Very fun golf course. Clubhouse and golf carts are no frills, but they get the job done. $70 to ride is a very fair price. Incredible views from the blue tee boxes, do yourself a favor and at least walk back to some of them for the view, even if you're playing the whites. Target golf for sure and local knowledge is helpful. Reminds of Laughlin Ranch quite a bit. All the staff were friendly: proshop, snack bar, starter, "spotter" on hole 6, Marshalls and beverage cart all did a great job!

Conditions are good to very good all around. Blue tees were great, very good coverage and level for the most part.

Fairways were great, good cushion, proper rollout and great coverage, didn't have a bad lie either day.

Traps didn't "look" that good with the brown sand they use, but they were just fine, no problems whatsoever.

Greens putted smooth and had a lot of subtle to big breaks in them. They didn't hold short shots/chips very well, but full shots held with no problem. They were firm, so they didn't make big ball marks, but everyone seems to be doing a good job fixing them.

Some lakes/water features were filled with nice clean water, but the one the left on #12 was pretty nasty and only 25% full.

Not too much rough, it goes to desert pretty quickly. But there was just enough rough to stop your ball from "rolling" in if you were just offline with your teeshots.

Highly recommend if you get a chance to play. I wouldn't say it's a destination course, but if you're out there for some other activity like wakeboarding/boating/fishing/offroading, I'd bring your clubs and take a morning off to play for sure.

Played on Sunday, 5/2, with the Pisarski group. This should be the example of "don't judge a book by it's cover." After parking in the large lot and walking up the hill pass the maintenance shed, you're greeted by an underwhelming clubhouse. It has a nice patio but the interior feels a bit dated, with a small pro shop and snack bar. No outside staff waiting at the carts, just grab and go. Then you turn the corner and met with a huge driving range (mats and grass) and a nice size putting green.

Course was in pretty good shape as it is starting to heat up. Level tee boxes, some a bit hard to place a tee. Fairways were lush with very little amount of thin or bare areas. Rough gradually faded from 2 inches to the desert surroundings. Bunkers were a bit mixed, I was in a few decent ones, and a few thin ones. Greens were outstanding. Firm and way faster than they looked. I don't think I saw a ballmark all day.

At $30, it was an absolute steal. This place is all golf with no frills attached. Course design is really nice, with a mix of some risk/reward short par 4s, long par 5s, and decent par 3s. Both the front and back 9s have a loop through the canyons on the other side of the 95, and both have views of the river. It reminded me of courses in Mesquite. Some tips: don't trust Google Maps/Waze, it takes you past the entrance, just read the signs. Snakes are abundant, with a rattler on the cart path after the 6th tee box that made Gregholla actually holla.

Set up a 13 player event here 5/3 for my brothers Bachelor Party. Staff was super friendly in helping set up everything and even gave us C.T.P. and measuring tapes to use. Check in was very simple and very affordable at $29.74 for a 10:50 tee time on a Sunday, very good deal in my opinion.

Course conditions are very nice right now with everything being lush and visually appealing. Tee boxes are level and had plenty of grass. Fairways a nice carpet of lush grass providing cushy lies. Rough was good near the fairways getting a little scrappy the farther offline you are. I was in one sand trap and I ended up putting out of it but it seemed like nice sand. Greens looked a touch shaggy but were rather fast and had a lot of undulations.

Gas carts are provided, they had USB ports and no GPS. They layout at emerald canyon is very fun with some short drivable holes and some very tight holes demanding accuracy off the tee. Hole 16 is my favorite, it is a 258 yard down hill par 4 with a green surrounded by rail road ties. They also mowed the grass in two directions showing a half and half look normally seen on the pga tour. I recommend playing if you are in the area.

Played yesterday at 10:37, got out on time. Almost a five hour round, which is typical when the "winter visitors" are in town. The waiting between shots wasn't unbearable though.

The bad: The bunkers were a bit more firm and crusty than usual.

The good: Everything else. The greens are smooth, receptive, moderate speed uphill and fast downhill. Stay below the hole for sure. The fairways are perfect. Seriously. As is the rough, very lush but still playable with the correct club selection. I played from the blue tees, which don't get much use this time of year, and they were untouched and pristine, with perfect grass height.

