First time playing here and wasn't expecting much since I don't really hear about this course. Pleasent Suprise! It's in an interesting area with some elevation changes and trees. The layout wasn't repetitive and the conditions were good compared to most other courses I've played this time of year. Greens were undulating and pretty fast. Fairways, rough, and tee boxes were decent and consistent. I'm a bit jealous of the people who live out here and have such a playable course in their back yard.

1:39 "hot tee time" on GolfNow was $63 for two players, we walked even though the cart was included. Course is in good shape after aeration of the greens, even the 2nd and 18th which were kind of scorched have grown back the dead patches. Incredibly (maybe due to this being a league day) we had no one in front or behind and were able to walk 18 as a twosome in 3.5 hours. I think that is lucky for this course, usually it's busier. Rough is deeper in some spots, greens are definitely firm, teeboxes are middling but you can find a flat spot to stand... this is a fine time to get out at Yucaipa.

Played 8-28-24. They punched the greens 10 days ago. The cool thing is they had discounted green fees and though they did not mention it when I booked the tee time, they did say so when we checked in. The greens were in good shape just a little slow. There were 2 greens that had large dirt areas so hope they will fix them eventually. Overall the course is in the best condition I have seen at this course. In another week the greens should be nice and will make a worth while trip.

Walked on for back 9 only at 5:30pm on a Thursday. Wasn't able to go off the front due to a league playing. Actually very happy that they have a true twilight rate here unlike other courses in the area. Conditions are pretty good from the tee to the green - fairways have very few bad/dry spots, the rough is there and certainly grown, bunkers have reasonable sand and you can play normal bunker shots from them. Teeboxes a little un-level in spots but for the most part good. The maintenance problem here is really the greens: they are pockmarked, bumpy and have some bare spots. Some greens are better than others, but it seems like no one repairs pitch marks and also people are maybe dancing around on them with soft spikes. Worst was the 18th green, where I'm guessing they can ONLY offer a front pin position due to the rest of the green being at least 50% hard bare dirt. This is still a good track for a reasonable price ($28 without membership twilight), just don't expect the greens on the back 9 to look like the practice green. Was able to walk 9 in about 95 minutes, only finding players ahead when I got to the 18th.

Yucaipa Vally in about the best shape it has been in sense opening 21 years ago. We played Monday and even being Cart Path only for awhile found the course way worth the fare (seniors rate) Enough grass in fairways to have good lies, OK sand traps hit and mostly miss, and the greens were in good shape but of course the cold weather made them hard as a freeway, and being on the quick side there were some very unforgiving putts. About 4 hours 20 minutes around just seems like more as there are a lot of the younger men out there playing the blues and blacks that hit it a mile so par 5's are a bit of a wait as they are going in two (and mostly missing) and a few too many extra hits off the tee. (common kids take the penalty and move on). Recommend this place for Seniors and playing the Red Tees is not uncommon and welcome.

I haven't been to Yucaipa Valley for many years and I really did not remember any of the holes or the layout. Now that this course is back in shape, I will for sure be back soon. I enjoyed the layout of this course. Lots of wide open fairways well guarded with bunkers and huge greens that are a challenge, but fair. It looks like they just over seeded the course recently. It was nice and green everywhere for the most part. Some of the tee boxes could use a leveling but most were acceptable. The greens were rolling medium fast in the morning and got faster after the sun dried them out a bit. They also rolled true and held shots well. The bunkers are the worse part of this course. They really need more sand and some work to remove all the pebbles. They are hard as nails. Staff was great, the cart girl came around a few times, and the POP was right at 4.5 hours for a Saturday morning. I'm sure we just go lucky with that. Anyway, had a great time at YV. Go check it out.

Played 5-10-23. The course has changed substantially in the last couple weeks. Fairways are filling in nicely and the greens are looking great. Green speed is still a bit inconsistent but smooth and holding OK. Only real negative are the bunkers, though I wasn't in one all day(which is very rare) there was water puddled in a few and it was mostly hard pack with an occasional fluffy one. All the rain has helped get the course in what I would say is the best condition I have seen in a number of years. Lets hope this is the beginning of a great summer of golf for the course. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.
