Tee'd off at with glow in the dark balls they sell for $9 at the pro shop. Sunrise was at 7 and by then we barely made it to the 3rd hole after losing two of those balls. The stars were about as bright as I've seen them in LA, but other than being able to make out the big dipper at 6am, there was nothing to enjoy about teeing off an hour before sunrise.

Plan on 5 1/2+ hour rounds, but this course is still completely worth it for nothing else but the gorgeous pacific views. The greens are nice soft and true but the rest of the course and especially the patchy roughs need a break.

Aeration has made the greens the best you'll ever see them here at LV. Warning: they are punching the second half this week. Tee time was 7:07, we teed off at 7:20am ( d%mn glow ball groups they let out push everyone back, so I don't see what they gain). Finished at 12:10pm, 4hr 50min on the course ... that's LV. Some greenside bunkers are getting a bit silty, time for new sand. If they could kill the wire grass the course would be outstanding (for LV standards).

1:48 tee time and they got us off late. Painfully low due to many groups of 5 and walkers. Good price great views it is just to slow. Needs some better course management.

We teed off at 6:15 and were finished at 10:15 and we were a group of five. Three of us walked and two had a cart. So if you catch the right day and time, you don't have to suffer the 5 hour or longer rounds. The weather was one of the warmest days I have ever played here and the course is in top shape. They have really improved the condition of the course over the year in all areas of the operation.

World Record set for Pace of Play at Los Verdes: 3 hours 55 minutes... Walking 5 some in front as well as we were a walking 5 some. We got out at our allotted tee time 6:30am and were done before 10:30am. I did not think it was possible at this course, but it happened! Course was in descent condition. Greens were nice, but they are so tricky to read. Sand traps were great.

Pace of play never changes: we had a Sunday 6:25am tee time, whent off at 6:40 and we were on the course for just under 5 hours. I chuckled when I heard the newbies ahead of us complaining about POP while waiting to tee off on #3 ... welcome to Los Verdes!

Always wanted to play here, but a bit of a drive for me. Walked on as single at 7:30AM.
Fortunate to get right out. This course reminded me of Pebble Beach. Of course it's not nearly as manicured, but the views and layout are very nice. Walking is somewhat strenuous, but, it can be managed. Get ready for lots of side hill, down hill, up hill lies and stances. The greens are another experience in themselves. One must play the course at least 3 to 4 times to figure out how the ball will break. There are some very wicked breaking greens that can be hard to read first time out. All in all, this course is an absolute jewel! I loved it!

They are vertical cutting the greens, sanding the greens today/tomorrow. They had several temp greens in place during the process. They seemed to be clearing the greens very quickly (cutting & sand). I played last week and the greens seemed fine? But any improvement is most likely a good thing? Remember that Tuesday is ladies day and no tee times available from 7 to 11 and that only means the afternoon will be slow. Other than that, the course seems in great shape. We were able to play in just over 4 hours, even with the maintenance going on around us.

Played 6/14 after 1pm on an overcast, misty day. Cool temps may have kept people away as we teed up on time and the place didn't feel "chaotic" as usual. No starter or marshals to be found. Greens and fairways above average. $39 with cart is not a bad deal - on clear days it has some of the best views overlooking the Pacific you'll find on a SoCal course - but the pace is just awful. 5.5 hours is too long for a round of golf.
