Since Mountain Meadows hasn't been reviewed for awhile, I thought I'd give it a quick shout out after playing here yesterday.

Got out for a 1:00 Friday start as a twosome plus a twosome all riding and playing the whites. Hadn't been out to MM for a while and really enjoyed it despite my erratic play and a poor score. Teeing ... Continue »

This par 5 isn't that tough if you play it correctly. Hit your driver or 3 wood straight or slightly right of center off the tee. The second shot is key. If you can't reach the green in two, which most of us cannot, hit your lay up to the extreme right side. This will give you the best angle into the green. Be aware of the pin placement because there is a huge tier in the center of the green that will funnel your ball all the way down to the front, or even off the green. Choose your yardage carefully. A front pin is the easiest and the back pin can be tricky.

This hole is visually intimidating off the tee and will take a nice free swing to find the fairway. Avoid the left side at all cost or you will have a really awkward layup from way down the hill on this tough par 4. Tee shots to the right usually funnel down to the middle of the fairway. The approach to the green can play an extra club if there is some wind. Stay below the hole. If you can par this one, it's a great confidence booster.
