7/22/11-Whatever they're doing... it's marvelous. The course is the most lush I've ever seen it. Yes, the sprinklers did get us a bit damp now and then. Perhaps that's the reason for the gorgeous fairways. And the rough? That's the way it should be - a bit of a hazard. Hit your ball there, and you'd better select the correct club to get the ball out. The greens are absolutely among the best in the area. Sand traps... a bit of a problem in a couple of holes. Standing water. Probably caused by the watering of the course to keep it green this time of the year. Let's face it... you're not supposed to hit the bunkers. The pro shop staff is so courteous -- as always. The starter is friendly and helpful to those unfamiliar with the course. And the snack bar lady - just great! What more do you want? I almost don't want to post comments, or rate the course, because I want to reserve it for myself. But, I must let everyone know, out of kindness, this is one of the best values in the area -- if not the very best!

Played 6/13 - Intro'd a new player to this course, and he loved it. He can't wait to play it again with us. Though my ratings are low because of divots in the fairways, and ball marks on the greens, I do not fault the management for this. The players have an ethical responsibility to repair divots -- the course affords refilled bottles at the turn -- and to repair ball marks. Yucaipa has beautiful greens -- no two are the same, and the pin placement is always a unique and wonderful challenge. C'mon, players, take the time to repair your marks and divots. Perhaps the Men's Club should pay attention to this. Course managers would certainly reward them for keeping it in good shape. Now -- the fairways at Yucaipa have a tendency to have bare spots here and there. Today -- not so bare. However, the grass seems lumpy at different places. I'm certain this is because of the type of grass that clumps. Again, not the fault of the maintenance crew. The customer service in all areas is beyond approach. The specials and newspaper ads offer a great discount, too. (I shouldn't review and rate this course so high. It will get crowded, and I won't be able to finish a round in less than 1 hour in the future.) Try this course just once. You're sure to come back.

Played 2-9-11.
Staff: Very nice and accommodating.
Carts: New with GPS. Awesome!
Tee boxes: Very uneven and bare. They seriously need to redo them.

Tee boxes: Very uneven and bare. They seriously need to redo them.
Fairways: Way too many bare spots that never seem to get fixed. Other than that they are a little thin due to the winter cold.
Rough: Thin but very playable.
Sand: Inconsistent with small rocks and pebbles throughout. Too bad, because they are very well placed and help set-up a nice layout, with the exception of the right fairway bunker on #5, which needs to go.
Greens: Fast-but-bumpy. Not a good combo! These greens are very well shaped with some fun undulations, but the bumpy inconsistency makes them almost impossible to putt on.
Overall: Well-worth the price for weekdays right now at 29 bucks (with an emailed coupon), but I sure wish they could get the course conditions back up to 'par'.

Fairways running your typical winter speed (fast) so no need for driver on many holes. sand was granular and from some reason made me look like gary player when I was coming out of them..lol Def. will be back.

Had a league match here on Saturday and I was a first time player at the course. My group was one short and we were first off for our tournament. We hit the perfect spot in the lineup and managed to finish in less than four hours while the rest of the matches didn't finish in less than five.
Greens were in terrific shape. As fast as they were running away from the mountains, they were just a slow going up crating for some extremely difficult 2-putts should you be more than 40 feet away. There were some unfixed ball marks and I found myself fixing a couple per hole. Fairways were average (all three that I found) and I had no problems with them. Rough was thin with a few thick patches that I managed to find. Bunkers were not good. They seemed to be mostly dried silty soil and much too shallow. I had my wedge bounce off the compacted base of the bunker and saw that the "sand" was only around 3/4" deep. Service was good and we saw the cart girl 4 times through the round.

Course design: I felt most of the holes were designed well and took to the natural terrain nicely. The par 3s were great with the 3rd probably being my favorite of the four with it's insanely difficult green. The par 5s were relatively short and not particularly challenging. The par 4s had a good deal of variety with several tough tee ball decisions. I do think that the par 4 fifth needed to be rethought however. They need to either scrap the fairway bunker on the right or push the front of the lake about 20 yards closer to the green.

Overall it was a pleasant experience and look forward to going back the next time my league comes to the course.

Played here 9/23/10. Arrived as a single at 6am and went to the pro shop. The gentleman behind the counter was super friendly and told me he would get me out ASAP. Headed to the range and hit a few balls and was sent out with a twosome at 6:40am. I was pleasantly surprised by the course conditions. A few fairways had some GUR marked but the majority were green and lush. The greens were a little slow but putted well. Traps were in excellent shape. With the combination of course conditions and customer service it is difficult to beat this place for $29 w/cart.
