Played here Wednesday with a 12:10 tee time. Arrived around 10:45 and they let me check in right away. I putted for a bit and then asked if there was any chance to start early. The pro shop attendant said no that they were very busy and that the rest of my group wasn't there yet, even though I was just a single. The starter is positioned way over on the first tee, about a minute or two drive away from the clubhouse. At one point he drove over and asked who I was and said many people weren't showing up for their times due to the extreme winds, and he agreed to let me start early. It's a little frustrating that the pro shop attendant hadn't realized that earlier, but oh well, not a huge deal. I was paired with a threesome and we started around 11:45, pretty much setting our own pace (one guy in our group was very deliberate over every shot). As we approached the turn, one of the guys suggested I go ahead by myself at 10, so I said sure and jumped ahead as a single. Ran into a super slow group on 12 but they let me play through and the rest was smooth sailing. Total POP around 3:40.

Conditions are great! The starter said the greens had been micro punched that morning, but the holes were so small it didn't really affect anything. He claimed they were 12 on the stimp but I don't think they were quite that fast. They were quick, smooth, and fairly firm. Full shots took a bounce before stopping. Fairways were excellent. Rough was very lush and balls could sink down in, making it penal. Silver (blue equivalent) tee boxes were good. Bunkers were decent.

First time playing here. It reminds me a lot of the nearby Oasis courses but with some of Wolf Creek's extreme design thrown in. There are lots of major elevation changes, dramatic views, blind holes, some weird holes, etc. It was very windy for most of the day, which made it play very difficult. It's another great option in Mesquite and one you definitely won't forget.

Out to Falcon Ridge today after traveling to St. George we decided this was the best course to play for the money that had a morning tee time. So we decided that playing at 8:20 AM would be a wise decision. Unfortunately, it was 29 outside and we were under a serious frost delay that lasted about 30-40 minutes. By the time we started it was still in the 40's, which is hard on so many levels. The course is a tail of two nines, with the front supposedly easier than the back, however for our group that was the opposite. I think that all has to with the weather. Falcon Ridge, if you have never been there is a huge piece of property. Definitely cannot tell how big this course is without playing it. Each hole is unique and challenging. The course weaves through homes and across streets and around corners. It has a great clubhouse and restaurant with good bloody mary's and excellent food. The breakfast sandwich was well worth the 12$. The only down side here is no real driving range, just some nets and mats and old balls. The brand new carts are gas powered and can really move, the GPS should be installed sometime soon.

The course right now is in winter conditions with Bermuda dried out as the rough and the fairway/tee boxes are a rye blend that they do everything they can to keep green. The sand is a little rocky but still very good, and the greens when not frozen are rolling straight and held, surprisingly. When we finished about 4 and 1/2 hours later it was in the mid 60's, yes you read that right an almost 30 degrees swing from the morning.

Overall, I absolutely love this place its simply just fun, I highly recommend it and I hope to return in the spring or summer.

Course in in good shape, fairways will give you some run but they have good coverage. Greens were quick and in good shape. Bunkers were fluffy. Very nice staff and the pace of play was excellent for a Sunday. A shade under 4 hours and we were done. Definitely worth a play.

Didn't lose a ball on the front and three on the back (TWO ON NUMBER 10). Four hours and forty minutes is not bad for the afternoon, but we stood around a lot. Greens fast and true (no three puts). Fairways very good, as was the rough. I was in two green side bunkers, and they were easy to get out of (good sand). Would play it again, but from the next forward tees. I played the silvers and that was ok on the front but not on the back.

Rode the Silvers (6211/69.7/135) in slightly more than 5H. Brutal POP, it seemed longer. Mid 60's, breezy and partly cloudy. Played with 3 nice guys, two of whom really struggled on this course. Layout is target golf on steroids. Five different holes have directional markers in the fairway where from the tee you are hitting a blind shot over a hill. Several insanely elevated tees where you are hitting to a fairway or green 100-150' below. Numerous severe greens. I liked most of the holes. However, this applies more so than any course I have ever played. You would need to play here a few times before you know where to go on certain holes. Or what club to hit that wasn't a sheer guess. Playing conditions from tee to green were very good to excellent. Tees lush and well maintained. Fairways lush and usually nice to play from. Rough was very lush close to the fairways and around the greens. Dormant Bermuda farther off fairways that was matted down. Traps were nicely maintained with good quality sand. Greens were a completely different story. Wondering if they had a recent frost that damaged their greens? At least 6 should have had many large areas marked as GUR, many thinly covered areas. Hard, fast and bumpy on tricked up greens in windy conditions is a terrible combination. I contributed four 3 putts, and I would guess our group probably had in excess of 20 three putts for the round? Regardless of whether balls were coming out of the sand, rough, fairway or tee, you had to play for roll out. Last time I played on greens that hard was Alondra about 35 years ago. Balls landing on those greens sounded like drivers hitting a firm fairway that was going to produce 50 yards of roll. These were some of the worst greens I have putted on in a long time, and I travel around and play alot of different courses. For the price Falcon Ridge charged, I was shocked at the condition of the greens. EVERY 2' putt unless straight uphill was a candidate to three putt. No driving range, warmup nets provided. Putting green was about like the greens on the course. Sloping and hard as a rock. Excellent customer service from everyone. It wasn't worth even half the fee they charged considering the condition of the greens. Could only recommend if you are getting a super deal, otherwise, go elsewhere. In spite of being lush tee to green and great views. For most golfers, could not recommend this type layout.

