Played today in a nice POP of 3.5 The greens have come back since I last played 2 weeks ago. Looked good and chipped/putted great; tee boxes are always level (all done 2012/13) so no issues and they were clean and tee receptive; fairways were rolling well and providing good lies all round; heard no complaints from anyone in the bunkers; there is rough and patches of ugly grass (wire grass as some like to say) outside of fairways to cause problems; they are still mowing in front of the greens and around the greens providing better scoring opportunities (nice touch). Customer service excellent at all levels. Not sure what course previous reviewer played, but we did not play that one today.

Played June 19th and June 22nd. Greens have disease, off the fairways condition is TERRIBLE !! Hard, pan, clumps of weeds, clay, and terrible lies. Maintenance workers were edging the cart paths, ( most of them were surrounded by dirt ) ? Why ?? Two guys working ! Another guy was mowing around the greens with a hand rotary mower, ( dust and grass flying everywhere ), noise galore, ignored players hitting and putting !!
It is a shame ,such a beautiful location and layout is being run by ??? County ?? American Golf ?? or whoever?? Thursday there was a big truck pulling a wood chipper around the course running over balls in the fairways and causing big tire ruts in wet spots. Never saw the rig being used ???

Get some new MANAGEMENT !!!

Played today in a nice POP of 4 hours, in dense fog. Place to go if you want to beat the heat? Never lifted until we came off 18. Course is in good condition, since our last weeks round, but we noticed that the greens, now have a fungus (look bad but putt/chip fine and not all have it). With the fog and hot days, the greens can get a fungus/mold, if they cannot dry out properly (pro shop explanation). Sad to see, as they were in great shape last week. The rest of the course is very playable. Tee boxes good; fairways provided good lies all round, though some fairways have GUR circles; sand traps were fine and heard no complaints; you will find some rough outside most of the fairways. Customer service excellent at all levels.

I played Sunday, teeing off at about 7:45 with my regular Sunday group. The first thing we noticed was that the practice putting and chipping greens are distressed, suffering from some kind of fungus, or something, We were concerned that the greens on the course would be in the same condition. To be honest, the first three or four greens seemed to have a bit of a problem, but the others were fine.
The rest of the course was in pretty good shape. The tee boxes are fantastic. Tee to green is fine, considering ongoing water restrictions. The bunkers have the good sand, though it is possible in some spots to hit clay if you go too far under your ball.
There are certain issues at Los Verdes that are just part of the … er … charm. If you hit one off the fairway, be prepared to encounter a mix of hardpan, cow grass, and tree roots. But, hey, it's a county course with multiple ocean views.
Pace of play was under five hours, but we teed off early. Expect longer as the day wears on.
Customer service is top notch in both the pro shop and the restaurant.

Played on Saturday, 6-17. 2:04 tee time became a 2:35 tee time. Conditions were very good. Fairways were lush enough, flat tee boxes, and nicely rolling greens. The bunkers had soft white sand. BUT, the pace of play was horrendous. Took us over 3 hours to play 9 holes, and we left after 16 holes, with another multi-group backup on the 17th hole awaiting us. The waiting at every single tee box can be a real grind. For this reason, this is an at most, once a year course for me, despite the great weather and views.

Played today in a POP of 4 hours. I would have to say, I was not pleased with customer service today from a marshals standpoint. Total chaos on the tee box between 5:15 and 6 AM and nobody did a d%mn thing to rectify it. Personally, if you are planning to play between 5 and 6 during the summer hours, show the he!! up on time and be ready to go (please). The golf course is not your PERSONAL playground. And the marshal should take charge, not accept the BS from the players. Course is in great shape. Tee boxes are just fine; fairways are providing good to great lies and nice roll out as well; there is now rough outside the fairways and around the greens and it is hard to play from; the cutting of areas before and around greens is very nice; sand traps were all clean and playable (heard no complaints); greens were terrific and appeared to be in the best shape I have seen them in a long time. Customer service in the shop and restaurant was very good, as usual.

We played today in a nice 3 hour POP. Happy to report that the greens are clean and back in very nice chipping/putting shape. I do feel that they could even be better and hope that happens over the next few weeks? Good coverage in the fairways regarding lies, though you will find some thin spots here/there. Heard no complaints from anyone playing the bunkers and they all looked clean and playable. Wire grass and rough on outside of fairways that is difficult. Tee boxes (which were all redone 4 years ago) are all fine. They have also mowed the entrances to all greens very short, as well as around each green which IMO improves your scoring chances (nice touch). Customer service excellent at all levels. They even have some new EZ Go carts with windshields in the fleet, for those who prefer to ride.

Played today in a nice POP of 3.5 hours. Fairways in good shape, providing good lies and roll throughout round. Tee boxes are fine, but did find some hard areas when teeing up. Traps appear fine and heard no complaints. There are areas of rough and wire grass along the sides of many fairways, which are difficult to play from. Greens were horrible. They recently sanded them again (why I do not know) and putting on them was terrible. IMO they could have cleaned them much better after sanding then they did? Had I known this before I played, I would not have shown up for the tee time. Customer service ( except for telling us the greens had been sanded) was excellent at all levels.

Played here yesterday with my buddy Ken. Teed of at 1:00 and finished by 5:30 so pace was nice. The course is kind of a mixed bag. The greens are recovering nicely for the punching and roll pretty smooth and with okay pace. The recent rains made them a little softer than normal which makes them bumpy at times. The tee boxes were in great shape with no complaints. The fairways were lush at times however spotty with different grasses and the rough is hit or miss. There are large patches of crab grass throughout so lies can be challenging. Was in one bunker and it played well with ample sand. The views are great and the rate to walk is very reasonable. I always recommend playing here however the pace can be a issue at times.
