First time playing this course 3/24/10. This course has a really nice layout through the rolling hills. But if you are not a good bunker player you won't enjoy your round of golf. All the greens are fairly quick and HARD. It is almost impossible to get a ball to hold the green no matter which type of approach shot you hit. Then there are the bunkers, they change the course from being a medium skilled layout to what can become a nightmare. They are frequent and difficult. My main complaint about them is that there is not really much sand in them but a hard red clay sand type mixture which leads to skulling the ball. No beverage cart on course yesterday either. Staff was friendly and we started right on time.

Played it on 12/1/09 for $50. What a deal for a great course! Played from the black tees, and was by far the most interesting & challenging course I played on this trip, and the wind wasn't even blowing that hard (which I've heard makes this course almost impossible to play). With 36 holes to play at this club, the course was pretty empty. Pace of play was very good. lots of different looking holes. I would love to play it again, now that I have an idea of what the course looks like.

Played the morning of Oct 2. This was my first trip back in here in nearly 6 months, and today, we weren't disappointed. The course was in fantastic shape. It is well groomed, and since it appears that even more scrub has been cut back, the course appears more wide open. The ground and greens are VERY hard, so adjust your game accordingly. I was curious about the changes the new owner would make, and I did notice a few. First, a number of bunkers have been filled; I see pros and cons, but ultimately, they never could keep any sand in them and perhaps fewer bunkers will speed up play. Second, the range maintenance appears deferred. Third, there seems to be fewer staff present to assist customers. Thankfully, Starter "Keith" still is there - he's a good guy.

The course itself was very challenging. Every green seemed to have multiple slopes creating multiple breaks. Missing the fairway means losing your ball.

One and only complaint is with the staff. I scheduled a tee time the week prior. When we showed up to play, we were told that we could not play on the Champions course, and that if we were wiling to play quickly they could squeeze us onto the Legends course because a high school tournament was being played that day!

Needless to say, this was pretty infuriating. A tee time scheduled the week before gave the clubhouse plenty of time to correct this scheduling error for a tee time which should not have been made in the first place since they were aware of the tournament at that time.

Trying to throw us unto a course we did not want to play and telling us that if we played quickly we would be allowed to do so was completely unacceptable. For a PGA sanctioned course, they seem to not realize the importance of a tee time!

The least they should have done was apologize. Which they did not.

Because the tee time was booked using a gift certificate, we were forced to reschedule the tee time.

Due to the service alone, I will not play this course again.

Pretty challenging course. Those bunkers are evil here. Most bunkers have a steep lip and you want to avoid them at all costs. Fairways are lush, but kinda squishy in some areas. Rough is getting thick and you will have to muscle it through. Tee boxes are fine. Greens are quite quick and all putts will be fun and challenging. Currently the course is offering discounts throughout August because it gets hot. 40 during the week and 55 on weekends.

Great course, I like to play here at least once a month. You can always find a late afternoon deal online that makes it worth the drive. Some fairly short challenging hole mixed with some longer holes surrounded by bunkers, bring your bunker A game if you are not a solid iron player. Fun course, always in great condition. Can be windy at times. Love this course one of my top 5.

Without question a quality course. Played on Saturday 5/16 (windy but playable) for first time in two years, and the fairways and greens were in fine condition. Only complaint is they sent out a fivesome ahead of us, and they really held things up (we were only three). Too bad the course agrees to put out five at a time; always seems unfair to hold up everyone so one group can "have it their way."

As a member of the now East valley course, I must say for a layout as beautiful as this, it's sad to see the condition of the greens ....covered with poa anna to the point it makes it impossible to get a fair roll. When I first joined a few years ago, I said it was one of the most impressive courses I'd ever played. I was proud to take my visiting friends from back east and show off the facilities. Now,...well, the greens have deteriorated...used to be fast and even...and the bunkers are downright pathetic!...Still are both beautiful courses (including Legions), but just a shame they have decided not to keep it up to previous standards. I believe many members feel the same way and that's their customer base so who knows what the future holds.

Played on 2-13 morning for the first time. Clubhouse is very nice, pro shop attendants very coridal. Even when making the tee time over the phone, they were very courteous, patient, and professional. Starters were very informative, there was a frost delay in the morning and let us know they were a bit behind. Carts are OLD and if have never played there, there are several blind shots and having a yardage book would be very helpful.
Was very unimpressed with the condition of the greens. Not sure if rain made them hard to maintain, but there was a secondary grass throughout the greens that made the putts roll like a plinko game. Definately not overly fast, I would think that is because of the amount of rain lately.
Like other reviews, I agree, avoid the bunkers. The amount of rocks in there seem like an easy fix with some maintence work, but maybe that is the look and feel the course is going for.
Overall the front 9 seemed easier, less blind shots. Pretty stright forward.
Cost is reasonable and too bad the replay rate of $5 is over next week, because I would like to give it a 2nd chance.
