Wednesday, tip Senior Men's club tees off at 8 and there is always at least 60 players, so if your behind them it is 4.5 hour round for you (at least) The course is in the best shape it has been in the last 3 years...most of the greens are back....they are spot reseeding all over the course right now so you have to move the ball some out of the mulch....3 weeks should see more fairway coverage then ever, fingers crossed.....lots of reseeding around several greens also...they keep working on this course which is a plus for a public course in the inland empire...

Played El Rio outside of Bull Head Wednesday 10/20 best shape the place has been in last 4 years...grass in fairways and good (bit slow) greens..bunkers more dirt then sand as the course gets plenty of wind and cannot hold sand in bunkers...first time I would say the EL Rio was in better shape then Los Logos half mile away.....Drive out and play Laughlin casinos need your business....5 courses within 30 minutes of Casino Row....

Played Monday, 9/27...best shape course has been in the last 3 years, only three of the greens are still under some repair others are back. Pace of play was right at 4 and half hours, always seems longer here as the layout of the course causes back ups on several holes and just about the time you had it waiting you get a hole where there is no waiting?? Always find nice people to play with....as with any course a lot of guys playing wrong tee box's and two 5 sums in front of our 4 sum....one complaint is they just do not control the first tee box, need to be sure who is teeing off when and for sure getting singles and two sums tied together. Way to many groups/ 2 sums teeing off before tee times....Like we had two four sums that both claimed same tee time....poor girl in club house had to come down and yell out who was what time.....

Took a 3 day trip down to El Cajon out side San Diego to stay at the Casino Hotel (Sycuan) an play e rounds of golf....Singing Hills Willow Glen and Pine Glen along with Carlton Oaks...a big thumbs down on all three....Carlton Oaks in the worst shape Pete Dye course I have ever seen...Singing Hills, a beautiful setting and driving in looks amazing...NO WAY both courses are like being taken care of by the worst ground crews in California..greens are terrible on Pine Glen and just about ruined on Willow Glen....???? do not waste any time driving down there to play these courses you will be wasting gas...for the locals I hope they can figure out a way to save one of these courses because all three are looking desprate.

We played at Cimarron on the Boulder course yesterday...love it...very little play right now...amazingly they are replacing a tee box and green on one of the Par 3's right now..how can they afford to keep the course up is a mystery...fairways were fine and greens, which we call the easiest in the valley, were GREAT, so level and so true everyone makes 12 foot putts like they were tap ins....I have seen the course up for sale after Warrior Golf went under but it does not seem to have caused any damage...looking over at the short course it looked in good shape also.....they even plan to close and over seed in September?? how good is it right now, we play Yucipa Valley every week and if it had just one fairway or green as good as this we would call that a miracle.

Played at 8 this morning with two friends that love this course...only had a single in front of us and he was gone after 3 holes...3:10 round for $35 can not do better these days without a last minute Golf Now. Course is in summer condition fairways have combo grass about 5 kinds I counted but coverage is fair some bare spots..greens very full and putts fairly true...it not a hard course from the fairways for sure, we all shot 85 from whites and over 60 with 17 handicaps we called it a very good day.

Always fun on this course for us with over 14 handicaps...small greens if you hit them you have good chance for a one put.. Weekday rate of $35 with cart very fare...course is in summer shape and a few greens are not doing very well....typical public course bunkers, good luck. Most fairways yield playable lies...Kikuyu grass around most greens keeps anything short from advancing unless very thin coverage. Play can slow down as a lot of high handicaps play this course...as always some try to move or let you play through, and the jerks don't. we followed a foursome that had "PROS" three putting all the greens after walking all around reading them..the foursome in front them were also a part of the group so you know they were two holes behind by the time we reached 12. Oh well still love playing this course as it is not a killer...18 holes we all played only one ball that tells the whole story on how hard it is.....

Had not played Glen Ivy in about 3 years, so we had the underpar deal 2 for $90 after 12....what a joke, course in bad shape...cannot believe people are driving out from Orange County and paying over $50 to play this course. My only question after 18 holes was is the place going under again?

Nothing but good at this course (if bunkers don't count, being in a very windy area hard to keep sand in them) always an A1 course for the ladies, and yes my wife beat me yet again as the ladies tees are overly fair for the short hitter. Course is not hard and basically your putting is going to be the reason you do or don't score well. We play this course a few times every year and even with newer owners it is always in good shape. As I said putting is the key hear and greens rolled very well, just have to be aware of the the last foot break at the holes....

Played Saturday at 10 AM just under 4 hours..just a little waiting on most tees, no one close behind after 4 holes. Course in excellent shape, real sand in bunkers for a change and I should know I was in 8 of them. We were lucky as no wind and temperature stayed below 90. Always easy to recommend this course...super excellent warm up and practice area's in fact it is worth just paying to use practice area if your not playing and want to, at least, practice like a Pro.

Wife and I drove out and Played Shadow Hills North today (it is 18 3 pars) Maybe the best shape of any public course in California just plan Beautiful tee to green...Cement cart path around entire layout...If for any reason you are going out to the desert to play one of the big courses and have time you should try this one...100 Yards to 200 Yards with greens as thick and pure as you will find in the Desert..even has a Island Green to play to.....worth every penny.

Played Monday at 11:20 as a single, no rain, a touch of wind on last 4 holes....Two sum in front of me even knew me from Yucaipa Valley they let me go through and I saw NO ONE the next 15 holes. Less then 2 hour round with a few extra shots included....Greens worth the $45, fairways on valley (front nine) are close to terrible just to many bare spots...Fairways on Mountain (back nine) much better just a little tight in some areas...have been out there 5 times now sense they re-opened enjoy putting the greens as much as any around...put up with the fairways because the back nine (mountain) is about as much fun as any nine we play.
