Played here for the first time 8/14, first off at 6:09am with two friends who had played it multiple times before. Practice putting greens looked absolutely pure when I walked up to the clubhouse to check in. It was still dark when I arrived, and I couldn't tell the greens had been punched earlier in the week. I was told by the pro shop when I paid $38 to ride (instead of $57). We played the blues and every tee box was level and had good coverage. Fairways were mostly lush and were being overly watered during most of our round. We had to dodge sprinklers multiple times while hitting approach shots from the fairways. As expected, the punched greens were terrible to putt on, and were very slow. My group played auto-two-putts to stay sane. We played in exactly 4 hours. The cart girl came around twice and we never saw a marshall.
Overall, I enjoyed the layout and would consider playing again, assuming the greens aren't punched next time. Biggest problem was the pro-shop NOT saying anything when the tee time was booked, that the greens were about to be punched.

Played here Friday 7/30 and had a 7:30 tee time. We got off right on time and finished in 4 :15 with no one pushing us.
Tee boxes are in ok shape with a few thin spots.

Tee boxes are in ok shape with a few thin spots.
Fairways are in good shape but some were overwatered and we had some wet lies. Some of the bunkers had standing water and some are in need of more sand.
Rough was in good shape in most spots.
The greens with the exception of #2&18 have recovered from the problem they had last year. They rolled at a medium speed and smooth.
Checkin was quick and we only saw the cart once but not until hole 16.
I enjoy the layout and plan on returning soon. Just a heads up,no senior rate on Fridays.

Seems like Yucaipa is at long last turning around. Greens are more than decent now, fairways much improved from my last visit here. For $34 weekday am with their rewards program, it’s a good deal. Rack rate of $52 not so much. Bunkers even seem a bit better, although they’re still just groomed dirt like all IE courses in this price range. Just glad this course is playable again as it’s such a nice balanced design for the average golfer. Staff is always friendly, did not have chance today to try and rate food service. One tip though, don’t book an early am Wed round you will slam into the very slow playing men’s club on the back nine. We spent as much time playing 13-18 as we did 1-12.

Played after 10 today, 4 and half hours as usual..course is OK, greens are slowly clawing their way back form last years problems, only problem now is poe annua is growing up and bent grass is lying flat.. so as the days get warmer that later in the day your ball will not have anything near a roll more a bumpy ride to the hole. Course still getting a pretty full tee sheet everyday...always have fun when you putt with your eyes shut and don't get up tight with the six or more carts lined up on the three pars. Tip, make sure you take a good look around the hole before you putt and if you see yellow tips on the poe with dark bent area's around it the ball is going to get a late quick break because the poe is higher then the bent.

Played Yucaipa Valley around 10 today, followed Ladies Club...no problem finished in 4 hours...Course looking better every week, greens about 80% back...sand still more mud/little sand (need to do more of a lob shot I guess) greens are fast enough that being above the hole is not advised....just hope we get a couple more weeks of warmer weather so greens can heal even more

I enjoyed getting back to Yucaipa Valley. Check in was quick and efficient. Staff is always friendly and accommodating here. I like the casual atmosphere at this course.

Conditions were better than expected. While the greens were a but bumpy and too slow for my taste, they were still puttable. Fairways the best part of the course. Rough was inconsistent, some thin while others areas thick/juicy, which makes for a challenge for someone without the clubhead speed any longer. Maybe I should keep it in the fairway more often !

Every time I play here I think back to when this course first opened and there were almost no homes adjacent, whereas now homes border almost all the holes. Sure does change the way the course "feels"

Typical covid precautions with masks required at check in putting green closed but range open.
Tee boxes are ok with some a little crowned and some divot damage.
Fairways in good shape with good coverage and nice to hit from. Rough was just long enough to have your ball settle down enough to make it tough to find and make you work a little hit from.
Was not in any bunkers but they looked thin and compacted with no rakes available.
The greens could be better. They ran fairly fast but were bumpy making it tough to hold your line. According to my playing partners they have improved from the recent past.
I enjoyed the layout and overall the course was fun and I plan on playing here again.

Played 10/10/2020 1:12pm in 4.5 hrs. Only north most putting green open, but range fully open from the mats. Check in, bar, cart loading and starter all on duty and made for swell customer service and beginning to round(did I just use the word swell?!?!).
Played with Uncle Jimmy, and paired up with an awesome local couple for a fun and enjoyable October round. BTW, Yucaipa has the best golf course bloody mary's...period! Ashwood is a very close second! You get the same quality bloody mary from the beverage cart as you do from the bar! It's grandma's recipe, don't ask, they won't share it to you. ;-)
Tee boxes mowed tight and lightly fertilized, but level and without issues(we played the whites and reds).
Fairways were great, just a few soggy spots here and there around some sprinklers. Divot scalps were uniform and healthy.
Rough was good, some areas were friendly, and some not so much. Either way, it kept run out off fairway under control. Some courses bring the fairway cut right to thier fairway bunkers. Yucaipa gives you a fighting chance by averaging 2- 4 yards of rough between the fairway cut and bunker. We still found our fair share of bunkers anyway.
Bunkers were fine, no issues sweeping for distance, or wedging for flight n bite.
Areas around greens were mostly playable and predictable to wedge from. Every green with a nearby water hazard, had patchy growth between the hazard and fringe.
Greens, night and day better than 2018/2019. Way better than early 2020. Slightly better than July 2020. Holes 7, 8, 17 & 18 still have green acne issues(7 & 18 being the worst). They were rolling fast, with very little break, as they are mowed very tight. Still, you get what you want from lofted/normal/forwardpressed putts now(been awhile since this could happen here). All those wonderful approach shots I witnessed by sbogey in Feburary, would have a fighting chance to bite and hold now ;-)
We let a fast 3 some play through, and offered the same to a 2 some on hole 15( they declined). Group spacing felt covid comfortable. Good to see continual improvements.

The Bad, actually the WORST is the tiny maintenance flags used for actual flags. You couldn’t laser them or sometimes even see them. If it wasn’t for my range finder’s optical zoom i wouldn’t know where to aim. Go here if it’s your last resort... I guess because I have been so golf deprived (Covid19) that towards the end of the round I just accepted the flag situation. So sad. “Know before you go” could save you stokes!
