Played in a men's club tourney on Saturday, April 22. Course was in pretty good conditions. The greens were in outstanding condition likely because the aeration of the second half of the greens has been delayed twice now. The previously aerated sides have healed and the greens were pretty firm overall. I predict they will be finishing the aeration this week though.

The sand was deep and soft, the fairways are still pretty lush, the rough is hope and pray. The tee boxes are okay. It was not as clear as last week but still spectacular in terms of scenery.

The men's club is trying to crack down on pace of play so hopefully public play after the tourneys is not impacted as it has been in the past. There were a couple of very difficult pin positions (#5 and 12, par threes), though, that were not designed to speed play.

Was able to get out today, with my usual Wed group. POP was 3.5 hours under sunny skies. Course is OK, but is undergoing aeration (half of greens already done - next half next week) and the greens are very poor when putting from aerated to non aerated. Some of the tee boxes were a little beat up but are being attended to. Traps all seem to be fine and heard no other complaints. Fairways are "good" but are drying out some, already. On the outside of many fairways you will find unfriendly rough and many weeds. And our friendly folks at the County of LA have raised cart fees effective April 1 (nice huh). We now pay the same price for carts, whether we ride double or single. So stay healthy and walk (LOL). Customer service excellent at all levels.

This was my first time playing Los Verdes and enjoyed the challenges and views this course has to offer. We tee'd off right on time and found the pro shop staff very friendly. The starter on the other hand was very rude to my playing partner after he hit his tee shot as he felt the group in front of us was too close. The ball didn't land anywhere close to them, and if the starter on the tee box thought they were too close, he should not have let him hit away.

The course has good and bad points, but mostly good.

Tee boxes - mostly level with good coverage except for a few were a little chewed up, but still very playable.
Fairways - Could use a little work as a few were on the longer side and a few a little thin. A mixture of different grasses growing. Ground under repair was marked very well.
Rough - The worse part of the course, some grass, more weeds and some with dirt and weeds.
Bunkers - wasn't in any, but i didn't hear others complain about them and they looked ok.
Greens - Greens were half punched with the other half to be punched at a later date. Of course the punched half was soft, very bumpy and sanded. The playable side was fast and smooth and this courses main defense. Will take multiple trips to this course to begin to understand the breaks. Downhill putts just don't stop and I could swear that some putts look like they go uphill.

Overall for the price we paid $30 walking, the course was well worth it.

Played yesterday in a great POP of 3.5 hours. Course is in even better shape (IMO) than last week. Maintenance has had time to mow and clean and it shows. Greens were faster than last week, having been cut and rolled. Fairways are firm and providing great roll and lies. After cutting, maintenance has left some areas of rough that will cause trouble but also shaved the areas in front of and around the greens, making them much more accessible and playable. Traps are all cleaned and turned, providing great play. Tee boxes are great. Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played today in POP of 4 hours. Weather was fantastic and so is the course. Tee boxes are in great shape; bunkers are clean and playable; rough around the course, is thick and tough; fairways are dry, with great lies and great roll; greens are great (fast and furious). Customer service excellent at all levels. The way the course is now, is how you want to play it (IMO).

Played yesterday. POP 4 hours. Course is in great shape. Tee boxes are clean/mowed; fairways are green, with great lies and great roll; sand traps are clean and playable. Lots of heavy rough on outside of fairways and around the greens. Greens are ALL in fantastic shape and fast. Customer service excellent at all levels.

The course was in pretty good overall condition. The tee boxes were very nice, level and lush. The fairways has pretty good coverage with limited dead/brown spots. Rough wasn't very well maintained but was manageable, ball could be tough to find in spots. Greens were a tad bumpy but ran pretty true and medium/fast.

Was an interesting round as we played through heave fog and mist for 4-5 holes with very little visibility.

Played today in a POP of 4 hours. Course has improved greatly from last week. Fairways much drier, providing some roll but no evidence of muddy tire/cart tracks. Not really necessary to play winter rules, but IMO still advisable. There is a lot of heavy rough along the fairway edges and greens, that has grown up from the rain and has not been cut and difficult to play from, in addition to finding your ball. Tee boxes were fine. Traps fine. Greens were a little uneven on the front vs the back but putted well overall (looked to need a shorter cut and roll IMO). Customer service excellent at all levels.

Played yesterday and it was very sloppy and wet. The course has reached (IMO) its saturation point. Needs time to dry out. Much standing water, wet rough and muddy areas. They even had CPO which is very rare for here. The one bright point of the day were the greens. Though not mowed, they putted very well and in a few days/weeks will be excellent. They were already working on the traps, tee boxes were very good. Not going to rate the course, as it would be unfair to do so. Customer service excellent at all levels.
