Played 4-19-23. The course is in as a good of shape as it has been in a number of years. Still a little bumpy in the fairways but good coverage. Little difference in the rough but a little thicker. Greens were smooth but slow. It has been a couple weeks since they were punched so maybe they are still getting them dialed in. As usual the biggest complaint is the sand. Bunkers were full of rocks, and I mean rocks. Ashwood has pebbles, these were rocks! Overall a decent place to get in a round right now. Was not busy and sailed around in a little over 4 hours.

Played Yucaipa yesterday and course was in great condition, best I have seen in for some time.

This course took a step back from the last time I played it. I suppose it was due to "winter conditions" that the fairways and tee boxes were thin with bare spots throughout. Still, it was visually appealing to the eye on a sunny Saturday afternoon with mostly green grass.

Rough was thin... Bunkers had been raked, but were shallow with hard pack underneath. Most were filled with rocks except for a few around the greens.

Greens were bumpy, with a few holes showing repair efforts. Trying hard to keep them growing, they soft with many ball marks.

POP was approx 5 hours as we were following an informal family tournament. We only had to wait on the tee for 3-4 holes.

Not a bad value if you get a hot deal, we played for $50 at 11:33. I saw the price had dropped to mid 40's. I wouldn't drive to pay full rate...

Played here for the first time in a while. Always liked the balance of this course design. Seems like management is trying but the course suffers heavy play from novice type golfers. Camo looking greens roll acceptably, but are marred with many ball marks. Fairways are spotty as usual but it is winter. Looks like they’re making an effort to at least groom the dirt in some (but not all)of the bunkers. Can’t say it’s not a decent value at the price point though and staff is usually very friendly.

Played 11-29-21. Started of bad when I went in to check in. Was waiting as another gentlemen was checking in for his group. While I was standing there another guy walked in went right up to the cashier and said he wanted to go around again. This was while the other fellow was finishing paying and I was waiting to check in. She let him step in to pay and said she could get him out at 12:45. We had a 12:09 tee time. He said he was going to go out with another guy who was standing at the pick up window for the snack shop. That guy said I have a 12:18 tee time. She looked and said there was already 4 in that slot and he said well you know I play fast. I had 2 eagles the first time around and I only want to play 9. She took his money and told him there was no starter today so go ahead. That fivesome went to the tee and took off well ahead of us and their tee time. We managed to tee off on time but of course with a fivesome and a foursome ahead it was a waiting game on every shot. At he turn another twosome appeared between us and the group ahead. They explained they had the 11:15 tee time but had stopped for lunch. We asked if we could just join up with them and his response was. "No, we are not very good so we will just play alone. This made the back 9 even slower. As for the course there was a lot of ground under repair and even more mud spots all over. Since there has not been any rain for months it could only be from over watering . There were spots just off the fairway that you could not drive the cart through as the cart would get stuck it was so bad. The tee boxes were OK and most fairways were in good shape. The practice green was smooth and fast. The greens on the front were slow so after putting on the practice greens and getting a feel for the speed even the downhill putts stopped short. Then on the back they were more like the practice greens so you had to re-calibrate your putting all over again. They were very receptive on the other hand but that meant lots of ball marks on them and it seemed no one was repairing them. Bunkers on the front were decent and very playable. On the back they were full of rocks and pebbles to the extent we would not hit out of them for fear of club damage. We will not be returning any time soon which is a pity since its the closest full course to Big Bear.

Wednesday, tip Senior Men's club tees off at 8 and there is always at least 60 players, so if your behind them it is 4.5 hour round for you (at least) The course is in the best shape it has been in the last 3 years...most of the greens are back....they are spot reseeding all over the course right now so you have to move the ball some out of the mulch....3 weeks should see more fairway coverage then ever, fingers crossed.....lots of reseeding around several greens also...they keep working on this course which is a plus for a public course in the inland empire...

Played good value golf with Nick, especially with the GN hot ticket. Yucaipa has certainly made its way back to better shape, and hope to see it continue. Steve's and Nick's recent reviews are good testimony to this track's status right now. I personnally enjoy Yucaipa most in October. Cheers

Rode the Blue/White combo tees (6477/70.8/125) on a GN Hot Deal twilight. Been a while since I played when it was overcast and around 60 when we teed off. Played with Chuck and Chris joined us to make it a 3some from hole 11 on. We played the first 11 holes quicker than we did the last 7 after hitting a wall of golfers in front of us. Slightly over 4H POP, which seemed slower as much as we waited down the stretch. My first time here and Chuck described the course perfectly. Set on rolling hills, the front is tree lined and is an excellent 9 holes of golf. The back has a couple of holes bordered by a wash, less trees and more homes are prominent. Not as aesthetically pleasing as the front 9. It rained this morning, so the fairways were soggy and many traps had standing water. Tees mostly good with a few areas that needed divot repair. Fairways had some bare patches but were mostly decent. Rough was penal. Thick and mostly lush. Traps were poor to very poor, and they would have been poor even w/o the rain. Tons of rocks, some quite large. Greens rolled great. Smooth and medium to medium fast. They were very receptive to holding shots with the rain, so tons of unfixed ball marks. Customer Service minimal, they had an open snack stand beside the Pro Shop. Carts were basic, no GPS. Grass driving range down in a valley. I thought the layout was good and the conditions were better than I expected. Only downside was it can be noisy on many front 9 holes. There is a fire station on one side, a school on the other and busy streets run parallel to several holes. Close enough to me that it will get more than an occassional play. Recommended.

Played on Saturday with my monthly golf league and was surprised at how much this course has improved! Tee boxes were in good shape, with several to choose from. We played the Blue/White combo at 6477 yards. Fairways were green with good cushion and the rough was lush... A couple greens had some bare spots but generally were in good shape overall. It can get windy out there, but yesterday was just a slight breeze which made it very comfortable on a warm day. I'm not a fan of the bunkers as they have a hard time keeping sand in them with the wind? At least they were all groomed with rakes nearby. Fairway bunkers had plenty of larger rocks mixed in. I wasn't in any green side bunkers, but I heard from a few players that they were hard just below the raked surface. Although the course is mostly surrounded by houses or next to the road on a few holes, I enjoyed the views with a lot of green grass, trees and mountains as the backdrop. It's not a destination course, but the rates are generally lower here so it's a good value if you can handle the drive to get there.