The rack rate was $50, which is always a steal for the quality you get here. #6 is, in my opinion, one of the best par 4 golf holes you can play, anywhere. But there are many other postcard worthy holes as well. Spectacular views, superb conditions, unique layout in the canyons...get past the pace of play and you'll be one happy golfer just taking it all in here. Highly recommended if you're anywhere close.

Points have been removed for the tee boxes, they are not all level. The markers were on downslopes a few times which was annoying. Other than that, conditions are near pristine throughout. The greens are faster and smoother than ever, my guess for a stimp reading would be around 12 or 13. And absolutely pure in regard to reading break. Best greens I've ever had the pleasure of putting on.

I could go on about the perfect mower lines in the green fairways, the amazing views at every turn, and the great customer service from the starter to the lady that cleans your clubs on 18, but I'll just say this: Go now for the greens!

Disclaimer: I did NOT play well, so this isn't a happy review based upon a stellar round. I'm just in awe of how well the crew maintains this gem in the desert.

Black Friday round! Tee time 7:37, $45 rack rate. Got out on time, course was busy but still made it around in 4 hours. Conditions were a solid A- all around. Taking a little away for green speed (slower than expected), tee boxes (a few weren't totally level), and bunkers (wet in the morning). Otherwise the shape is tip-top. No rough, just very nice fairways and desert. Some of the carts don't have speed governors on them, so be safe when going downhill! Since I just recently began playing again, my game is nowhere near ready for the difficulty this course presents, but I had a great time anyway and recommend to play if you're in the area. Just bring lots of balls and a desert wedge if you can't keep 'em straight :)

Last but not least, I stopped at Emerald Canyon this morning before making my way back home. This is the course I was most looking forward to on this little trip and it mostly lived up to my expectations. I got there early. There were some early birds out, but it wasn't too crowded. The price was $39.75 and they sent me right out at 6:00 to join a twosome on the first tee. Right before our first guy was about to hit, we looked behind us and saw a creepy wall of sand coming over the canyons and right in our direction. Surprise little sandstorm with really heavy winds!!! Everybody went back into the clubhouse to wait it out and it was pretty nasty for a little bit. By about 20 minutes later, the worst of it passed and we went back out there to start over. It was still really windy and a little dusty throughout the round, but we survived. One of the guys left after nine, but me and the other guy got around at a nice 3-hour total pace. The course was in pretty good summer shape. Far from pristine, but looking decent and playing nicely. The tee boxes were good. The fairways had nice bermuda with occasional thin spots. There really isn't much in the way of rough here. There are some parts around the greens, but for the most part it's all just one fairway cut up to the edges and then it just kind of blends into the desert and native areas. Some of those transitional areas weren't too great to hit from, but middle of fairways almost always nice. I was in one bunker and it had good sand. The greens have completely recovered from any aeration that was done. No signs remain. They were firm and relatively slow (as is typical on desert courses in summer), but smooth surfaces for a consistent roll. This is definitely a fun and challenging layout in a really neat desert canyon setting. I ended up playing the white tees with the guys in my group, which were too short around 5900 yards. The blue tees are just over 6400, so it's a pretty big gap. Either way, it's a real "target" course. If you like narrow canyon walls, semi-blind tee shots and plenty of uncomfortable angles, then you will enjoy Emerald Canyon. If you like something more wide open, this is not your place. Both nines start off and end with relatively flat and benign holes, but then the middle stretches go back into the canyons and things get really tricky and uncomfortable. Several short drivable holes in play, too, depending on the wind. I found it to be a fun adventure, but this is a course you need to play several times before you can really start to figure out your strategies on certain holes. I was happy to be playing with a member who knows the course well. I wouldn't have fared as well without his local knowledge. If you can keep your ball in play, you can score well. The greens are very accessible and don't feature much slope or undulation. Oh, and watch out for snakes! I only saw one rattler myself (tucked nicely and safely back in a rock outcropping), but apparently there's no shortage of them here. The guy I played with told me stories of sightings and encounters on just about every hole.

The good: Roll was not really affected, speed was quite fast and the ball rolled true. The rest of the course from tee to green is 9.5/10. There is no rough at this point, just fairway and desert. Very green and lush throughout. Did not have a bad lie all day. I can't recommend this course enough. A must-play if you happen to be in the area.
