Played oside muni on saturday at 2:50pm, $45 to walk. POP no issues whatsoever, a little waiting once in a while, but finished in 4.25hrs no problems. Blue tees in pretty good shape, fairly level and good coverage. They weren't perfect, but no complaints. Fairways kind of a mixed bag. Mostly in good to great shape, but there's a few bare patches here and there. Good cushion and rollout. Rough is pretty much non existent, off the fairway there is some scattered rough, but if you miss the fairway, you'll probably be in dirt. Not a big deal, that was all part of the major work they did a few years ago for turf reduction. Sand traps around the greens were very nice. Newish white sand with nice amount of fluffy. No complaints whatsoever. Greens were still healing from aeration a couple weeks ago. Very bumpy. Not much sand remains and they held shots well, but they need a few more weeks to get healed. There is also some areas of newish sod it looks like that were probably formed during the curtain/surrounding area remodel that still need some help. Customer service just fine, but they close the bar/snack bar at 5pm so they were already closed when we made the turn, kind of a bummer!!! beware and stock up before you tee off if you're playing twilight. Always recommend this fun layout. Easy to walk except for hole 12. Very challenging wind from the ocean is usually the case. I personally think the final four holes could be in the top 10 finishes of San Diego. 15 and 16 play crazy long, 17 is crazy narrow and 18 is no cake walk!

Fairways were running out quickly as well, bunkers were excellent. Lots of tight lies in the fairway and tee areas were subpar conditions. Overall an enjoyable time, the real fun starts when you’re putting here

Nice to have Oceanside back in the rotation. Not a whole lot of change from my last review a few weeks ago, except the greens have completely healed and rolled very true. Still prefer the smaller original green size, but I understand the improvement. As always, staff is wonderful here which only makes me appreciate playing all that more.

Joined an out-of-town friend from Arizona who loves Oceanside, who secured a mid-afternoon tee time. (A time I rarely play) I was impressed with all the improvement they have made to the course, particularly with the bunkers. Greens still have not totally recovered from the recent punching, but they rolled acceptably well with OK speed. The enlargement of the greens is noticeable, but I Personally prefer small greens. Fairways still have some issues, but not a big deal. I would have struggled with the pace of play, but it was more about spending time with my friend, so didn't seem to focus on it too much. Glad Oceanside is back open, so I can place it back in the rotation.

Played OSide on 9/26, first time back here in 4 years. They have been doing some work around the greens here. Most greens have added 6-10 feet around the outside. New sod in many areas around the greens. All bunkers have been reworked and are in great shape.

The new green areas on the outside of the old greens are still coming in. Still a lot of grass missing in those areas, however the old greens are in great shape. Very soft, but still roll well.

Fairways and rough is hit and miss as expected for a real affordable muni.

Pace of Play - I was nervous as we were the 2nd group off in the AM, and the 1st group played the first 4 holes in 1 hour (after going out 20 minutes before sunrise!). Fortunately, the coffee kicked in for the 1st group, and we finished in 3:30.

For a cheap muni, OSide gets it right. Very good greens, and everything else is playable. Recommended!

Not much different from my last review. Still can't believe how good the greens are at this course. In fact, conditions in general are very nice. Can't say enough good things about the staff. Always great to deal with

Out first on a cold morning (42 degrees) Had not played here June, green fees for senior nonresident went from $28 to $34. That's a hefty increase, but I will say the course is in the best condition I've seen it for a long time. The greens are excellent. Roll true, receptive, and have nice speed. Good coverage in the fairways. Bunkers had plenty of sand, but I was in front of maintenance, so none were raked. Tee boxes are the worst part of the course right now.

As always, Sam in the shop is a joy to deal with. Just makes a huge difference to begin the day on a positive note, at least until I hit that first tee shot anyway.

Played yesterday, Sunday, July 16. Beautiful day, 80degrees and about one club ocean breeze. Tee time 1:10pm with my brother and our wives. Proshop guys were awesome especially the PA announcer, really made the start of the day enjoyable!! Thanks guys, didn't get any names, but they were awesome.

Course is in good to very good shape right now. Blue Tee boxes were ok to good, they need some leveling. The wives played the reds and those tees looked perfect!

Fairways were very nice, never had a bad lie all day and my brother and I each hit 11 fairways, so that was nice.

Rough was long enough to grab your club, for sure, but short enough to find your ball and get it advanced, just grip a little tighter and aim a little to the right to compensate.

Sand traps were ok for the most part, but many of them had lots of squirrel tracks, my ball sat down in one of those tracks on the greenside bunker on 17 and it made for a difficult shot, but managed to get it out onto the green.

Greens were very good. Very few ball marks and they held shots very well. Smooth for the most part, but got a little bumpy towards the end of the day. They rolled at a great pace and were consistent.

POP was 4.25hrs, can't complain. Little waiting on the last few holes, but nothing alarming. $62 with a cart is a little steep, but it's the new sign of the times. Get on out there, it's playing very well right now.

The course is actually in pretty good condition. The greens rolled very well and had decent pace. Good coverage in the fairways. Fount two bunkers and both had plenty of well-manicured sand. The only issue I saw were the tee boxes. Rather beat up with lots of divots and not always level.

Fun track. Not overly penal, but enough of a challenge to keep your interest. Recommend to anyone who has not played here
