Played Wed 8/23, 2:20 pm as a 3 some with GKers alex and deepsea... 4:10 hr rd. Warm humid day with a slight breeze. Played the Zin/Merlot routing. course in pretty good shape, with the exception of the SLOW greens. Greens firm and true, just slow.. like a 9 on the stimp. When the ball slows down going down a tier, it's slow. But had a great time. bunkers a little ignored, but playable. NCGA price is a nice deal. Some of the fairways had some soft spots, but overall very playable. Enjoy this course very much, and wish it were closer to me.

Played Sunday 7/30 , 10:20 tee time; 5 hr round (because my group was slow, but not me ;) ) warm day with a cooling breeze. Wind a good 1-2.5 clubs most of the round. Greens are really fast, and I was not prepared for that. I think they are grainy too, which always messes with me. I say they are running a solid 12-13, mostly true and firm. I haven't played here in maybe 20 years, so I was excited to play... and it's much better than I remember. I thought it was going to be cool ocean holes and then mediocre inland holes... but the entire routing was really fun and interesting. I'd say some of the greens are borderline unfair with the speed, slope and pin placement: actually, #11 is not fair at all. Too sloped and too fast. when you have a 4 ft uphill putt, leave it an inch short and it rolls back to your feet... yeah, not fair. And there wasn't a great place for the pin, not with that speed, and with the wind blowing downhill. Cart girl came around a bunch. Course in great shape overall, but here were a lot of unfilled divots. Overall, I'd love to play here again.

played Sat july 29, 7:40, and 1;10.. finished the first round in 5 hrs, 2nd round we played 2 man scramble and finished in 5 hrs. Wind picked up on the back 9 of the am round, and was really windy the 2nd round, as expected. Greens running true, about a fast 10. Haven't played here in 20 years, so I was excited to get out, and it did not disappoint. The course is a little bare bones, but playable. Bunkers were amazingly perfect, though I did get 2 nasty plugged balls. Had a great time.

Played Fri July 28, 11am, 4:45 as a 4some. First time here, never knew this course existed. Wonderful track. Interesting holes, hilly course. Greens took some getting used to... downhillers FAST. Course in pretty good shape. Greens running about a 11... but they were a bit bumpy. I would like to play this multiple times to score well here. I would play here anytime.

Played Thurs 7/13 , 8:10 am as a 3 some; beat the heat time... 4 hr round. course recovered from the punch... greens true, about a 10 on the stimp and in good shape. Rest of the course in fabulous shape. drinking water all over the course. Bunkers were damp in spots. rough is sticky, so even when the ball is sitting up, you need to respect the rough. I love this course and can't wait to play again.

Played Sunday 8am shotgun, 4 1/2 hr round. Beautiful day. Second time here. 1. the routing is growing on me. I enjoyed much more than the first time. 2. last year, the rough was torn up and should've been GUR, but that seems taken care of now. The fairways here are narrow and the rough sticky, so hitting the fairway is a must. Greens are small and sloped, kind of like pebble. The restaurant is open, and they have a good smash burger. No range. Had a great time, and have decided this would be a great home course.

Played Sat 9am. 5 hr round. COLD day. Love this course. Always look forward to it. BUt I always putt horribly... cannot figure it out. Very grainy greens. Anyways had a great time. The marshalls and starters were incredibly nice. There was one marshall who wasn't so nice... he 'gave a time penalty' to my friend.. told him he was taking longer than 45 seconds to hit, and the course was slow because of him, and it 'ruined the rest of my day'. And he tells him on the 18th tee, as if there could be anything done by then anyways... Seems very out of line. We weren't too happy about that. Aside from that rude interaction, loved it and can't wait to get back.

Played Fri 7/7, 2pm tee time. walked in 5 hrs. course in great shape. mostly overcast day, with a breeze that got stronger as the day went on. This course ends on the coast, so the winds get stronger and colder as the round ends, and worse at dusk. This course for me gets better with each play. Wasn't a huge fan at first, but I think 4 rounds in, it's growing on me. One needs to play it a dozen times, I feel, to be able to score, as course knowledge is huge here, especially the greens.. .what part of the green you need to hit, etc... My biggest criticism and for me keeps it well under its sister courses is I think the greens are too tricked up. Lots of forced carries and lots of wind on the ocean holes. Had fun. Will continue to give this place a chance.

Played Sat 6/10, 8am shotgun scramble. Course in good shape. greens running a slow 10. mostly true. The last 5-6 times I've played here over the last 3 years has been mostly consistent: good muni shape, puttable, if not slow greens, decent pace of play.

Played Sunday, 9am shotgun. It was the 8 inch cup scramble. Only catch was greens were punched 5 days ago. Unbearably slow and sticky... but not too bumpy.. they rolled decent, you just had to hammer it. Left putts short all day, despite hitting them hard. But of course, made a lot of putts in the big cup. The rest of the course was in pristine shape (aside from some maintenance on the alternate fairway of 15. Customer service is always great. Tournament organization is smooth. And bonus, I got a voucher to come back for $300/foursome, at this $200 rack rate course. Best course in the Sacramento area, and a top course in Nor Cal.

Played Sat 7:50 AM, June 3, joined a 3 some; 5 hour round. course in good shape. Greens a slow 10, firm. a little bumpy if you don't fix the spike marks. Bunkers mostly raked and taken care of. Slow round for a 8am tee time. I always enjoy this track when I play.

Played Sat 4/1, 9am tee time. 5 hr round. Beautiful day with GKers alex and roarksown... last rain was 3 days earlier, and no sign of any of the rain we've been having. Greens were punched 5 days earlier, and they are recovering nicely. We got a nice pebble beach sized discount to match (still not cheap!). But they rolled mostly true, slower than usual, not really bumpy, i had one putt moved slightly off line cost me a bird. They should be really good in 2 weeks. The rest of the course was in its usual pristine shape. So overall, a great experience, slightly lowered by the maintenance, but that was more than offset by the discount, great course, and great company. Always feel blessed I get to tee it up at this bucket list course.
