Played Morro Bay last Saturday am, and it was everything I had expected. $75 to ride, and conditions were excellent. The course layout is pretty straightforward without too much penalty if you are offline as the grass is continuous over the whole hillside. I’m not a big fan of kikuyu, but fairways were excellent, and the rough was cut short enough that you could get out of it predictably.

270 degree views of the bay and the rock are a treat. However, the lush conditions made for a great breeding ground for mosquitoes! Bring your own repellent cuz the pro shop was sold out!

11:50 Saturday start on a very pleasant fall day $64 inc cart. Course was a in very good condition overall. Greens were extremely soft, perhaps prepping for aeration to start on 10/10. Bunkers were groomed but lacking sand. Some nice wide open fairways, not too penal if you drifted into son trees… Several long, challenging par 3’s around 190-200 yards from the whites. No drink cart, but snack bar was open at the turn. Remodeled bar had good service…. Recommend for a nice price on a weekend!

8:30 Sunday $94 w cart
Course improvements include upgraded stairs to the abbreviated hillside range so that you can climb up and down safely… thanks!

Check in was easy and we saw a beverage cart once… POP was good at 4:45 for a difficult course. Basically if your not where you want to be, then you will be facing a challenging lie, up/down/ side hill lies abound… fairways were pretty nice. Lots of green and lush compared to years past where it got very thin.

Unfortunately, many of the greens were affected by some sort of fungus that hampered otherwise good conditions. Rough was thick, especially near the greens. Make sure you miss toward the middle of the green or your ball will be buried.

I like this course for its variety and the feeling of getting away even though you have soaring views of the heavily populated valley. Lots of elevated tees…

Tee boxes were fine except for the elevated par 3 which was totally shot due to over use.

I’d recommend, but for the price you would hope for better greens. Hopefully, they’ll figure that out.

Played blue tees on 2 consecutive Saturdays in the am. The course has quite a bit of contour and elevation changes as it winds through the local community. There are several doglegs, and you are forced to hit a shorter iron shot off a few of the tees. Water comes into play on several holes also.

Faciities are nice with driving range and oversized practice green available. Overall, the course is pleasing to the eye with coverage in the fairways. Some of the fairways were a little soggy from overwatering.

The greens were in great shape, but were very soft. Several were tiered, but they weren't running that fast, so it didn't make it too difficult.

Tee boxes were generally good except for one of the funky par 5's had the blue tees tucked in a tight cul-de-sac surrounded by bushes, with nothing but sand to hit from.

Bunkers were well maintained with plenty of sand...

I'm told by friends who are local that the course is on a rebound after a down period. They are happy with the improvement in conditions. Definitely a good value for $70 incl cart.

Paid $90 for brutal POP at Los Serranos. Our 10:34 start was delayed 10min while the starter was deciding on which course to send us out on due to slow play. We were doomed…

Course conditions were only OK. There were many burned out/bare spots near greens and bunkers. Bunker condition was not good. Either no sand or muddy/crusty from overwatering.
Greens were good, tee boxes OK. Fairways generally on the thin side…

I typically play here a couple times a year for tournaments, but will never attempt a mid morning start here again.

Played Saturday 10am with a friend who is member and received a discount rate of $60 w cart. Probably the best deal in OC considering the course is in great condition right now. The rebuilt tee boxes and bunkers were all open for play so that makes it more challenging. Fairways had good coverage and the greens were well maintained. The ball rolled smoothly which allowed for some longer putts go in.

Not a long course and somewhat forgiving of wayward shots on the front. The back 9 has its quirks so I took a couple penalties…

There’s a new large putting green at the range and the mats are in good shape… I like to travel for new experiences, but it’s good to have a solid alternative closer to home.

Played as a single at 1pm, with low expectations for the course… They had 5 fairways at cart path only… it’s good to know they are still trying, as the fairways elsewhere are very spotty, with a wide variety of “grasses.” Greens were good, bunkers OK, tee boxes that were rebuilt last year are worn out. Seems like tee locations aren’t managed well.

Marshall did a good job early in the round to push groups along and we finished in under 4.5 hrs. The course is overpriced at a walking rate, add a cart fee and you’re disappointed. Don’t bother with the range beforehand, it’s gent too crowded to find a spot.

Had an enjoyable round at Mesa Linda yesterday there is in great shape As long as you give yourself a lead from the bare spots that are here and there. Bunkers were a little one friendly house they had not been raked and were somewhat compacted from overwatering. The greens were good, only had one fun experience with hundreds of Dime size frogs hopping in front of your ball as it rolled to the hole. The price is reasonable at $45, but that is a walking rate. Since this person is Shorter and flatter than the neighboring of Los Lagos layout, Could be a nice walk.

There must’ve been a late cancellation because I got a Saturday morning teatime at La Mirada la Mirada. The course was very busy but we got out on time. I was very impressed with the course conditions right now, green red or nicely in the fairways were lush. Kind of an interesting layout with three par threes in the front nine. Thought that might cause things to back up but we really didn’t have a problem. Overall the course was pleasing to the eye, the only exception being the oddball par five, #16. Going to have to play that a few more times in order to figure out the best way to attack it. The price was right at about 65 bucks including cart, so I’ll be back…

Teed off at 7:50 am on Saturday for $99. I've always liked this course, but they should work harder on the fairways to justify the price. The Bermuda was showing signs of coming to life, but lies were pretty thin with several bare areas. A few holes roped off as cart path only cause they needed protection from cart damage. Didn't see them getting the TLC they needed though.

Challenging layout (particularly on the front nine). Tee boxes OK. Greens were in good shape. Great weather and scenery. POP 4.5 hrs

This course took a step back from the last time I played it. I suppose it was due to "winter conditions" that the fairways and tee boxes were thin with bare spots throughout. Still, it was visually appealing to the eye on a sunny Saturday afternoon with mostly green grass.

Rough was thin... Bunkers had been raked, but were shallow with hard pack underneath. Most were filled with rocks except for a few around the greens.

Greens were bumpy, with a few holes showing repair efforts. Trying hard to keep them growing, they soft with many ball marks.

POP was approx 5 hours as we were following an informal family tournament. We only had to wait on the tee for 3-4 holes.

Not a bad value if you get a hot deal, we played for $50 at 11:33. I saw the price had dropped to mid 40's. I wouldn't drive to pay full rate...
