Played course 8/10/12. As usual terrible customer service in the clubhouse. It was kind of funny to watch the two guys working the counter turn on each other in front of 20 guys patiently waiting to pay and get to the tee. This confusion caused a huge mess on the first tee and my group ended up going out almost 30 minutes late. As for the course-the greens (excluding #3) rolled ok but a little slow. Traps were great as were the fairways. Rough was spotty. Don't know if I will return after being treated as poorly we were this morning in clubhouse.

Played yesterday, had a 7:08 tee time, didn't tee off until 7:45. Pace was okay after that probably just shot of 5 hours. Greens were perhaps worst I've seen them, extremely bumpy with a lot of ball mark damage. Fairways, rough, and sand were all average to above average. Its hard for me to judge the tee boxes here, I hate the grass, its the type of grass were even closely mowed there is still a 1/2 of spongy grass.

Played here on Thursday 6/21 at 3:00. The course is in decent shape. The pace of play as noted by many other reviews, can be brutal. We were 3 deep waiting on the first par 3 and probably sat for over 30 minutes. Otherwise, the course is player friendly (parallel fairways means the occasional stray shot can be salvaged). As with most courses at this level, folks just don't fix their ball marks leaving some of the greens really beat up.

Played 6/21 in a bar golf tournament !!! Only negative was no beer cart girl !! ??? Have notice many of American Golf courses are very bad about food concessions !!!! Closing down snack shops on the course !!! no on the course services at all !!!! I think they don't care , or are poorly managed !!!! Greens were inconsistent but generally fair, fairways good shape, and love the signs on par 3's to wave up after you are on .. But, not enough people do it !!! Mostly because of ignorance from talking to some of them !!!!

Played yesterday as the 5 th group out. Now I know what time to play this course on the weekend. Pace of play was great at a little over 4 hours for a course that usually takes easily over 5hrs.
Fairways were good, tee boxes were lush with some divots. Greens were rolling medium. The traps were great in some with white sand but on the par 3 5 the bunker was all mud. As I was leaving the 18 th noticed a back up on 1 and a lot of people in the pro shop. If you play here on the weekend get there around 5 am.

I love playing here! I usually rotate between Mile Square, Rec. Park, El Dorado and Skylinks. For the value and experience Lakewood CC can't be beat. What I truly find challenging is that it truly tests out all parts of your game, you'll surely use all the clubs in your bag when you play. Also the greens are smaller than most other courses and very well guarded by bunkers that are cut right next to them. You either hit the green or you're in a bunker. The 9th hole, par 5 is a good example of this make or break bunkering. There's still a bit of aeration left but not too bad. I highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it. The staff are very hospitable and don't treat you like some 3rd rate player.

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

Played this morning, what a nice day to be out. Wet grass when we started but didn't last long, perfect weather. I liked the course and the course layout. Three of the four par threes though required the same club off the tee. Other than that there was a good variety of 4's and 5's. Pace of play was good even though they allow fivesomes.
The fairways are generous, but there are enough trees waiting in the wings to make it interesting if you have a wayward driver. Sand traps were well stocked and pretty consistent as far as they looked. Fairways were ok and the rough wasn't very penalizing. The greens were nice, held approach shots well and rolled true and fast. Just a few greens needed some ball marks taken care of. Overall a good golf experience and a good rate. I would like to play this course again. Had a good time with Rddenn and Noobie and friends today.
