Played 4/26/08, a very busy Saturday morning with a tournament taking place on the neighboring Chino Creek course. Fairways and greens were in great shape, with the only real negative about the condition of the course being the hard dirt bunkers. Course played with good flow for a Saturday, and we never felt like we were having to wait excessively long to take shots, despite having groups all around us. First time playing the course, found it to be an enjoyable, though not overly difficult layout.

Couple of negatives to mention.

Our tee time was apparently not taken correctly, though made a week before, but in fairness to the course, they fixed it and got us right out.

The day was hot, high 80's to low 90's, and there was no beverage cart out along the entire course. I'm not sure whether it was due to the tournament being played, or whether they just don't have the carts, but no drinking fountains and no beverages made it rough on my ill-prepared groupmates.

Lastly, 4-5 of the holes have massive amounts of flies as a result of being right up near livestock pens. Nothing to be done about it, but something to watch out for.

Despite the negatives, an enjoyable course and a good day of golf.

I had the unfortunate experience of being in 1 bunker all day long. It was a fairway bunker on the last par 5 in the back nine and I got out in one shot & walked away with a scared 5 iron. The only other pitfall to this course is the amount of fly's or nats on the fairways. You must wear sun glasses & keep your mouth closed at all times

Played today 4/22 7:30 Tee time. There were very few players out this morning, Chino Creek was being punched. Two groups of 3 went out before us, and were 2 holes out when we started. We played as a 5some, ready golf. the course was in decent shape, fairways rolled decent, rought was long but not too punishing, bunkers, were terrible hard packed dirt, the greens were soft and spongy, and rolled slow. They will be aerating next week. Would rate it about 6.5 - 6.8.

We caught up with the 3somes around the 6th hole and stayed on their tail. Finished in under 4 hrs. How's that for ready golf with bets going on. Captains, greenies, first on, closest, and first in. I played great, big winner for the day. Life is so SWEET!!!

Being 36 hole golf course as always moderate quantity of players in course showing relaxed not busy.Fairways shows excellent shape with green & lush turfs very difficult to find out in $ 39.00 golf courses.Greens were one of strongest pride & top boast of this course but not this time.Spongy high green's grass kills the speed to medium/slow ,definitely need to mow or press to recover their fame.Only disfavor side was quality of sands of bunkers that looks like construction dirts not fine sands.
Overall very enjoyable conditions .And very recommendable cheeseburger too.....

First time playing this track. It wasn't a bad course. The greens were spungey, but rolled quicker than they looked, or felt. If this course got some better course maintenance and cart paths (starter told us it was 90 degree rule, problem was, we didn't know where the cart paths were, it's all dirt or nothing at all.) For the price and the pace of play, I will definitely be back. Teed off at 11:34, no waiting on any hole, breezed right through and finished at 3:50. For a public course, this was the quickest round I've played on a Sunday. Would love to play Chino Creek, but it looks like that definitely gets more play. Regardless, I'll be back.

The 19th hole is a great place to relax. Friendly bartender. The greens are in very good shape. OOps the fairways are okay if you like hitting from hardpan. Have fun

The starter treated us like "we own them" and the bad thing is, the Pro there doesn't give a carb. There friends come first before the paying public. The Staff there Sucks. It really does. They have kids working in there that is why their friends play for free and before you. I will never go back and in fact I should write the PGA of America and complain.

Tuesday, 7-17. First time here. Towsome. 1st tee at 7 am. Done at 10:30 am. FUN!! Fairways a little thin for my game. Greens are tacky, so they don't break as much as you think. BUT, they are in really good shape. Rough is thick. Study the card for the location of the water hazards. We lost 3 cause we didn't. Not as bad as it was 7 years ago when we played the Chino Creek side. WHEW!! Now I kick myself for not playing here sooner. Thanks to the prior reviews for opening my eyes. We will be back.

Butterfield isnt Riveria, but it is a fun test of straight ahead golf. The greens are amazingly good. The fairways are kinda OK and the tees and rough and bunkers are medium at best. There are a couple of water hazards,a couple of par 3s that will test you. Its so easy at times that ya mess up badly. Maybe due to my brain wandering off into outer space, maybe its because the carts are sooooo crappy and the dirt cart paths are sooo bad. I believe one would play better here for sure if one walked. Too hot for me. No smells today. Also, we were aware that there were almost no ball marks on the greens today and also the same last time we played. This is a LOCALS paradise, they take care of the place. It has always been my thought that the footprints in the unraked bunkers were always around size 7 and the ball marks always were found at the same venues. You make the call.
