First time playing here on 08/13/24, I'm from SoCal and first time playing in Northern California. However, course reminds me of some of the nicer courses surrounded by upscale resdiential neighborhood. It's a demanding course with undulating fairways and greens. Most fairways have alot of sidehill variations and if you don't know where to place your tee shot it could literally roll into a hazard OB. There are many forced carries where the green is seperated by a creek..it IS NOT AN EASY COURSE. If this is your first time..bring balls. This course was an LPGA event at one time. We had a great time, but it is not one I would want to play regularly..it is tough.

I played here this Wed. morning about 7:30am. Pace was very good and no waiting. I haven't played here for over 10 years so I did not remember the layout or have any notions. This is a challenging course as all the fairway lies will be at some sidehill lie. The fairways are pretty good, but some have dead dry areas but only in the front. I have to say however I have never been in so many dead spots / divots on the fairway. The greens are nice and rolling medium fast. The weather was perfect and the holes toward the ocean got breezy. The location you can't beat for the price. I'm good for the year, but conditions at El Dorado, Recreation Park, Lakewood and Navy are much better if you are coming from those areas.

Played here 07/22/24 and the course conditions are great. The greens are smooth and are rolling great. Fairways are in great shape and ball sitting up nicely. I play midweek so it's a good pace and finished around 4 1/4 hours. Definitely get out here, all is excellent.

PLayed here 07/29/23 for the first time in decades. I know alot complain of the slow rounds here, but perhaps I played mid-week, I was flying through..the round was completed in under 4 hours. Anyway, the course is in great shape, fairways are great if not perfect..greens are xlnt. The tee box is fluffy so they may need to mow it a tad..but otherwise great conditions. For the money it is a deal! Course overall is in great/xlnt shape at this time.

I played here 1/2 and 1/9 and the course overall is in good shape. The fairways are pretty well covered and the greens were in great shape. Green speed is medium and you wont get penalized if you are a heavy handed putter. For the price (I play mid-week) it is definitely worth it to get your golf fix. Typical round here will take about 4.5 hours. If you need to work on your game this is a good place..no real major hazards (think there is only water on the back only)..otherwise you are in play everywhere.

Played on 1/16/23 and it was pretty packed for a Tues. the round was steady pace but it was packed. The fairways are in good shape and the greens also. The greens were firm and rolling fast. I never saw a dry of bad part of the fairway and the course overall is in great shape. Looking forward to coming here next week.

Played the back 9 on 8/5/23. RH is generally in good shape. The greens were perfect this morning. I like to play here to keep the golf juices flowing. It is not an easy course - fairway are narrow and going off fw is gonna cause you problems..not a place for the beginner golfer. A good test of your game and where you stand.

I played here 7/29/23, first time at this course. If you love elevations changes this place is it. Every hole is either going up or down..I don't think you can walk here..and I wouldn't want to..even the hole transitions are steep..cart only. Anyway, really nice course, fairways were in good shape 8/10 and same for greens. For me $90 is getting up there for green fees with cart, but we finished in less than 4 hours..so there is a plus. The fairways were very nice and the greens also. They looked fast, but I would say comfortable fast..not penalizing. This place requires accurate tee shots also..which I learned. With the altitude changes..hitting a FW or hybrid off the tee will be most prudent. Overall, the course conditions and the quick pace of play is worth the cost. If you have been playing flat courses and want to treat yourself, Anaheim Hills is worth a shot. This course will not be in the regular rotation, but look forward to coming back here in the future.

I played here 7/22/23 and its been years since I played here. LA is generally open and can't get in trouble in the front. The back has a a few holes with water. Fairways are in great shape and the greens were great also. As others have said perhaps the rain did the course well. The reviews are what the conditions are and overall I would rate the fairways an easy 7.5/10 and greens are about the same. Everythings was pretty lush and for the price well worth it.

Played last Friday, 05/06/22, tee time was 06:15 and finished 10:30am. The tee boxes are in decent shape, fairways are decent for this time and well covered but shaggy. The greens are in great shape.

Played here for the first time, 04/08/22, and tee'd off around 07:30am and finished easily 11:45..FYI. We are veteran players that play ready golf..we are moving and hitting when ready..so take that with a grain of salt. There is plentiful parking and the pro shop is stacked with whatever you need. Staff was friendly and no sense of pretenciouness (sic) at all. Everyone seemed happy and helpful. For the price per player this place is fantastic. I'll cut to the chase - fairways are in great shape, spotty some places, but that's the norm for pub courses right? Most fairways are wide so you can't miss - I hope. There are a few doglegs which make it for a fun, interesting layout. We played with a local and got some tips..but the doglegs are true. The greens are in excellent shape and I say they are on the med-fast side..as the day progessed. One caveat is the LL course is fairly hilly so if you are a walker - prepare for that. I am a cart pusher and in fairly good shape, but it was a good workout..but still loved it. The par 3's are on the long side..we played from the Blue's and no par 3 was under 170..there was one that played to about 205 (taking windage and elev)..the LL course def tests your mid to long game. Tee boxes are HUGE so many places to tee off from. Overall for the price - you can't go wrong

I love playing here! I usually rotate between Mile Square, Rec. Park, El Dorado and Skylinks. For the value and experience Lakewood CC can't be beat. What I truly find challenging is that it truly tests out all parts of your game, you'll surely use all the clubs in your bag when you play. Also the greens are smaller than most other courses and very well guarded by bunkers that are cut right next to them. You either hit the green or you're in a bunker. The 9th hole, par 5 is a good example of this make or break bunkering. There's still a bit of aeration left but not too bad. I highly recommend this place if you haven't tried it. The staff are very hospitable and don't treat you like some 3rd rate player.
