Played the north on 3/15, the last day of aeration discount, thinking the greens would almost be recovered. I was wrong, THE GREENS ARE NO WHERE NEAR PUTTABLE YET!
Every green was punched with quarter size holes, as expected, not expected were the 1/8th to a 1/4 inch deep hole in every punch. This made the greens unplayable, it was like putting over unrepaired ball marks, throughout your line.
I didn't want to rate this course, I think it's a unfair too, when the course is under going maintenance. But I want my fellow GK'rs to know, the greens will NOT! be anywhere near ready to putt on, for at least 2 more weeks. This is different from the past, they used to do a great job of aerating, but still make the greens playable, so I often would take advantge of the reduced rate and expect the greens to be slower and bumpier and be happy with the green fee. For the $19 they charged, I would not play again.
The fairways and t boxes are being aerated as well and in similar condition, but not a big deal.
Rough is bad, different grass and lengths.
Sand was firm and thin, a few bunkers on the back, that I was not in, seemed to have sand in them.
No cart girls, but there is a snack shack after the 6th hole, sandwiches are pretty good here and one of the girls has a rock'n body.
Golf carts are in good shape and have GPS.
Customer service is usually good here. The two older starters, know us here, as we usually play this course 1-3 times a month and are friendly and professional, as are most of the staff. On one occasion we had a problem, when one of our guys objected to poor service. The starter retaliated, by intentionaly not calling us up at our start time. This guy should be fired.
I have to agree with another GK'r that this course is going down hill (new management?) The result is that we are starting to phase this course out of our rotation. Shame. I tend to think the poor aeration practice is a result of bad management, particularly if they have the same head greenskeeper, in an effort to cut corners and save money.
They also have done away with the long putt contest for a free round. Not a big deal, but was always fun and unique and I actually sunk one, once.

Greens were in great shape, but fairways and rough were in terrible shape. Many clumpy areas within fairways along with a lot of thin spots. Entire course extremely wet, even though no rain for over a week. Over all poor conditions.

played on 1-23 Wednesday around 12:30 where was everyone? the course was not in as good a shape as I remember as I hadn't played here since last year. The grass was not very green and it was not possible to tell where the fairway edges stopped and the rough began.
The tee boxes were very chewed up but it looked as though they are trying to grow new grass which should be nice in the weeks ahead.
Even though the fairways weren't very nice looking and were not closely mowed when taking a divot the club went through without bouncing and hurting your wrist. The bunkers were very nice, probably the best part of the course.
The greens were receptive and rolled true although some of the greens looked very patchy and all different colors. The speed was consistent and medium to fast rolling.
Most of the groups out there were twosomes. There was a college group of two foursome walkers a few groups ahead which backed things up some on the back half of the course. But all the twosomes stayed twosomes. I didn't get that, but I guess some people just like to stay by themselves.
The snack bars were open. There are two on the course and are very accessible.
Overall it was a nice day to golf, the layout is good and they have a nice clubhouse facility. Plenty of practice greens and a large range. Carts have gps yardage. Service was very good.

Condition was decent. Some of the par 3 tee boxes were pretty beat up. Fairways weren't very good, with a lot of dirt spots (caused by gophers?). The greens were in great condition. Not a lot of ball marks and rolled pretty fast and true. I love their practice facility. They have a couple of small putting greens next to the proshop and a large one by the chipping/pitching area. Wish it was closer to my house so I can practice here everyday!

Played the North course today at 1230. Pace of play was good, about 3.5 hours. Tee boxes were pretty chewed up, some were very patchy with clumps here and there. Fairways were decent. Some were filled in okay, some were very clumpy. Rough was thin in some places thick in others. Bunkers were fantastic. Greens were very good, with the exception of a few ball marks here and there. Definitely worth the green fee we paid. I've seen it in better shape, nothing fancy but a solid round of golf.

Very disappointed in conditions early Saturday, 12/15/12. SoCal had a little rain over the previous few days, but not enough to result in the widespread standing water, boggy conditions, and other poor conditions we found. How can large slopes below curbed cart paths be slippery muddy muck? Greens were in good shape – held shots, rolled well art medium speed. I was in lots of bunkers, all with plenty of sand. Fairways and tees needed to be cut. POP 5+ hours. But soggy conditions overwhelmed everything else – course needs an engineering and drainage review! I didn’t rate the course, as a result.

Had a tee time at 10:45, got out 15 minutes early as a single. The course was wide open, I passed through a twosome on 4 and didn't catch up to another group until 13. Finished in 3 hours flat, with a bit of rain on the back. Conditions were fair to good throughout. Greens had no evidence of the sanding mentioned by the previous review, they rolled quite true if a bit slow at times. The fairways had a few overgrown patches but were generally uniform and well cut. The rough was not very tough, only a couple inches with great chances for good lies. The bunkers had soft sand in them, even when wet. Tee boxes were a little shaggy but there was not much damage. Overall I was very happy with the condition and layout. There are numerous elevation changes, wide fairways, gentle doglegs and not a whole lot of trouble out there. I've played the south course dozens of times but this was my first time on the north; I will play here again soon.

Played 11-20-12 Tuesday. VERY dissapointed. North side greens were sanded, all of them. Was not told in the pro shop about the maintenance that went on. I also understand that the South Side was sanded to. This is not Customer Service at its best. Attitude of a "Jeremy" in the Pro needs an attitude adjustment. Pretty rude guy for just starting out in the pro shop. With complaints like mine he will not be there long. Hey "Serrano's" you guys need to talk to each other to let everyone know whats going on. I very seldom take time of of work during the weekday and the day I do, "Lost Serrano's" spoils it.
