BAD- Have played here since 2005 and the fairways are worse than I have ever seen them. So many holes or pits between grass patches and 15 square yard areas of dirt and crab grass, No thanks. Greens were inconsistent with sand on a lot of them. Waste and sand bunkers with standing water in them. Better lie's in the rough than in the fairway. Pace of play was a joke, over 5 hours had 8 carts at the 11th tee box at one point, unacceptable.

Played Sunday at 10:30. Weather perfect, warm and sunny, mild breeze. Greens should be real good in a few weeks. Need to work on the tee boxes. Bunkers were okay except some had 1/2" rocks blended in with them. Fairways were mediocre, definitely some bad lie's out there. The online specials make it worth the money. They also have a card for $90 you can buy, good for 4 rounds.

Played on Saturday 10-29-11. Conditions were pretty good overall. The greens had been aerated that Monday but were in good condition. This is a pretty straight forward course but the real challenge are the greens. Lots of break and very varied. Not many straight putts. Got an online special for $25 w/cart after noon on the weekends. Well worth it.

Played today with fellow GK'ers Cennbo, Sbogey and mnehls86. For the money, this is a pretty descent course. You don't come here looking for conditions a $50 green fee brings you. The layout was challenging enough and the greens where pretty fast. Fairways could use a mow and some of the tee boxes were not level. Despite a few shortcomings...I would play here again.

However, if playing on a Tuesday late morning for 4 hours and 50 minutes is fun for you then go to this course. No marshals. Fivesomes allowed. Not going back for awhile.

I don't know what kind of courses some of these commentators have been playing, but Yucaipa should be called Yu-CRAP-a. I was disappointed by the conditions this course was in, especially after hearing and reading differently. Fairways... what fairways? Couldn't tell the fairway from the second cut of rough on most fairways, couldn't get any roll off the tee. The greens were bumpy and mediocre at best. The layout was interesting, can't say that it was a bad layout, but definitely leaves with something to be desired. No marshals on the course to be seen, which was needed since it was very slow paced on the front (a single was playing two balls off the tee with three groups behind him left waiting!) It's noticeable that this was once, and can be again, a nice course. The maintenance is lacking as there many bare spots on the course and some greens had them as well. I guess you get what you pay for ($29 online) only to be surrounded by hackers. The best thing about this course were the beautiful young ladies working the pro-shop, other than that, I'll pay a bit extra and hit Tukwet or Soboba down the road.

Tough to score when you can't see the fairway, bunkers or greens. Missed a lot of greens on what I thought were good shots? That said, course was in nice condition. Staff was great! Too bad about the weather, because I like this course and don't get out this way very often.

I played this course on 9/15. We checked in for our 6:45am tee time using an emailed coupon for $25 (the lady was giving people who mentioned a coupon of some sort the rate of $29) instead of rack rate $43. We arrived at the tee box to find no starter. People just started themselves. We ended up pairing up with an elderly couple and teed off at 7am.
I haven't played this course in over a year, and I found it sort of different this time around.
Tee box- In decent shape
Fairways- Only avg shape. They are letting the grass grow out (i think) and it was rolling as well as I remember. There were not too many dried up spots, but lots of different types of grass/weeds around. Where the fairway ended the rough began was not really clear. Lots of divot marks.
Bunkers- Only in it twice and appeared to be in decent shape.
Rough- This was very inconsistent. There appears to be multiple types of rough. Some areas were very long and would eat the balls up. Other areas were firm and hard. Once again, different types of grass/weeds making up the rough.
Greens- Were in pretty decent shape. Not as fast as I remembered it to be (rated as 9.5). Once again, lots of ball marks and unrepaired areas.

However, pace of play was good (finished in under 4 hrs) and you can't beat the value. Will play here again, but probably not my first choice.

Well, YV has finally improved their fairways... sort of anyway. What was very hit-and-miss before (with lots of bare spots in the fairways), is now lushness that needs to be mowed. Maybe they just decided to let it get that way for some reason, but I hit a lot of fairways yesterday and found only half of my ball showing above the grass line. Bummer.
The rest of the course was very lush with the rough being as high as 5-6 inches in spots. Yes, there are still the occasional bare spots throughout the course, but it has definitely improved. The bunkers are very nice, but the tee boxes still need some leveling, (i.e.: #3 - what the heck?!)
Customer service is always good here, but when we made the turn around 9am, there must have been four groups waiting to tee off on #1. The $25 weekday rate has a lot to do with it I'm sure.
Overall, this is a fun layout and well-worth the money, but please mow the fairways!
