Must have timed it right because I played alone at 9:15 AM.
Completed play in 4 hrs. to the minute.
With all the recent rains only three holes were messy and
that was minimal. I play this course often and it remains a
great challenge. Every hole is unique! It is up and down and
all around! The greens were fine with cups cut in decent locations. I guess because my ball flight is high, the greens
were holding well. We who live in the inland empire appreciate
these two great courses.

Conditions: 9/10 -- Green lush grass everywhere.
Greens: 8/10 -- Roll nice but HARD & DO NOT HOLD!
Pace: 5/10 -- 5 hours - No starter & No Rangers. MESS!

Overall: 7/10 -- Beautiful landscape but Hard Greens.

* I'm not a fan of these Severley sloped/breaking greens and fairways. Course is WAY over rated.

Played both courses in one day. The feel of this course is vastly different from the other. Sad that they're building all the homes. Greens on this course were much harder than the Legends. Both courses' greens were lightning fast and hard to read. Frustrating day. But, only because of our bad putting! Courses are pristine. Facilities fabulous. It only took us an hour to get there from Laguna Niguel (of course, it was 5:30 in the morning...no traffic!). Worth the drive.

The course is in good condition but not as great as the legends is reported to be. The greens are firm and fast but a bit bumpy. The pace was the worse thing thought taking over 5 hours to play on a weekday morning. The weather was beautiful and the staff friendly. The construction going on now takes away from the serenity this place used to have.

played yesterday morning, second group off. I am a little biased because I remember playing this course for $50 during the week. Now that they've raised the rates by 40%, it's still a wonderful golf course, but they are getting a little greedy. The reason people drive so far away to play here is because it's a great course AND cheap. True, it's not as expensive as playing in O.C. where I live, but give it time. The area is being developed as we speak; they're building hundreds of homes on the course, especially the Champions. It's still worth the green fee, but not as much as it used to be. The course is superb, don't get me wrong, but the geographic area at this point does not warrant the constant increases in price. As long as the course stays under $75 during the week, it'll be worth the drive. Otherwise, I can drive the other direction and play Rustic Canyon which is under $40 during the week and it's in the top-20 of "best manicured courses" too. I love this track, though not as much as the Legends, but don't keep raising the prices guys. Not all of us can put the green fees on our Corporate credit card!