This review is going to sound like I work for Falcon Ridge but this was hands down the best course on our recent trip to Mesquite. This might actually be my favorite course that I have ever played.

Everything about this place was excellent. The layout is absolutely awesome. It winds through a new housing development with some spectacular views and some spectacular homes. The back 9 is especially a treat. #10-#16 really stand out. They are definitely target golf but that is the type of golf I enjoy. It may not be for everyone but I loved it. The 10th was one of my favorite holes out of any that I have played. The large lake at the bottom and the stream running down the middle of the split fairway was awesome. I tried to take some pictures here but it did not look anything like it did in person.


If you are in the area, this place is a absolute must play, especially with the conditions right now. The is what I remember Coyote Springs looking like a few years ago when I played it. The fairways are the greenest you will ever see and the rough is all brown or yellow. It is absolutely an amazing sight. You have to see it to believe it.

It is very simple here right now:
Fairways - Outstanding
Rough - Outstanding
Greens - Outstanding
Bunkers - Outstanding
Layout - Outstanding
Starter/Staff - Outstanding
Weather - Pretty much garbage again - cold and rain

The scariest thing about this course is the 2nd shot on #3. You hit from an elevated tee to the fairway and then from the fairway to an elevated green. The thing is, when you look up at the green for that second shot, all you see if the flag and this giant 10ft+ high by 30ft+ long curved glass window. I am a fairly decent golfer and that view even had me a little scared. A bit thin and it will end up going right through this guy's window. We could see him sitting on his bed watching us play as well. Luckily for us (and him), everyone hit good shots.

Go play this place. You will not be disappointed. I actually enjoyed this course more than Wolf Creek (which is saying something if you ask me). Our entire group agreed that this was the best course on the trip. It is true that it does have some strange holes and some blind shots but they are all playable. I wish I lived closer so I could play this place more often. This was also the cheapest of the three Mesquite courses that we played. Absolute must play and we will be playing it again on a future trip. Well done everyone at Falcon Ridge and thank you for a great day. We thoroughly enjoyed it!

P.S. - I do have to mention that there is no traditional driving range. There is an area to warm up that is simply a few mats where you hit into a net.

Of the 4 courses we played, this would have to be my least favorite course. I'm not a fan of blind tee shots and this had many. To go along with the blind shots, we had wind gusts of 40mph so things got a little crazy and frustrating.

The course's condition was nice. Greens rolled true and had some speed to them. Tee boxes for the most part were in good shape, rough was good.

I just couldn't get over the tricked up layout. It had some very nice holes but when I think of Falcon Ridge it's the tricked up holes that come to mind first.

No range time and no putting, but there wasn’t a driving range, anyway!

The greens were punched with small holes that didn’t affect the play much, so it’s okay. The fairways were nice and there was no rough on most the holes. The teeing grounds were good and the bunkers were okay. All in all the conditions were at its best for summer play.

The course design was fun for 50% of the course the other 50% with all the blind shots and deep drops were too much for me to handle- it became monotonous gimmicky and old quick... I mean at least Wolf Creek had something to look at. But hey, it was an experience to have played it.

I didn’t stick around after the round, but the staff seemed nice and the cart girl came around a few times.

I had a great time playing this course with three great local guys. I walked on and was fortunate enough to be in their group. Their local knowledge helped a great deal, and I probably would have gotten lost driving the cart if by myself! That’s really my only knock...it seems as though you almost had to know where to go rather than rely on signage.

It’s a challenging course and well worth playing. Greens, fairways and rough were all in good condition, pace of play was okay but with that said, there was a shotgun start tournament ahead of us with the last 4-some of that tourney in front not of us. They were NOT considerate nor quick. Once they were done, we sailed through so I really can’t comment on what the usual is.

Traps were nice sand, not the usual concrete I am used to! Greens were great, course is magnificent (the 12th was epic), and the staff super friendly. If in Mesquite, Nv, I recommend it!
