. A quality experience right now from soup to nuts.

Played the Greens (6621/71.5/130) in 4H. The weather was around 100, clear and breezy.

The layout is fun to play. Numerous risk/reward par 4's that could produce a 3/4 or 6/7. Two par 4's over 460 from even the next to back set of tees. The par 3's are a good variation in length and look. I enjoy this course layout and the course conditions were good overall.

The tees were lush and had most divots already repaired.

The fairways were semi lush and well maintained with most divots already repaired. There are numerous large fairway bunkers to avoid, but the landing areas on most par 4's & par 5's tee shots are generous in width.

The rough was mostly lush and just tall enough to make you think twice when using longer clubs. Usually nice to chip out of.

The green side sand traps were well maintained with good quality white sand. Numerous traps that appear to be green side from the tee are actually 25-50 yards from greens, so you can get unusual length sand shots here. Some fairway traps are waste bunkers & less maintained.

From the tee shot landing area in, the difficulty goes up considerably. This course plays tougher than a quick glance may indicate because of the green complexes. The greens are large, undulating and well protected by traps or hazards. There are also many runoff or collection areas around these greens, so putts or chips that are hit offline, too weak or too bold can easily end up off the green. The greens were firm, putted medium speed and held approach shots well. Hardly any ball marks because of the firmness.

The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out and around numerous times. Overall, a fun layout in good condition. Recommended = Yes.

Played Saturday 9/4 with Nicksquire, robule & rgm2525, As usual, Nick covers all the basis in his very thorough reviews, so just some personal observations. The 18th, is I guess the signature hole, but it looks like the original designer of the course only got paid for 17 and they brought someone else in to finish it up. After playing 17 holes with a certain feel (wide fairways, big greens with lots of slopes and nobs to make a premium to the accuracy of your irons that are protected with lots of bunkers), to a finishing hole with a stream down the left side of the fairway, and a raised green that sort of reminds me of a mini version of the par 5 on the back of Sandpiper that you hit your approach over a cliff. It' actually a pretty hole, just kinda jars you after the first 17. This course on the back starts winding through the timeshares, and the par 3 17th with the pool on the right and the timeshare balconies as a gallery, with guests walking along the sidewalk of the timeshare. There are a couple of other holes on the back where guests seem to be walking/playing or throwing a ball around. Was not a bother to me, but a twosome did appear out of nowhere on the green on 17, and one of them decided they liked rgm2525's ball better than his. Not like his ball was in the rough or anything had about a 12 foot birdie putt.

The fairways were lush, and the greens although Coachella Valley summer slow definitely held their line, as I definitely made more putts over 5 feet than I normally do.

Service was top notch from dropping off your clubs to setting them on top of the stairs. Starter was extremely efficient, told you all you needed to know and then some within 40 seconds.

All in all a fun course to play and it is definitely in my rotation in the Palm Springs area

Played the Greens (6621/71.5/130) in 4H, 35M with mendel, robule & rgm2525, then did a replay in roughly 4H using UP. Easy, fun group to play with. The weather was around 100 and clear. Started out calm but was a 2 club wind by the end of the day. I enjoy this course layout and the course conditions were good overall. The layout has numerous shorter par 4's that could produce doubles or worse equally as easy as a par/birdie. Two par 4's over 460 from even the next to back set of tees. Par 3's a good variation in length and look. The tees were lush and had most divots already repaired. Numerous large fairway bunkers to avoid, but the landing areas on most par 4's & par 5's tee shots are generous in width. The rough was mostly lush and just tall enough to make you think twice when using longer clubs. Usually nice to chip out of. The greens have not fully recovered from aeration and were the only part of the course not well above average. Firm, bumpy and medium speed. The customer service was excellent from everyone encountered. Drink cart out and around numerous times. Had a very good cheeseburger between rounds. Excellent, really top notch practice facility.
