Got out early Sunday, I didnt see anyone in front of us so I think we were first out. Played with some great friends and had a good time. Tee boxes were in good shape with some tees making you look for a place to hit from, fairways were rewarding if you hit them, rough was thick in spots and of course Yucaipa has the long rough like you are playing the British Open. Bunkers had enough sand to play from, greens were very wet as was most of the course so they were slow but rolled good, downhill putts were surprisingly quick, only had one 3 putt and it was my fault and had 32 putts for the round hitting 44 % of GIR. Now I pay attention to my percentage of GIR after the posting on the bulletin board. I like Yucaipa golf course and its worth the drive. Always good conditions as they recycle their water.

First time playing this course and was surprised that the course was not crowded for a Saturday. The course is in fairly good condition with some bare spots in the fairways, but most of them are in decent shape and roll very good. The tees are in ok condition with some bare spots and divot damage. The greens were in good shape and rolling pretty true and very receptive of shots in to them. Speed was medium to slow, but rolled flat and true. The bunkers are not great with most of them having a lot of rocks in them making club damage a big possibility. Most of the course is surrounded by houses so accuracy off the tee is a must.Fun layout with a good mix of long and short holes and a few holes where water comes in to play. Considering the recent heat wave that rolled through the area the past couple of weeks the course is holding up very well.

Nice local course, fairways always have sparse areas because of rocky soil. Greens are very good and fairly flat built on a hill so down hill putts can get away. As with many public courses no marshals on the course so you see lots of carts parking right next to the green and sand traps are left un-racked alot. Pace of play is about 4 and half hours before 11 and 4 or less in the afternoon. Again lots of 5 somes as seems to becoming more and more a thing on public courses (another reason the younger golfers do not play anymore) Course cannot enforce any rules for fear of loosing a paying customer so keep that in mind when you see some stupid stuff going on in front of you. Houses in play on a few fairways, but homeowners should be used to it by now (there not as a member of the foursome I played with hit one in someones backyard and had to listen to some homeowner scream at us). All told not a bad course just could be a lot better.

Yucaipa Valley is a fun layout - challenging enough without being too difficult. Some great views of the nearby mountains.

Course condition was a little worse than I expected. It's not bad enough that I wouldn't recommend the course, just be aware.The grass is very spotty all over the course, and some spots are growing and many spots aren't. What there is grows in clumps, so you never know what kind of lie to expect, even in a fairway.

Greens - coverage was pretty good, and I think they were rougher than normal today as recent rains may have kept the course from mowing. I think in a day or two they will be fine.

Fun course, and at the prices they charge, it is a great deal. Just realize you are not going to get $100 course conditions.

Played Saturday in a Church Tournament. Greens are horrible. Greens were areafied and we were not told. Greens real bumpy with sand in many places. Most Tee boxes uneven. fairways are okay and there is absolutely NO SAND in the bunkers. I hit a lot of skull shots because of no sand in the bunkers. Customer Service real good and friendly personal.

Played 2-16-17. Course has improved in some ways and gotten worse in others. The greens are still the best aspect of the course. Smooth and soft so they hold well. A little on the slow side on the front 9 then moderately fast on the back. Bunkers have been improved a bit and the fairways have far less dead spots though not completely gone. Tee boxes are in terrible shape. Maybe a choice I don't know but many were dead grass and some just dirt. I guess since the ball is teed up it isn't all bad but some were lumpy and made your stance questionable. I feel they are on the right track to get this course back to what it was but still a ways to go.

Good overall these days. Greens are good, always love the layout. Fairways are a little scruffy as are tee boxes but not too bad. Only really bad feature is the bunkers, very hard underneath the thin layer of "sand" and full of small rocks. Really need to improve this Yucaipa.

Food service is great and the employees are always friendly. Especially the starter ladies, Ray and Barry.

Still trouble with all the 5 some"s, we even had a 4 some become a 5 some at the turn this week, We live with it as this is still the best course within reason in the area.

It had been almost 5 years to the day since I last played here. Last time it was so foggy, I only saw maybe 1/2 the holes, so was looking forward to returning here. Had the first time off at 6:08, so still did not really see #1 at all.

The greens were the best part of this course, lots of breaks, that I did not remember. However, while they looked great, rolled very true, and were extremely receptive to all the shots, they were way too slow. Really had to slug the putts to get them to the hole, which was difficult because they actually looked fast? The fairways had some very nice areas, but also lots of bare spots. Same with the rough. Not in any bunkers, but they appeared OK.

Staff was friendly, but we were told they had a shot gun starting at 8 o'clock, but said we would not be affected. They "only go back to #16" "Nobody has ever been affected by them!" Well, after we finished the front nine at 7:20, we decided to play holes #17 and #18, "just in case". Good thing because sure enough when we reached #15 (Not #16 as told," there were two groups on the tee. It took forever to play those remaining two holes. Just glad we decided to play 17 & 18 out of sequence, otherwise it would have added another 30 min. Even so, enjoyed the round, the weather and the course.
