Played today and was shocked as no one was on the N Course. We started @ 11 and were finished by 2:15. Course is in great condition. As previously mentioned the greens were done late Sept and have healed very nicely. Good condition and great pace for putting. Sand in the bunkers was excellent and fairways and tee boxes great as well. Noticed some softness (spotty) in the fairways but no doubt due to past weeks heat and need to keep them watered but they played great. Provided excellent lies at all times. Pro shop and starter were on top of their duties and noticed the marshal making his rounds several times. I like the fact that you have a snack bar and rest rooms on 7, 13 and when you come back to 16. Been a long time since we have played here but will begin to put this layout back in the rotation without fail. For those of you who have not played here but often thought about it, I would recommend you make a tee time.

Played first off Monday (9/24/12) knowing that they had recently punched the greens, I did not expect them to be very good, TO my surprise they actually rolled fairly well, but while the ball did not bounce because the holes are pretty much healed, the ball rolled where ever it wanted, it would simply not track straight. The greens really need to be rolled! They were super soft - like throwing darts. The ball just stuck! The greens were slow, slow slow, probably a 6 on the stint

Overall the course was just "scruffy" I realize this is a tough time of year, lots of maintenance going on, but difficult to overlook all the bare areas.

Played on Sunday 9/2/12 with my brother and nephew on a hot but barealbe day. The rate was great at $35.00 for this course. Conditions for the North are just ok, but seem reasonable given the extended heat wave in So Cal.

From tee to green on most holes the tee boxes are in pretty good shape, level and all had good spots from which to tee off. The fairways, however, need some care with a lot of dirt spots and thin areas on some holes. Other holes were great and acceptable. Greens were average to good rolling a little slow for my taste. The bunkers were much better than most of the similar priced surrounding courses. Nice fluffy sand, except in those links style pot bunkers, that fortunately I didn't see the bottom of all day.

All in all, the course was well worth the price, and I know from past experience that this track will only get better as we move into the fall months. Hit um well folks !

Paid $42 each for this course, that is a fair price for the track.
The layout is quite nice, interesting holes.
Course plays quite long for ladies, over 5800yds from the forward tees.
Carts have GPS but no cooloer. The lack of cooler is off-set by having refreshment stands on holes 7, 13 and 15. Greens were for the most part just fine, typical amount of ball marks we all have to endure. Greenside bunkers were in really good condition, I did find it odd how much fluffy sand were in the fareway bunkers. Fairways were hit and miss, some where in good condition, some were just mowed weeds and dirt. Several holes had quite a bit of watering which presented some challenges.

Driving Range - not all that good, pretty beat up and not that level today.

Overall - this is a good course in the low $40 range. Too hot to play in the summer, might try to get out in the fall and try this course again. Staff comes across nice and friendly.

Always love the countryfied feeling I get when I come to Los S. The staff is super great and seems to get it-they put the customer first!
I kinda like the north over the south because it plays a few strokes easier and has more readable greens than the south, but it is a joy to play either one.
I truly suggest that unless you play in the single digits, play from the white or front tees,especially on the south. If you play the blues,count on having 185 yard plus approach shots.
What I find funny is the guy who drives it 170 yards, then has 220 to the green, waits for the green to clear, and hits it 60 yards short. I wish I never have to see that, but oh well.
Today I made the putt at the end of the round and won a free round! YAY!

Played an early afternoon round today and finished in just over 4 hours (great!!!). The guys working the desk up front have always done a great job here. Greens were above average for afternoon Poa although I did notice that a couple greens had some sort of bentgrass in them. They were a bit bumpy (expected) but the pace was nice. Didn't hit very many fairways but they were great to walk on!! Can't complain about those that I did hit though. A bit thin but fine for the amount of traffic this place gets. Tee boxes were okay for the most part with the par 3s being a bit chewed up with quite a bit of sand on #10. Bunkers appear to have been filled recently so there is a decent chance of having a ball plug at any time. Rough... well it appears to have been replaced with a mine field of gopher holes. Green side rough was fine, a bit patchy maybe, but any fairway rough has some super sketchy lies to deal with. They posted a notice that they are doing something about their gopher problem so hopefully (whatever it is) it works. I will be back as this course is always a fun one to play and not a bad challenge either.
